8 Where I live: two blocks down and one block east of Union Square. I've been walking by Camp Casey NYC every time I use the subway. First of all, Union Square has a long history of having permits issued for just about anything- my history in this neighboorhood goes back 10 years, and my wifes over 20. Sometimes NY'ers like to trump up the drama of the fight against "The Man." I was at the NYPublicLibrary last night and found out from the decorations that it was anti-censorship week. I hate censorship, unless it is being enforced on a child by a parent. But this is funny: there was actually a scrolling banner outside this NYPL (53rd bet 5 & 6) proclaiming the censorship we apparently live under, and inside the library you could get what would fall under their definition of "censored material". I'm getting off the subject, so let get back by adding that I was also back at Union Square when Cindy made her appearance (I had seen the signs earlier in the day). There was nothing I deemed interesting enough to stay for. I see a woman, who like Norma Rae, is being exploited in a moment of weakness to further the cause of people with an agenda much dissimilar from her own. ps, yes, I do believe these things, and I am a NY'er (and also a US vet) ha!

11 Permit requirements are SOP and well known in NY. It's no secret. Her handlers didn't forget and aren't stupid. Just a lame attempt to be provocative and manufacture some sort of confrontation for publicity. No manhandling or roughness involved - which of course the left will claim - everything was filmed by parties on all sides. No "action" except in cindy's mind.
