Al Qaeda Claims Downing of Apache Helicopter (Images/Video)

Al Qaeda has claimed to have downed an Apache helicopter in Iraq and has posted a video online to bolster that claim. The video can be found here (see August 15th). Images from the video posted below.

SITE:

Today, August 13, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq released two claims of responsibility to a jihadist message board. In the first statement, the group announces an attack which “disabled” an Apache helicopter “in the area of al-Radwaneya in West Baghdad,” where the mujahideen claimed to have set up “an ambush.”
The video, however, does not support the al Qaeda claim. The video begins with the terrorists following what seems to be a fully functioning Apache helicopter in their car.

The scene then cuts to the downed helicopter. However, there is no evedence of how the helicopter was downed. Further, for some reason, the terrorists are filming from far away and seem to be hiding.

It soon becomes apparent why they are hiding. Another Apache helicopter lands, followed by an armoured vehicle and troops.

Run and hide glorious mujahidin. Run and hide.

1 I think this is the same apache copter that went down last week. Similar very similar video to the stills that were on the MSM. Where do they get the stills?? Huh makes you kind of wonder don't it. I have a link but wtvw seems to be down. It was a local boy on the copter and he lost a foot. Said he was lucky to land in the only mudhole in the desert for miles around and it saved his butt. http://www.wtvw.com/news/default.asp?mode=shownews&id=1308
