A Manifesto Against Islamofascism

Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali have signed this letter. Agora:

MANIFESTO:

Together facing the new totalitarianism

After having overcome fascism, Nazism, and Stalinism, the world now faces a new totalitarian global threat: Islamism.

We, writers, journalists, intellectuals, call for resistance to religious totalitarianism and for the promotion of freedom, equal opportunity and secular values for all.

The recent events, which occurred after the publication of drawings of Muhammed in European newspapers, have revealed the necessity of the struggle for these universal values. This struggle will not be won by arms, but in the ideological field. It is not a clash of civilisations nor an antagonism of West and East that we are witnessing, but a global struggle that confronts democrats and theocrats.

Like all totalitarianisms, Islamism is nurtured by fears and frustrations. The hate preachers bet on these feelings in order to form battalions destined to impose a liberticidal and unegalitarian world. But we clearly and firmly state: nothing, not even despair, justifies the choice of obscurantism, totalitarianism and hatred. Islamism is a reactionary ideology which kills equality, freedom and secularism wherever it is present. Its success can only lead to a world of domination: manÂ’s domination of woman, the IslamistsÂ’ domination of all the others. To counter this, we must assure universal rights to oppressed or discriminated people.

We reject « cultural relativism », which consists in accepting that men and women of Muslim culture should be deprived of the right to equality, freedom and secular values in the name of respect for cultures and traditions. We refuse to renounce our critical spirit out of fear of being accused of "Islamophobia", an unfortunate concept which confuses criticism of Islam as a religion with stigmatisation of its believers.

We plead for the universality of freedom of expression, so that a critical spirit may be exercised on all continents, against all abuses and all dogmas.

We appeal to democrats and free spirits of all countries that our century should be one of Enlightenment, not of obscurantism.

2 LOVE FOR GOLD COMES FIRST ************************************ The first issue to be given top priority is : WHY IS THE WEST SO BLIND? Islam is an ideology aimed at dominating the world. What makes it apparently different from Nazism, Fascism and Communism is that Islam comes under the flag of religious belief. Democracy stems from the quest for LIBERTY, it is a bottom-up process : freedom loving ( i.e. submission hating ) people devised Democracy as the best way for governing themselves. The idea of bringing Democracy to ‘submission’ minded peoples is doomed to the bitterest of failures, as adamantly demonstrated by the rise to power of the obscurantist forces of Hamas in Palestine, Shia clerics in Iraq and the coming to prominence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Though sanctioned through publicly held polls, that’s not democracy, that’s tyranny under the travesty of Democracy. Submission minded peoples are bound to be governed either by fascism ( Baath ) or fundamentalism. They still belong to the old ages of SUBJUGATION and that’s what Islam is all about : THE WILL TO SUBJUGATE, the worst scourge that keeps haunting the humanity since the very beginnings. Believing that Islam is just a religion like many others is a lethal misjudgment. Human societies of all kinds have thrived millennia upon slavery in a world where oppression was the norm, while LIBERTY is the antithesis devised — at last — by the human spirit for escaping SUBJUGATION. LIBERTY is very ‘recent’ in human history. It’s enough to have a look at today’s world — 215 years ‘only’ since when the First Amendment was established — to understand that LIBERTY is still tottering and very frail. For the ‘true believers’ the world is divided into two sides: Dar El Islam (the house of the believers) and Dar El Kufr (the house of the infidels). The FIRST duty of a believer is to conquer the land of the infidels and submit them. Submission comes in three choices: 1st is conversion, 2nd is dhimmitude, 3rd is being decapitated. However those who believe that not to be free but instead to be rich should be the main purpose in human life won’t find themselves restrained under Islamic rule. There are no provisions in the Qur’an against being rich and wealth is indeed praised and recommended. Islam is akin to HIV : it takes a very long time for the infected host to recognize the lethal enemy and too often when he does it is too late. There is something in HIV that misleads the immune system into trusting the newcomer as one more member of the family while in reality it is an alien. Would the U.S. have allowed a U.S.S.R. owned company to run their ports’ operations? Well, what the U.S. are doing now with U.A.E. owned DP World is by far worse. But business is business!! And what about America’s open investment policy?? Goddamn those who dare to say that DP World’s takeover of American ports management is not business as usual!! Never seen glittering Dubai’s streets? The big cars and limos, gold and jewels everywhere, the flavor of greenbacks all around, whole armies of obsequious servants, and all the brands of the world available to so-called brand-conscious people. Well, isn’t that what the most of us are dreaming of ? Thus, since we share the same dreams, who dares to say that they aren’t akin to us? In the West unabashed LOVE FOR GOLD stands on top of everything, while LOVE FOR LIBERTY lags by far behind in the values’ ladder. That’s why we get so easily fooled by the virus of “submission”. And when the gates are wide open all kinds of ideological would-be-servants lusting for economical and political rewards hurry up to enroll in the ranks of the 'submission' army: political correctness resulting in toleration of intolerance, lambasting common-sense measures of ethnic and religious profiling, defending heinous women subjugation labeled as a just different lifestyle, laying down the First Amendment on the altar of so-called religious sensitivity… But that’s history already : now both sheer fear in the West and painful defeat in the Middle East are looming large. The alien is taking hold but the infected host still insists upon maintaining that it is just a new a member of the family!! Few links worth to have a look at : The Road To Allah Paved With Gold http://www.allthingsbeautiful.com/all_things_beautiful/2006/02/the_road_to_all.html Did U.A.E. Save Bin Laden? http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=12684 Does anybody understand that Muslims are not requested by their religious ideology to be truthful and loyal to the infidels but on the contrary to deceive the infidels is a believers’ duty stemming from both the requested commitment to Jihad and the requested contempt for the inferior and corrupt disbelievers? Dubai funds Neil Bush's company: From: Datamatix THE POWER OF TRUST [WOW !!!!!!!!!!!! ] http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49012 (SPOT ON!) http://www.datamatixgroup.com/images/bush1.jpg And a lot more queuing up : http://www.datamatixgroup.com/index.asp http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2006/02/somethings_rott.html Someone begins to be aware of how Islam ideology is akin to Nazism, Fascism and Communism. Too little too late? Quote from the Brussels Journal: http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/864#comment ‘The Norwegian human rights think tank Human Rights Service (HRS) recently warned against compromising with Islamists. “There is a gulf between secular democracy and Islamism as a totalitarian ideology which goes hand in hand with fascism, communism and nazism. Indications of the similarities between those ideologies is the Islamists’ derogative views on Jews, that they exalt themselves as superior people, and that they want to subvert secular democracy,” said Hege Storhaug from HRS to the Norwegian newspaper Klassekampen.' The West is on the verge of the catastrophe but total confusion reigns uncontested. Anybody around ready to give up LOVE FOR GOLD on behalf of LIBERTY?

4 How about Zionisto-fascism? Are you going to circulate a manifesto against that evil? You wouldn't want to condemn only one kind of fascism, would you?

5 The bottom line is that Liberalism 2.x isn't really capable of destroying Totalitarianism 3.x, no matter how many feel-good manifestos we write and sign. But it's not that easy to explain what I mean. Andre Amalrik, who wrote Notes of a Revolutionary and Will the Soviet Union Survive Until 1984?, and who was one of the original founders of the Helsinki Accords (and spent years in Soviet gulags) once remarked that Totalitarian propaganda and Madison Avenue advertising were both forms of cultural prostitution. They were both morally degenerate and equivalent. Our Liberalism is naive, which makes it fairly easy to disrupt... and we're fortunate that our enemies are so stupid and inept that they haven't been able to fully exploit these weaknesses. But I don't think the threat will diminish until our fitness has been vastly improved, and much of our naivete' transformed. But you know... if I'm wrong we'll throw a party.

6 Uh, Aloha, since perhaps you haven't noticed and maybe you need to be hit with a bat to wake you up, the Islamic flavor of fascism is hell bent on destroying the World as we know it. I believe we need to focus all our strength on saving the free world, then let's come back and revisit Zionism.

7 Aloha is just another example of why all liberals should be hanged.

8 Isnt Rusty Shackleford the name Dale Gribble uses in King of the Hill? A cartoon character.

9 Here's another gratuitous Star Wars quote, and one I've used for ages now. "Bring it on, I prefer a straight fight to all this sneaking around!" Keep on opening those Western eyes, muslims. Every move you make will only lead to more backlash and education about your "religion of peace". Keep the nonsense coming. Especially those charming cartoonifada protest signs. "God Bless Hitler" is just not a slogan that will help the muslim "cause" in the West, nor is "Prepare fot the REAL holocaust". Keep on getting angry enough to drop the taqiyya for even a moment so that everyone can see the true face of Islam.

10 1990-91: I supported pushing Saddam's troops out of Quwait, was not squemish about the "highway of death" but was torn on the decision to not push on to Baghdad as there would likely have been huge civilian casualties. 1995: I grudgingly conceded that US combat in Bosnia to protect the muslims was probably the right and moral thing to do. 2001: I was for hunting down the terrorist where ever they were, whatever or whoever they were hiding behind. Civilian casualties are an unfortunate consequence of war (which should still try to be minimized) - especially with dishonorable enemies who hide behind women and children as the islamicists do typically. 2005: My patience is running thin and not only am I acknowledging the difficulty in distinguishing regular persons who happen to be muslim from islamic homicidal bomber bastard who needs to be fed into a wood chipper feet first, I am starting to really not care. 2006: That's it! After bombing US, Spain and England and rioting in France and Germany in recent memory, CAIR and muslim communities around the world now whine, bitch and complain about how much they are suffering because of some cartoons published in one newspaper 4 months previously. This is the last straw! Sheep! They are stupid, stupid, stupid sheep being led to slaughter by their imams and mullahs and I no longer care. If I woke up in the morning and read that 25,000,000 islamics/muslims were vaporized overnight, rather than horror and pity I would think 975,000,000 to go ... They have worn me down. They have stripped all sympathy. They have proven themselves to be nothing more than upright chimpanzees who have no ability to control themselves. After 37 years of life, I have shifted from being a fervent supporter of the concept that every man should be judged on his own merits to first assuming that a middle easterner or muslim is most likely a bleating, terrorist, totalitarian, sharia supporting enemy of the freedoms that my forefathers have fought for since the 1620s on this soil. The Bosnians were apparently doing the right thing. They were cutting out the cancer. (yeah, I'm feeling a little bit radical and p.o.'d right now) Sign me up to the manifesto.

12 I have to say this is your own fault. Particulary the UK. Muslims were monecodled as they came with other asians, but you have to understand that those ones who integrated in the early days of immigration were not muslims, but Sikhs & hindus & some christians who were from india. The later influx largely from Pakistan bangladesh were Muslim, but the west just saw all browns as the same, and even once distinguished, you have to understand that we in the east kept muslims in line through violence as that is the only language they understand. Not to attack them but to defend, to stop them imposing their views on the rest of the society. To me out of al the religions in the world they are the least closest to god.
