Terrorists' Early Warning System: The New York Times

Evidently, the New York Times is not satisfied with the damage they have already done to US national security by exposing the NSA's secret intercepts of terrorist phone calls into and out of the US. Now they're suing the government to release the names of those surveilled:

The New York Times sued the US Defense Department demanding that it hand over documents about the National Security Agency's domestic spying program.

The Times wants a list of documents including all internal memos and e-mails about the program of monitoring phone calls without court approval. It also seeks the names of the people or groups identified by it.

Yes, by all means, let's warn every suspected terrorist that they're being watched. It's only fair. AJ Strata and macsmind point to this story in The American Spectator, which says that the investigation into the original leak is focusing on the staffs of Democratic Senators Jay Rockefeller and Dick Durbin.

The New York Times has been stonewalling the investigation and this lawsuit could be interpreted as a diversion to take the heat off their snitches.

1 They're blowin' smoke - will never get anything like this. A diversion for J Rockafeller or just running in place with a fading story.

3 Rope. Tree. Seditionists. Some assembly required.

4 Good plan, but technically, it isn't sedition, it's actual treason when one gives aid and comfort, in any form, to the enemy.

5 Hanging is too good for them, Cybrludite. I say one way tickets to Waziristan and let them report or talk their way out. Send me the videos; I'll watch those.

6 You're right, the best way to prevent the spread of Islamofascism is to ruin the privacy of Americans and spy on dissidents. Why don't we just round up all those treasonous reporters and make them do something worthwhile, like reading our mail for the feds?

7 James, Kindly read the history of the battle of Midway and the effect that our SIGINT program had on it. What the NYT has been doing could very well result in the deaths of American citizens.

8 James, why don't you cite something from the post that resembles what you just wrote?

9 James was trying to be clever and snarky, but rather just suggested what he would do were he king. Libtards will tell you everything you need to know about them if you listen; they fear most in others the very things they themselves would do, had they the power unrestrained.
