The partisan reasons for Amnesty International's disgusting and immoral 'gulag' statement become clearer every day. Let's recount: The 'non-partisan' Amnesty International is
women and the board is full of Kerry campaign contributors. Look, it's not that most Democrats are self-loathing anti-Americans, it's just that most self-loathing anti-Americans are Democrats.
The top leadership of Amnesty International USA, which unleashed a blistering attack last week on the Bush administrationÂ’s handling of war detainees, contributed the maximum $2,000 to Sen. John KerryÂ’s presidential campaign.
Federal Election Commission records show that William F. Schulz, executive director of Amnesty USA, contributed $2,000 to Mr. KerryÂ’s campaign last year. Mr. Schulz also has contributed $1,000 to the 2006 campaign of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.
Also, Joe W. “Chip” Pitts III, board chairman of Amnesty International USA, gave the maximum $2,000 allowed by federal law to John Kerry for President. Mr. Pitts is a lawyer and entrepreneur who advises the American Civil Liberties Union.

It's not that human rights is a bad thing, Amnesty International only makes it seem that way.

Sort of similar to the League of Women voters back in the 80 election.
Regan was the first candidate to challenge the notion that they were some sort of holy institution made up of Saints. It was heresy to challenge their divine right to hold the Presidential debates. After the Regan revolution, they were exposed for exactly what they were, a very partisan group of far left liberals.
This group is cut from the same cloth and given the same free pass by the MSM. To quote them is a democrat ploy and the information is never challenged.

The inmates are running the asylum. And this woman, Khan, is the head nut.
"What we wanted to do was to send a strong message ... "
Message received, now WTF is that supposed to mean? It is complete and utter nonsense to call Gitmo a gulag and not dozens of other real, and monumentally more, abusive places. Here's my message, "Save your strong messages for Castro, Our Dear Leader, et al." She has succeded only in sending a clear and concise message to the kleptocrats and dictators of the world,
"You're not really in our sights. Only in general terms."
It's not that we can't take criticism, (hell, we expect it) especially when it's well founded and in context. But this is just insane.

Do we need any more evidence that AI, like most all other "humanitarian" organizations, is simply another propaganda organ of our enemies? Give them the black flag, quarter to none, kill them all.

I especially like the al-Reuters line (from the Update link):
"The United States holds about 520 men at Guantanamo, where they are denied rights accorded under international law to prisoners of war."
With great offense, I would like to point out that under the applicable 'international law' aka Geneva Convention, we could hang them all today. One wonders if they are trying to be dishonest, or if they are merely stupid.

i just cant understand where this woman can even dare to compare the prison in Cuba to anything that was in Stalins Russia....how old is this woman....20???...she has to be,went to some liberal college where they teach such crap that Stalin was a really nice guy....she better read up on her history....Stalin murdered millions even before WWII began...his own officers in his armed forces, peasants forcefully moved to other parts of Russia...i mean it goes on...he killed even more during and aftrer the war was over....he was even more vicious to captured German troops than the Germans were to Russian forces...and he made millions more dissapear after the war if he thought they had become to popular with the people or if they werent following his rules.....this woman needs a kick in her ass to get her brain in gear cause it seems to be stuck in reverse

Amazing Indeed. The worst part is that this is an organization that has the clout and the connections to hold the feet of tyrants to the fire. This will hurt them, and by extension all those who must live day by day under what are unspeakable conditions. In the end, it's just sad.

That explains why AI doesn't comment on terrorist Muslims beheading innocent people. Only "governments" disregard basic human rights? Also, AI is asking for access to the detainees. If no AI member has been to Gitmo, how can they compare it to a Soviet gulag and be taken seriously?

AI has no right to access. None. Zero. Zip. The International Red Cross and its affiliates is the recognized NGO for the Geneva Convention.
