Forget the Arab companies trying to take over American ports.

Maybe somebody more knowledgeable than I, can explain to me why the US would want arabs managing our most important seaports?? And apparently Jimmy Carter is backing Bush on this. And Hillary is fighting against it. I know I'm missing something here. What is it? Somebody please give me a clue.

Oh, and this story has been out on Drudge for at least a week now and I would have expected to see more postings about it here. This is a major national security issue. Why is everybody so mum on this?

Putting the arabs in charge of our ports is like trusting the fox to guard the hen house

Richard, here's the deal. Nobody in their right mind wants any Arab in charge of our ports. The problem is that, due to our reliance on their oil, and our subjection of ourselves to political correctness, we don't have the balls to say no. Is that clear?

JL.. I was hoping for a different answer than that.. LOL. That's too depressing. Look what Hillary is doing. She's going to garb this ball and run with it all the way to the White House in '08. I think a lot of people are pissed off about this and Bush is blowing it big time. And my other question is, why is the US incapable of managing its own ports???

Put the Muslims in charge of the Miss America Pagaent. All the contestants must wear burkas, meaning that even the ugliest girls can now win.

What's next? Sub-contracting out the southern border to Mexican drug lords?
it's bad enough that the southern and the northern borders are as open as they are... now the eastern border is as good as open if the UAE get ahold of it.

The real shame of this is that, just when people on the right AND left were becoming somewhat united on the cartoon stuff, Bush has to pull this stupid little trick out of his dunce hat. I've supported this guy but did you hear his arrogant reply to the concerns we have over this thing? He basically said, "Stick it up yer ass, I'm doing it." I don't think he's aware yet how many people in his base that he's alientating with this crap.
