Before you take away my right to blaspheme, I suggest that you had better take away my right to own a gun first. Because if you come to confiscate my computer to stop me from mocking your Prophet, you had better be armed.
.
The head of the European Council for Fatwa and Research and president of the International Association of Muslim Scholars Sheikh al-Qaradhawi responds to allegedly blasphemous cartoons printed in Danish newspapers. MEMRI:
Al-Qaradhawi then rationalizes this by saying European countries already outlaw such things as Holocaust denial. Again, I hate to let a fascist jackass make a good point, but he has one. But the answer to that wrong is to repeal such odious laws. I'll allow Right-wing Neo-Nazis in Germany freedom to idiotically deny the Holocaust all they want in exchange for me retaining the freedom to call your Prophet Muhammed a mass-murdering pedophile.
As I have been trying to argue for some time, the problem is that Islam offers a competing vision of society which is distinct from the Western Liberal tradition. As such, it is an ideology which we are fighting. Al-Qaradhawi is not necessarily advocating that individual Muslims engage in violence against those who blaspheme the Prophet, rather, he is advocating that governments ought to punish those that blaspheme the Prophet. He is also advocating that Muslim governments ought to punish those governments which insist that freedom of speech includes the right to call Muhammed a butcher on par with Ivan the Terrible and Genghis Khan.
Last, threaten us with terrorism. If the West doesn't censor insults on the pedophilic Prophet Muhammed (sawt), which is a crime in even the most moderate forms of mainstream Islamic sharia, they should expect more terrorism:
Then he warns us that if we don't punish the blasphemers, that the entire West should be boycotted.

Who do these uppity Islamofascists think they are? We don't care about their primitive beliefs. Mohammed is a vile character and the koran a load of garbage.
We have better armies, better technology and a better lifestyle so they are in no position to make demands on western culture. It just shows how childish and evil these people are by getting so anal about a few cartoons. They need to grow up and stop using religion as a crutch.

Europe doesn't actually have a deep profound history of freedom. Many who espoused and believed in it, oddly enough, emmigrated elsewhere - notably here - or themselves were persecuted in Europe.
What they have is "enlightened" state regulations - most emminating from the postWW2 era - oddly enough, they are loathe to acknowledge this - or the biggest single change during that period which was ... our (USA) direct involvement in European affairs and physical presence - which they will swear had absolutely nothing to do with their economic or "progressive" development.
They will deal with the current situation by re-evaluating, re-defining, and re-negotiating those state regulations.
That Iman is on to something! The Euros love the UN concept for everything - makes regulating easier - they might actually buy in to this.
Attempts have been made in the past to use the UN to "regulate" the global media and recently - the internet (lest we forget). Do note - the Euros were not in the forefront opposing these.
I for one, as everyone knows by now, is standing back from all this and watching how it develops.

Multiculturalism at its finest. Gotta love it.
Liberals, the muslims proved you wrong.

If the UN were to outlaw groups or individuals who blaspheme, then Islam itself would not be allowed. Are they not the ones who refer to non-believers as kufirs? Did I miss something, or do these proponents of Islam not call Jews and Christians pigs and dogs who worship false religions? That's blasphemy to me, so using the logic of the Islamists, Islam itself must be banned.

ashley, what do you mean? Muslim writers call Christians pigs and dogs all the time. What are you talking about?
By the way, Hitler was not Christian, so don't try to hang that on us Christians, too. He was a believer in the occult.

Oh, yeah, and I propose a new law. Any Muslim who lives in the West and speaks against the West must go back to wherever he or she came from.
See how ridiculous this is, ashley, and this blasphemy law proposed by whatever Iman is just as riduculous.

Ashley,
I despise the Left primarily because of their insults against Jesus and my religion. So I insult them right back. But at the same time I acknowledge their freedom of speech and their right to insult whomever they please.
That is what muslims are simply incapable of comprehending. And that's why they are not suitable to living in amongst us in the West. They should go back to Arabia where people are decapitated for blashphemy, where muslims are far happier it seems.

Muslims love living in the west. They love the freedom and they love all the vices that we have..usually to the extreme. They just won't admit it and most of them live a lie. I don't follow any religion, but when you consider them all, Islam is the most oppressive and subscribes to a contradictory system of beliefs. Learn to spell Ashley, or type in arabic.

I think the radical Islamists know what kind of people make up Western European governments these days. Looks like they'll eventually be making another push on Vienna into which we'll have to intervene. That is if the Chinese don't have us occupied at the time.

Ernie, the jihad was always two-pronged. It proceeded both east and west. The Chinese will have Islam to contend with, too, would be my best guess.

"how would you like if a muslim reporter made fun if jesus or moses"
Ashley, many have made fun of christianity and caused much offence to Jesus Christ and Mary, all in the name of free speech, why you muslim even destroyed the Buddhist temples, i didn't see any rioting or pillaging when these occurred from Muslims, Isn't Jesus Christ one of your prophets, why the deafening silence, if we have to deal with the offence and mockery in our countries by wankers, in the name of free speech, then so do you, suck it up dear.
If you don't like it, then leave it, go home to the middle east where you don't tolerate any other religion other than Islam.
As for the Imam, i wouldn't be surprised if the Europeans weasel their way into accomodating this crap, but the catch is they will outlaw affronts to muslim prophets, but forget to apply the same laws to protect prophets of other religions.

Ashley = anti-American muslim whore who doesn't want to live in a muslim country. In other words, a typical muslim hypocrite. I live for the day I can see Ashley and her kind hanged by the neck until dead.

BTW: I'm wondering if Ashley is actually a woman or just another jerk sportin' the software,"holes" being her operative word. Wasn't she supposed to be in school today? I'm not pickin' on her because english is not her native language. I do wonder how much tax payer money is being wasted on her unzipping of the mind at the local un d iversity.

Since "Ashley" and many Muslims are so aghast at the depictions of Mohammed, and since "Ashley" and many Muslims consider Jesus to be a prophet - what is/was their take on Piss Christ? Or were they only bothered when Mohammed was pulled into it? Because I have absolutely no recollection of one single Muslim claiming offense at the "blasphemy" of Piss Christ, or even the Virgin Mary "mixed media". And since they claim Jesus to be a prophet worthy of respect, as well as Mary, wouldn't it stand to reason they'd be upset about that as well? Their "demand" that all religions be respected shouldn't be coming up now. It would stand to reason that they should have brought it up long ago.
Ashley, hypocrisy is thy name.
