Now it seems that a particularly virulent strain of liberalism is infecting minds in Germany.
BERLIN (Reuters) - German's security services faced the prospect of a parliamentary inquiry on Friday, triggered by reports that German agents in Baghdad had helped the United States pinpoint bombing targets at the start of the Iraq war.
The opposition Greens said for the first time they would join liberals and leftists to demand an inquiry, into both the Iraq allegations and wider concerns about the role of the security services in the U.S.-led war on terrorism. The three parties between them have enough votes to force such a probe.
"This accusation about the involvement of German authorities in the Iraq war is a monstrous accusation," said Greens parliamentary leader Renate Kuenast.
Media reports on Thursday said two agents of Germany's BND foreign intelligence service in Baghdad had helped the United States identify bombing targets at the outbreak of the Iraq war in 2003, which the Berlin government strongly opposed.
It would be comforting to view this as a European problem, but we certainly have just as many suicidal jackasses in our own country.

Sorry - I don't buy the mental disorder or suicidal aspect of the left. These people are insidious.
Failure and disaster is an option to them. What they cannot achieve through democratic elections - they dream they can achieve "out of the ashes".
They want us and western civilization to collapse - they want chaos and destruction - to them it is their opportunity to take power - and rebuilt a new world in their image.
They are too lame and weak to do it themselves - they need proxies.
The left is dangerous - and liberals are too stupid and faux-understanding to see that. If its any consolation - the first to go in a "new order" would probably be liberals at the hands of the left. The liberals naively believe the left would share power with them and listen to their "voice of moderation (sic)". History tells us otherwise.

You're right hondo, but that doesn't mean that it isn't still a mental disorder. If I built a doomsday device to destroy the world so I could take over, I'd be called crazy, and rightfully so. Well, the libtards' doomsday device is simply their insanity.

This is just more proof that the Germans are mostly unreconstructed fascists, and wouldn't mind another go at global domination themselves. Liberty hangs in the balance for the entire world.

Calling it a mental disorder is a mistake that allows some to dismiss them and still others to feel a lil' sorry for them. They know exactly what their are doing - and love to be under-estimated.
Crazy? Yeah - crazy like a fox! The goal is power - if its on top of a rubble heap it doesn't matter - power is the end - and their goal is to re-build anew in their image.

Since the Greens were a partner in government then, and rabidly oppose Angela Merkel, my bet is that this is just a bit of German politics designed to unseat Merkel as quickly as possible.

Well put.
The inclusion of East Germany is taking its mark on Old Germany. The Western part is a pleasant place to visit and live. The communists from the East, once freed, long for the "old days" when millions were killed and the killers and their cronies were rewarded with cheap bread and the better housing.
The Truth: The Galen Organization began about two weeks after Germany surrendered in WW II. A good read.
