a blindingly obvious point that has somehow escaped the Western media, Army Major General Rick Lynch today said:
It's a shame that the General has to spoonfeed the press like this, but with the massive egos occupying the brainpans, especially in television news, of reporters there just isn't much room left over for analytic ability and common sense.
Common sense should have told even the dullest newsperson in the Palestine Hotel that it had no intrinsic military value other than as propaganda, yet each network dutifully carried water for the terrorist insurgency by replaying the "spectacular explosions" over and over.
Odd, given the broadcast media's fascination for brilliant flashes of light and shiny things that there has been an embargo of images from the 9/11 attacks for years. The excuse given is that they don't want to "inflame" the American public. Unfortunately, there seems to be no equivalent concern about inflaming the ignorant, bloodthirsty, and illiterate buffoons who make up the bulk of the "Arab street".
Exactly, and there's bound to be more to come with elections scheduled for December 15. And, as usual, we can expect the bulk of our media to miss the significance of each attack.

I also wonder why it is that virtually none of the MSM reported the fact that:
A) the attack was an attempt to take them all hostage (and we know how that usually ends upÂ…ask John The Baptist)
B) the attack was repelled by the Iraqi Security Forces, you know, the ones that canÂ’t shoot straight unless an American Solider is holding the gun.
I had a sliver’s thread holding on to the notion that just maybe the MSM was “trying” to report things fairly. The “reporting” of this attack cut that last thread of dignity.

Welcome to reality John. The media have been the waterboys of every psychopathic dictator and murderer since the New York Times threw in with Lenin, and possibly before. See, the thing is that they love a good story, and if it happens to be true, fine, but if not, oh well, at least it'll sell some papers and maybe make them a star.

John, How do you know that the intention was to take hostages? I have heard this said before but don't know the source of it.

Maybe they just wanted to invite them to tea? We must remember that we shouldn't judge them on their ways, because they are from a different culture, and maybe cutting throats is their way of showing they like you.

Yes you know the terrorist released some crap saying they were after some security company they consider Israeli spy stuff. But I just keep thinking of the equipment and hostages. If they just wanted to kill just a bomb would have worked. No they wanted in and were driven off by Iraqi forces. How embarrasing. There were some Americans too but Iraqi forces are getting better. It may take quite a while but I'm feeling better about the war. I'm all opposite you know. If you listen to the MSM you would think we were on our last leg. Sorry but I know what this country can do if it puts it's mind to it. If the left only cared about Iraqi rights as much as they care for their own. My only worry is that the last month or two politics has went beserk on us. Distracting from the real work to be done in the world and here.

Dave, the idiot gets banned regularly, but apparently in a nation full of me-love-you-longtime ten dollar hookers, he has nothing better to do. We should have let the commies have the place.

"Common sense should have told even the dullest newsperson in the Palestine Hotel that it had no intrinsic military value other than as propaganda"
Not so common as to prevent our troops from shooting at it.
