Follow up here.
I read that last night, which is when I should've posted those links. But then I got my face buried in a bottle of Glenfiddich 18 year old single malt and Robert Spencer's A Politically Incorrect Guide To Islam (And The Crusades).
I offer no additional commentary, since B.C. at the Rott is asking all the right questions.
The lovely and gracious Wild Thing has nice big color glossies suitable for printing and dartboards. Or the shootin' range.
Update: Whoops, looks like I missed Howie's posting about this story. Sorry dude.
Update, Too: Kos Kiddie laughs it up, earns Dhimmi of the Week Award.

I hope this one is accurate, Actually I hope itÂ’s not.
Sunday Times : A SENIOR member of an Islamic organisation linked to Al-Qaeda is funding his activities through the kidnapping of Christian children who are sold into slavery in Pakistan.Same here, It seems that Hamas and al-Zarqawi are working closer together. It seems logical, I hope itÂ’s accurate. Maybe a conspiracy, so IÂ’ll go with two sources. The Sunday Times has established that Gul Khan, a wealthy militant who uses the base of Jamaat-ud Daawa (JUD) near Lahore, is behind a cruel trade in boys aged six to 12.
(IsraelNN.com) A terrorist gang which used the name Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for Saturday's assassination attempt against Palestinian Authority (PA) intelligence chief Tareq Abu Rajab, who was seriously injured in a bomb blast.Source Two
Middle East Times : PARIS -- A group calling itself Al Qaeda in Palestine said it carried out a bombing against the Palestinian intelligence chief and threatened more attacks in a statement posted on the Internet on Sunday.Either these men belong on the short bus or else something fishy is going on. Michelle Malkin thinks so, IÂ’ll defer to her judgement since I donÂ’t have any."We declare our full responsibility for this operation," the group said in the statement, whose authenticity could not be independently verified. "Your mujahideen brothers managed to place a bomb in the special lift used by the apostate Tareq Abu Rajab ... but were hasty in detonating the device which should have been triggered once the lift door was closed."
TBO : TAMPA - Two Saudi men were arrested Friday after they boarded a school bus and rode to Wharton High School in New Tampa.Whew IÂ’m nervous, Ok what else Â…Speaking of Short Busses, not related to anything just very wierd (bad gay warning last link)Students on the bus became alarmed, as did the bus driver, who called ahead. Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies met the bus at the school and detained the men. No one was injured and nothing out of line occurred on the bus, deputies said.
TAMPA - A judge revoked bail for two Saudi men arrested Friday for boarding a school bus and riding to Wharton High.
Hamas and Fatah donÂ’t like each other very much.
Times Online: Tension between victorious Hamas and defeated Fatah have flared into violence in recent weeks, especially in the Islamist groupÂ’s Gaza stronghold. Hamas controls the Palestinian Parliament but Mr Abbas remains the figurehead President, with both sides vying for control of the security forcesThat one seemed pretty safe.
Iraqi Prime Minister Vows to use “Maximum Force” to end the violence. Hey are they like the A-Team?
Yahoo News: Al-Maliki decried what he called "sectarian cleansing."Well that’s the real trick, aint it kid? He is right though, failure to disarm the militias right at the start was an error. At least I think it may have been an error. I’ve not met these “Maximum Force” guys yet. Who are they?"The militias, death squads and the killings are all abnormal phenomena," he said. "We should finish the issue of militias because we cannot imagine a stability and security in this country with the presence of militias that kill and kidnap."

Lefty raises his left arm.
Mr. al-Fascidullah, “Yes you may speak.”
Lefty, "ItÂ’s hard to write with your left hand."
Teacher, "Yes Lefty. That is hard. Now every religion other than Islam isÂ….?
Hands raise, “Yes Abdullah?”
Abdullah, “Every religion other than Islam is false and whoever dies outside of Islam enters hellfire!”
Mr. al-Fascidullah, “Very good Abdulla! Next question, True belief means?
Hyperactive Mahmood jumps in enthusiastically, "True belief means . . . that you hate the polytheists and infidels but do not treat them unjustly! Just punishment for infidels is Death!”
Mr. al-Fascidullah, “Mahmood! Just punishment for speaking out of turn is?
Mahmood, sheepishly, “My right arm.”
Mr. al-Fascidullah, “One more time young man! But since you are correct I’ll show mercy this time. You really are a good student, you just need more patience. Next questions, Jews are apes Christians are….?
Hands up, “Yes you Fes al-Amerinfidel, our exchange student from the Saudi Islamic School in America, What are they teaching you there?
Fes Recites faithfully, "As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus."
"They are the Jews, whom God has cursed and with whom He is so angry that He will never again be satisfied [with them]."
"Some of the people of the Sabbath were punished by being turned into apes and swine. Some of them were made to worship the devil, and not God, through consecration, sacrifice, prayer, appeals for help, and other types of worship. Some of the Jews worship the devil. Likewise, some members of this nation worship the devil, and not God."
Mr. al-Fascidullah surprised, “Very good! Ok students, we are out of time, It’s time for another special film presentation in the Gym. Today’s movie is titled, Ten Reasons Allah Wants You to Martyr Yourself…
Â…Oh, And donÂ’t forget Blood money for a free infidel is half of the blood money for a male Muslim, whether or not he is 'of the book' or not 'of the book. Blood money for a woman: Half of the blood money for a man, in accordance with his religion. The blood money for a Muslim woman is half of the blood money for a male Muslim, and the blood money for an infidel woman is half of the blood money for a male infidel.
It will be on the test! Dismissed.”

This is Amir Taheri of Canada’s National Post Article on the “Iranian Uniform Law” published yesterday. Despite the fact there is some confusion about exactly what the law’s results will be, it is none the less disturbing given even a best case scenario.(quoet move to extended entry)
Others following include Power Line, Little Green Footballs and Allah at Hot Air who points out that I missed this article, it was part of the original two published yesterday. Hey, I can't be everywhere. We're not all Blog Gods like he is.
Some "informed" bloggers think(cough) because some of the details were wrong, this excuses the fact the pending law is oppressive even without those provisions.

Via Clint W. Taylor at Townhall :Harrassed by the religious Police? Do they have those in Iran too? I'd rather be harrassed by the Iranian's. They might hang me from a crain, but they would probably just jail me, beat me, fine me, and release me. The Taliban would probably just start sawing right away.
he told UPI's Arnaud De Borchgrave how wonderful it was that the Taliban assigned yellow identity badges to their religious minorities (in this case Hindus). It was, said Hashemi, for their own good:Yale Taliban, Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi --On distinctive patches to be worn by non-Muslims: "Everything we decide is immediately castigated as worthy of history's bloodthirsty dictators. This decision was designed to protect Hindus who kept complaining to us that they were being harassed by the religious police for not going to the mosque at prayer time."

From MyWay.com:
Two major cabinet posts remain to be filled, the interior minister and the defense minister. The session began more than two hours late because of last-minute haggling, finally opening with readings from the Quran.
The 37-member Cabinet is made up of members from all of Iraq's religious, sectarian and ethnic groups. It took months of negotiations to form after the Dec. 15 elections and is Iraq's first constitutional government since the U.S. invasion toppled Saddam.
"This is a historic day for Iraq and all its people," deputy parliament speaker Khalid al-Attiyah said in a nationally televised news conference before the session. "This government represents all Iraqis."
Maybe it's just my ignorance, but it seems that the formation of a new government in Iraq is a milestone event worth trumpeting. Text books tell us that the colonies took considerably longer than three years to cast off the shackles of tyranny and establish the United States so, not only is the creation of a constitutional democracy in Iraq a major event in world history, it was accomplished in record time when compared to America. However, despite my beliefs, a search through the mainstream media reveals the story getting ho-hum mention and usually it's sandwiched between graphically reported segments showing violence in the streets.
Nonetheless, I congratulate the citizens of the nation of Iraq.

Well, every dog has his day, I guess.
Turns out the story about the attempted suicide in Gitmo was more attempted than suicide:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Ten Guantanamo prisoners lured U.S. guards into a cell with a staged suicide attempt, then attacked them with light fixtures, fan blades and other improvised weapons while guards fired rubber balls and used a grenade launcher to subdue them, U.S. officials said on Friday.
The blog-grandfather (stein hoist for the Reuters link) speculates that it coincides with the reported release of 16 Saudi prisoners.
I think it has more to do with the simple fact that Gitmo is populated with people who want to kill Americans no matter what. Either that, or the inmates heard about the so-called UN Human Rights Commission demand that Gitmo be shut down, and tried to create an international outcry.
So sad that they were betrayed by of all sources, MargaReuterville.
Stein hoist to co-blogger Bluto for the MSNBC link. Dude, you should update and stuff.

"If you did have such an occurrence, whether it was in Iran or elsewhere, it would certainly be despicable," US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said in Washington. "I think it has clear echoes of Germany under Hitler."
What makes me laugh is that our policy towards Iran has clear echoes of Britain under Chamberlain.

Fascist neocon House Rethuglikkkans passed a bill today that would force all Commie symp, leftist, BDS suffering Koskid moonbats to identify themselves with a yellow stripe down the back.
The bill has yet to go to the Senate, where, if approved, would be sent up for blessings by our wise and all-knowing Emperor ChimpyMcBusHitler. Assuming he can tear himself away from talking to God and exterminating all of the brown people for a few minutes.
This story has yet to be confirmed.

Yahoo News :His brother, Mohammed al-Nuaimi, said the family had been told by the government that he was free, but they did not know how his release came about. It could be insurgent leaders were uncomfortable with these illegal terror tactics. Still does not excuse taking him to start with. I like it when it ends this way ,especially after only three days. Reports are no demands (at least the public ones) were met."The officials just told us that he was released and he was on his way to the embassy," al-Nuaimi said from his home in Dibba, a town in the southern Emirates.
"We have no details on how he has been released."
Update 18:51 CDT : Still no confirmation he has arrived safely.
Update 05/20 : Still no confirmation. We pray we have it soon. It seems there has been a snag develop.
NDTV : The government declined to comment on the reported release, but the official news agency WAM reported that the UAE charge d'affairs in Baghdad, Ali Seif al-Kaabi, had returned home to brief the Foreign Ministry on the latest developments in the kidnapping. In Baghdad, Lt Col Falah al-Mohamedawi of the Iraqi Interior Ministry said the government has imposed an official blackout on news of any prospective release of the UAE diplomat

Free Republic : Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.I know, Iran can save help out their budget by adopting the old Nazi patches. They are hip, already designed and cheap to make, Then force non-Muslims to buy them as a Dhimmi tax. This Islamic rule thingy is like Nazism for Dummies."This is reminiscent of the Holocaust," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. "Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis."
Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical "standard Islamic garments."
The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.
Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.
"There's no reason to believe they won't pass this," said Rabbi Hier. "It will certainly pass unless there's some sort of international outcry over this."
Hat Tip: Son of the Godfather.
Update : Some say this is not in the law. The Original story is here.
From the Jerusalem Post : The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations released a statement saying, "We have been seeking to clarify these reports but do not yet have confirmation. There are clear indications that various Iranian government agencies, including the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, are working on new uniforms to be introduced in the fall."While such legislation would be reminiscent of dark periods in the past, like the Nazi era when Jews and others had to wear identifying badges, it is also consistent with the racist and extremist ideology propagated by President Ahmadinejad.
We are monitoring the situation and seeking to ascertain the facts in order to determine the appropriate response."
Allahpundit is keeping us updated.
Debka Via Allahpundit at Hot Air : However, the law has not been finally enacted, and speakers in the majlis debate proposed that non-Muslim minorities be made to wear distinctive clothes, yellow being the preferred color for Jews.So the law is only to further regulate the dress of Muslims with proposals to designate Jews and other minorities. That is rather oppressive in itself for Muslims subject to this “Islamic State Dress Code”. But I guess if Iran oppresses it’s own people that’s just OK. Imagine if our president asked for a strict conservative Christian national Dress code? Also it seems if Muslims are “in uniform” it gets pretty easy to tell who “the others” are. Including Muslims who resist this mandate. The fact that this proposal was even made speaks volumes. The bill in question aims primarily at countering the revolt against black Muslim dress” as the hot summer approaches and Iranians – especially women - take to light clothing. At the end of the majlis debate, the final draft will be put to the vote; with or without the proposed discriminatory clauses remains to be seen.

Reuters :DUBAI, May 18 (Reuters) - An Iraqi group on Thursday issued a video of a United Arab Emirates diplomat kidnapped in Baghdad, and demanded that the Gulf state close its embassy in Iraq, Al Jazeera television reported. The group name seems to me a cover for an al-Qeada type terror cell. This has all the hallmarks of previous kidnappings only the name is new.The channel aired the video from the group calling itself Islam's Banner which showed a man standing next to a wall. No audio could be heard on the brief footage.
The group issued a 24-hour ultimatum for its demands to be met.
Diplomat Naji al-Noaimi was snatched on Tuesday following a short drive from the embassy to visit a colleague. His driver was shot in the kidnapping and later died of his wounds.
"The group demanded in a message accompanying the video ... that the UAE embassy in Baghdad be closed and al-Fayha channel which broadcasts from Dubai be shut down," Al Jazeera said.
