Prince Harry Fighting to Go to Iraq

Pretty wicked cool. It's about time the Royals did more than blather on about how Islam is peaceful.

Daily Mail:

Prince Harry has threatened to quit the Army if commanders refuse to send him to the front line.

He told senior officers before recently passing out of Sandhurst as a Second Lieutenant: “If I am not allowed to join my unit in a war zone, I will hand in my uniform.”

1 I am giving Harry the benefit of the doubt and assuming it is his commitment to his fellow soldiers that drives him. That would be cool to imagine. My conspiratorial side thinks that it could be a ploy to force Blair's hand into removing troops from Iraq. Something the prince's father (HRH) might have concocted in his capacity as public dissident #1.

2 WOW...kind of interesting to see kids like this grow up into men. I don't see this as some kind of 'ploy', knowing what I know about this upstart youth. And Blair isn't the type to abandon the cause (IMHO).

3 awesome news! hope its inspirationally motivating to others who would otherwise not 'need' to have to go in!

5 Ha ha, "Prince Harry has threatened to quit the Army if commanders refuse to send him to the front line" Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! He would quit the army anyway! For a prince, the army is part of is education to make a man out him! Like heÂ’s probably also learned how to play the piano and some dance steps, how to communicate properly with guests and how to sit right at the dinner table.... But thatÂ’s about it! WasnÂ’t there another Prince,Â…. Andrew I believe (helicopter pilot) in the past that was acting, as would be Rambo!

6 Let the kid get his ass in the grass with the rest of the troops. It'd be good for him, if it doesn't kill him first.

7 Odd isn't it? His dad never met a Muslim he didn't want to kiss and Harry wants to fight 'em.

8 Good for him! That is how it was done in an earlier time. A king had lead his army into battle. That is a far cry from commanding an army. Winston Churchill took his famous ancestor, the 1st Duke of Marlborough, as his role model. He served in the Army as a young man. Western civilization eventually benefited greatly from his experience.

9 This may just be rebellion against his milquetoast father, or maybe he learned how to be a man at Sandhurst, or maybe a little bit of both. Either way, if he does go to fight, he will truly be one of Britain's greatest princes.

10 Harry is alright. He should be the next king...he has more balls than his old man who is a wishy washy muslim lover.

15 What is it with the idiot liberals that are drawn to this blog like moths to a candle? Larry, or asshole, or whatever your name is, you're not even annoying; you're just comically stupid.

16 Love to see what his reaction to the "protestors" for Ummah in Britain would be. My feeling is that it would begin with "Ready...Aim...."
