Katrina equal opportunity storm
Are you tired of all the coverage race is getting as if the only ones to suffer were those in New Orleans? So check out his story on NPRÂ’s Morning Edition about St. Bernard parishÂ’s troubles. Click this link then click to listen.

All they are worried about is this race thing. It doesnÂ’t look that way to me because there are just as many whites here as blacks.
Yeah I know NPR but listen anyway.

One of my friends sent me a copy of a British paper, and I have to say I was amazed at the moonbat headlines:
Daily Mail Saturday, September 3, 2005
Headline:
THIRD WORLD AMERICA,
Fears of 10,000 deaths as rape, looting and chaos expose the incompetence of the U.S
A TERRIFIED mother clutches her child as all around her anarch reigns. Law and order is gone, gunmen roam at will, raping and looting, and as people die of heat and thirst, bodies lie rotting in the streets.
Until now, such a hellish vista could only be imagined in the Third world disaster zone. But this was America yesterday - the wealthiest, most advanced country on the planet, mired in desperation, squalor and chaos as the situation in flood-ravaged New Orleans descended into a nightmare.
Other highlights:
Page 10 Headline:
The President is public enemy No. 1
America's dark underbelly has been laid bare
It pretty much amazed me.

Of course, you could also check out Paul's comments at Wizbang about St. Bernard Parish, which suffered greatly from a direct hit by Katrina. The parish is ~90% white, and you don't hear nearly enough about the damage, the devastation, or anything else for that matter.
It would seem that all news about Louisiana and storm damage is focused on New Orleans, despite the fact that there were areas that were even worse off than New Orleans. Some are still inaccessible over land.

"All they are worried about is this race thing. It doesnÂ’t look that way to me because there are just as many whites here as blacks."
uh, there are more whites in america then blacks. So if the victims are 50/50, the hurricane has disproportionately hit blacks.

"I was talking about St Bernard Parish not America as was the person quoted."
But even then part of the 'race' thing is the idea that a disproportionately black area is being treated different than a disproportionately white one.
