War Porn Video: Deuce Four Stryker Brigades in Action

You may know the Deuce Four (1st Battalion, 24 Infantry Regiment) Stryker Brigades from Michael Yon's time embedded with them in Mosul, Iraq. These guys are the real deal and deserve our utmost appreciation. How brave are they? Just read this account and try not to feel the patriotism swell.

Here is a video produced by the Deuce Four that I found via Doubletap and which I posted over at Google Video. Just press the play button below to watch it.

It's the best kind of porn: Iraq war porn.

2 All that and Rammstein, too? Excellent.

3 The worst part of how politicized the war has become is so many great stories of heroism and awesome deeds go untold. Half the people out there don't want to celebrate our soldiers for fear of being seen as supporting this war. Hopefully down the road this war will be viewed as being universally good, like WWII, and then perhaps there will be enough of a push to tell these stories properly. Until then, we have to put up with papers like the NYT's lamenting that this war hasn't produced any heroes whilst at the same time avoiding any story that casts our actions in a positive light. Nice post.

4 Vastly superior to that last video you put up. No rear support unit with dancing Marines in the barracks area! No offense R Stanton.

6 I watched the video with mixed emotions... This is basically a video of carnage. I look at the faces of our young men and women and wonder how much longer must we go through this? How much longer can a society, the Iraqis, stand having their buildings and cars go boom? Don't get me wrong, I support our action in the middle east. I just question the price paid by our brave military. "If we find you, we will kill you." This sounds good in a sound bite but the fact is that our men and women are doing the killing. Oh, how I wish it weren't so. I note the photo taken by Michael Yong toward the end of the video, that of an American soldier cradeling a young child. I don't know, the entire insanity just breaks my heart. Please God, let all our fighting men be home by barbeque season... The idea that they stand between me and fascism is a terrible thing to contemplate. Thank God they do but, the price extracted on their young lives is unimaginable.

7 Thank you for posting this. My son is near Mosul now with the Army, and he loves Rammstein so much. The political opponents of the war will not celebrate the heroism of the young people who are risking all for us. I wish I could download this for him. Thanks so much.

8 Superb video (except for the gratuitous Satanic Goat's Head image at the very end). Michael Yon gets my vote for the best war-reporter/blogger of the war. I hear Hollywood may make a movie about the Deuce-Four based on Michael Yon's accounts? -- gunjam
