The Islamic Army in Iraq has shot down a US warplane, the Jawa Report has learned. Below is an image taken yesterday from a website claiming to speak for 'The Islamic Army in Iraq'. The website has since been shut down, possibly by certain unnamed patriotic hackers. Yesterday we reported the story, but unable to speak Arabic misunderstood the photo of the lone masked terrorist as a threat that jihadi forces now had unmanned drones that would be used against Coalition troops. Thanks to long-time friend Evariste for providing a translation of the website, we can now confirm that the photo is that of a US 'warplane' shot down by the Islamic Army in Iraq.
Continue below to see the 'warplane' photo and part of the translation of the threat that went along with it.
May I just say, "ha-ha!!" Is this all you got, Islamic Army in Iraq? Murdering the innocent and unnarmed, taking people hostage for ransom, and the occasional roadside bomb? This is what you shot down?
'fight them Allah will torture them by your hands and scorn them and aid you against them and he can see into the breasts of a believing people'-[qur'an quote].
And anyway. [it really says that, it's a common phrase to set off the meat of a message from the formulaic ritual invocations]
It has met Allah's favor, on the morning of this day of comity, Nov 6 2004, in the al Dulu3iyya area, that an American spying plane has been felled before one of the militias of the Islamic Army in Iraq.
I would also note that the Islamic Army in Iraq is a terrorist organization that works in the Shia areas of Iraq south of Baghdad.
***PS-this isn't even close to an exclusive, other than the fact that I found the pic and wanted to poke fun of the jihadi terrorists. Everiste should get most the credit. I just thought it would be funny to build up to the exclusive photo of the 'warplane' before letting you see it.

That's pretty weak. Terrorists shot down a remote control plane that could be purchased at Radio Shack. Praise Allah!

Rusty I doubt it was a "shoot down" If I'm not mistaken that is one of the backback drones that the Marines use as disposables.
It would be like finding a mortar shell and claiming you captured a tank.
I just got back from the hospital and I feel like crap. When I can, I'll try to look thru my links of known drones and confirm it is a disposable.
Even if it is not a disposable, the odds it ran out of fuel or lost radio contact are several orders of magnitude higher than a shoot-down.
Assuming your post is not satire and I can't detect it with the drugged up head.

How can it be a "shoot down" if the tiny plane is still intact? What did they use to shoot at it, a rubber band gun?

but if it was a spy plane ..surely the Intelligence guys would have captured the last moments ....which location/area.....From what we can see the plane does not look damaged [Cheers for Damgeplan= just an AD for the band ] .So the scanning device would have to be switched off by the militants.

Some spy drones travel in pairs. One is sent to get shot down on purpose, while a second one flying higher photographs where the anti-aircraft fire comes from.
I don't know if this is one of those types, but if so...bye bye, Achmed.

Hopefully, the plane has a GPS unit in it so that the US forces can track its location in case it's forced down.

I know this is off topic but: Am I the only one that sees the irony in good ol Arafat giving his blessing to little kids to blow themselves up, encouraging it, funding it, and yet with all his organs failing, refuses to give himself up to the Virgins? I mean really, he and suicide bombers are doing all they can to keep him from sitting at the feet of Allah. If they had a shred of intellectual honesty, they would strap his decaying body with C-4 and toss him into a cafe somewhere. Don't get me wrong, I am very gratefull they are hypocites, but shit, someone outta at least call them on it.

TAKING FALLUJAH.
A difficult but absolutely essential military operation.
The challenges that are presented by urban warfare, not least hidden roadside bombs, have been anticipated and new technology employed to limit the damage. It is, though, impossible to outwit all possible attacks and both the United States and Iraqi forces will sustain casualties. The dangers that they face reinforces the need for other units, such as The Black Watch(British regiment), to provide crucial logistical support elsewhere in the country.
Fallujah is not the only rebel strong-hold. There are other places where law and order is far from ideal. But Fallujah has become a symbol of a wider contest. If the United States is seen to have won on the ground in military terms and the authorities in Baghdad are perceived to have regained political control outside the capital, Iraqis will feel far more secure.
The most important objective now is to ensure that as much of Iraq as possible is in a state where free and fair elections can be completed next year and full power handed to the representatives of the people. The fight for Fallujah will largely, but not exclusively, determine whether that entirely noble aim can be realised.

Evidence of extermination policy towards Fallujan males as well as evidence of the policy of the US military to maximize its own casualties : http://www.boston.com/dailynews/317/world/U_S_troops_force_men_fleeing_F:.shtml
The US Officers claim they turned them back because they could not differenciate a "civilian" from a "terrorist" on sight only. Why not arresting them all and practise those "analysis" for traces of explosive powder on them later on. Additionally, US Central Command sends in the city 600 potential fighters that are going to inflict at least some casualties to the US troops. This is both planned genocide of the Fallujan male population and high treason of the US troops by US Central Command.

Ok- here is some info on the plane. Its called the RAVEN. It is made by the same company that makes the rucksack portable "Dragoneye" in use by the USMC. The system is not disposable, and runs on battery power.
Having crashed a few of these birds, I can tell you that that plane was not shot down. All parts appear to be intact other than the rear stab.
The bird probably lost signal w/ the controller, and it went down in bad guy land. BTW, the bird does have a GPS built in.
Have a great day!

Maybe a joint ops between USMC, U.S. Army and USAF...herd them to the lower, barren area...and have a suprise party with....(you guessed it) Our durable workhorse B-52, and anything else we can get airborne. let navair have a crack at them. lets get those A-10's going. then to top it off find a squadron of jennys (circa 1914). outfit the airframes with 2.5 inch rockets, modified with small charge and....yup: pig grease. any enemy like this that "saws" off the head of an american citizen civilian, has defined the rules of engagement. and to our guys, you live for our country, let them die for thiers!and grease em up!

Thanks to "Raven Pilot" for the correct identification. The RQ-11A Raven Small UAV is a flying pair of day & night binoculars for US Army and SOCOM forces, with a growing number of other users inside the US and abroad. The picture shows just one of the many benefits of this system: it's a picture of the enemy holding a small piece of hardware, instead of him holding the head of a US hostage. There are over 2000 Ravens in the field today and several thousand more coming. And yes, the GPS and cameras can still be working when it's picked up by insurgents -- providing great targeting info that's been used on at least a few occasions. The USMC's Dragon Eye is essentially their version of the same capability, though both SUAV systems are indeed made by the same manufacturer.
