It is supposed to be part 1 of a 2 part series in which they promise to show a cartoon of Muhamme drinking tea with Peter Griffin, of Family Guy, which they buy from Mr. T. I pity the fool who dares censor next week's episode. At the very end of the show Trey Parker and Matt Stone literally dared Comedy Central to cenosr them

I watched this episode, and it was f***ing funny. But I felt like it wasn't mocking Muslims so much, as making fun of the reaction of America and other Western nations to the whole Denmark Muhammed cartoons. oh, and of course it took the piss out of family guy. Yeah, Muslims were portrayed as over reacting, but the real target was the pussy TV execs who pander to certain groups demands.

They wimped out. They censored the cartoon just like they've pulled the Scientology episode from rotation. I know it's just a commedy network but sadly they are the only dissitant(sp?) voice on television (e.g. Daily Show)
What we were taught in school about the bill of right and the fourth estate isn't so true anymore...
Anyone who thinks this is about Muslims is wrong. This is about freedom of speech.

That's the great thing about South Park, they don't care if they offend anyone, Carlos Mencia is the same way. Comedy Central pussed out on this issue, but they did it worse with the whole Tom Cruise/Scatology, uh... I mean Scientology bit. These guys just say all of the things that most of us think but would get in trouble for saying. (Just look up the lyrics for The Clash's song "Know Your Rights")

This episode wasn't just about the muhammed cartoons, it was also about the scientology episode getting pulled. Stan actually says in the episode that if one episode (of family guy) gets pulled then it'll just make it easier the next time.This is what Comedy Central are doing to Southpark. They should of left the scientology episode, I mean you can't deny that is an evil orginisation. They just went for the muhammed Cartoon to prove a point. I think Comedy central played right into Trey & Matts hands personally

Mass Murder at Mosque in Iraq
At some point even the term homicide-bomber becomes too PC to describe the evil. Let's call these people what they really are: mass murderers. I wonder if the U.N. will look into these clear violations of the Geneva Conventions?
When American soldiers kill terrorists operating out of a mosque and holding hostages there, they are accused of all sorts of vile things. But when mass-murdering Muslims proudly and purposefully target civilians at mosques, it is simply part of 'sectarian violence'. Our neutral media at work.
At least 69 people were killed and 130 injured today when three suicide bombers, at least one of whom was a woman, blew themselves up in and around the Bratha mosque, one of the most important Shiite mosques in the capital.Rescuers, including Iraqi security forces and volunteers, sorted among the gore of severed body parts to find and treat the living.
Asked how he knew a woman was involved, a mosque worker pointed at a body part that still had pantyhose attached. "There she is," he said.

Hey, I'm all for Red-on-Red incidents. You guys forget that the Shiites are only cooperating because Bush is giving them a free hand to set up an Islamic Republic (or, at the very least, the prerequisites for it in the constitution) in Iraq.
Even if we withdraw relatively soon and the Iraqi forces put down the insurgency, we'll be back in a few years. You can thank our brave crusader for democracy, Bush, for that one. If he put aside his religious (and false) conviction that "the human soul yearns to be free" he might have actually accomplished something, but alas.

If the perps had represented a group whom the press despises, for example if these had been fundamentalist Christians who blew themselves up in an abortion clinic, I think the word used would be the same--"suicide bomber."
I could be wrong, but it makes a nice thought-experiment anyway. In my mind's eye I'm picturing the press handling a hypothetical anti-abortion bombing differently, but mainly in that they would focus on the motives of the individual attackers rather than ascribe the incident to "ongoing tensions over the question of abortion." The reason why they're not doing that in the case of the mosque bombings has to do with their emotional distance from the readership. Understandably, nobody in America cares who did it, so the press just lumps it under the rubric of "sectarian violence."

Abortion clinic bombings and Klan killings are about as common as Ted Kennedy observing the catechism of the Church. ItÂ’s funny to me how many times the left trots these two out to try and twist and turn them into some kind of rationalization for mass murder.
It obviously pains them a great deal to call a Muslim mass murder what he/she is. I wonder why.

They don't call it "murder" because "murder" is too vague for people who deserve to be paid for journalism. It doesn't have anything to do with who does it. If I make a bomb vest and detonate myself down at the courthouse, the papers aren't going to report this under the head, "Disgruntled Seattle Man Murders 70 at Courthouse." This would be misleading and everybody, including you and Dr. Shackleford, would assume that I went on a rampage with a gun. Murdering people with bombs is more spectacular than other methods so "bomber" trumps "murderer" in journalese, which is why the papers called Timothy McVeigh a bomber, not a murderer even though he was just the sort whom they would want to demonize.

Wow, there is a lot of hatred on this board. And a lot of hatred in America. I always wondered what fueled it, and I think a lot of it has to do with bad journalism. From FOX News to Al Jazeera, we give the public the most dumbed down version of what is going on in the world. These manupulating agencies decide that we can only handle one or two views of what is going on. I cringe whenever I see that mock sincerity in a reporter's or anchor's eyes.
I started reading a little more of "The Economist". It seems to have well informed reporters that aren't afraid to write the entire story. And they also provide an educated viewpoint, which really opens up issues for intelligent debate. The Christian Science Monitor does a good job of this also, despite the name (never judge a publication with its obvious religous connection). Other publications like WSJ, NYT, and the Washington Post seem to do alright for the most part, but never seem to really dig deep enough and find out the true motives and bring real objectivity to their stories. But they too often succumb to the temptation of sloppy, Red vs Blue journalism and don't mind lowering the intellectual bar if it means that more emotions will get riled up and therefore, more copies will sell.
We need to stop consuming this kind of media. We want it to reaffirm our deeply held beliefs that our political party is great and our religion is the best, but it is really degrading the American culture. It takes a lot of guts to step outside and say, "Maybe my answers aren't right". But I don't think this type of journalism will ever get away from the spotlight in the near (or far) future.
Every blog I visit is biased, and this one is no exception. I rarely ever visit a blog twice because of this. I've stopped watching Bill Orielly because I don't like the way he smirks at his viewers and interrupts his guests, intentionally trying to provoke a response; he's a bully. I stopped reading Al Franken because he is too vidictive to his opponents, and too lenient to his friends; he's a hypocrite. This type of media is poison for us, but we can't get enough of it. Please don't read it or watch it anymore.
I'm kind of glad I'm away from it all. If I was back in the states, I might be inclined to find a group of people that agree with my ideas and sit tight. Being overseas forces me to talk to and tolerate people I might have brushed off in the past. Well, I gotta go to bed, it's late here. Sorry if this didn't make a whole lot of sense, but I read a lot of inane posts, and I thought you could at least read one of mine as well.

That's why I don't read any of that crap. If I buy a paper, it's because I'm cleaning my windows or lining my bird cage. Every single one is biased in one direction or another yet, they all call themselves "unbiased". Ptooey. If I read a link to one of their stories, I see it only for its entertainment value. If I want opinion, there are millions of blogs out there. It's the only place you can get real people's opinions and you can always tell who's thinking for themselves and who's just regurgitating the stories from the "papers of record".

Actually chez, a study by John Derbyshire in China showed that only 10% of the people there put freedom and liberty at the top of their wish list, and only 1% of those felt strongly enough about it that they did whatever they had to do to get out of China. Ninety percent had propsperity at the top of their list. I'm betting most peoples everywhere are similar: Think with the belly instead of the brain.
What I find curious is a female suicide bomber wearing panty hose. Doesn't seem like kosher (sorry) Islam to me.

Jesus, I don't know why you guys hate others so much. It's really weird. I didn't say I didn't read the WSJ and NYT or find all their articles worthless, I just said they seem to kneel to the consumer more often than keep their journalistic integrity high. I am more cautious when I read them. But don't assume I let my guard down when I read other news sources that I respect. You immediately found something you didn't like about my post and decided to attack me without giving me the benefit of the doubt. Holy crap. If you have valid arguements against some of the publications I mentioned, please give me reasonable answers why, not flamebait. What you guys wrote could have been written in a much less venomous tone and I would have read and taken it in. But this anger just builds these walls of ignorance. Oh well.
I didn't want to bring this up (because I didn't want it to color my arguements), but the reason why I am in Europe is because I am stationed here. I enlisted in the USAF for 6 years after 9/11 happened, and I have since been to Korea, Germany, and Iraq. I don't want you to suddenly agree with me now, I just wanted to inform you so that you knew the conditions on why I am here. I am stationed at Spangdahlem AB, Germany with the 52d Communications Squadron.
Obviously, I am in the wrong place. I walked into the snake pit of partisan extremists. Looks like I won't be posting here anymore. I seriously hope that you don't treat your friends, family, or neighbors who think differently than you like you treat the guests on this board.

Concerning the pantyhose, I was surprised by this as well when I was in Baghdad. The women are not under extreme Islamic rule over there, so they are allowed out without head covering, and can wear pants and skirts and go walking without a man. I wasn't in Afganistan, but I've seen pictures my friends sent back, and talked to people that have been there and they told me it's much more strict over there (I hear they don't like people who convert from Islam too much either).

The absurd claim that people yearn to be free is false. Some people do, to be sure, and I am happy for them. But all? Nowhere close.
Just watch Iraq and Aghanistan. There is a reason the founding fathers were all against democracy - reason #1 is that when you leave a choice open to "the people," you don't often get whats best. But Iraq's constitution is a horrible pulp that will not prevent any power-hungry imam from pushing Islamofacism on the country.

Three Christians Await Execution in Indonesia
If these guys are guilty of involvement in a massacre that killed over 200--mostly women and children, let me volunteer my services for the firing squad. However, the Indonesian court system is based on Islamic law and, as we have noted here on several occasions, is a complete sham. Not a single Muslim has been brought to justice for the killing of Christians during the same period--even though far more Christians were killed in the sectarian violence than Muslims. Not. A. Single. One.

Indonesian law is not based on Islamic law, it is based on Dutch law with some revisions having been made over time. There are some attempts to introduce aspects of Islamic law but these mainly occur at the local level.

Indonesian law is not based on Islamic law, it is based on Dutch law with some revisions having been made over time.
But apparently the Indonesian government selectively decides when to apply that Dutch law (only against christians)-- that's the islam part.

Independtly of the awe I have at the ideas of the massacres that were conducted by both sides in Sulawesi, I want to stress the issue of death penalty.
It is certainly not a way to solve the violence, especially political or community violence by creating three martyrs.
Also, the trials were not really fair, with the presence of an angry armed crowd intimidating the court and their lawyers.
Execution of these men would also kill some useful witnesses if some other persons were to be tried in conjunction with these acts.
Finally, execution is a blattant violation of human rights as a cruel treatment negating the right to life. (You may find more information in the attached website).
I believe that Indonesia should join all the countries that have abolished this cruel penalty and as a first step comute these death penalties to life in prison.

Rusty is Back--Repentance Time
Thanks, once again, to those who offered their condolences at the passing of my friend. The funeral was held yesterday and I had the privilege of speaking at it. My friend was so beloved by all that the 700 seat auditorium that we rented for it was too small to hold all the mourners. It was standing room only.
While I'm thinking about it, let me personally thank the minister of the First Baptist Church for denying our request to use his enormous church because our faith wasn't 'Christian' enough for him. Oh, and thanks for instructing your A/V people who volunteered to help out with the funeral, to edit out those parts of the slideshow homage of my friend which weren't orthodox enough for you. That's really classy.
Anyway, the whole tragedy has given me a renewed perspective on things that matter.
Let me publicly apologize for offenses given or taken on this blog. I'll try to be slower to dish it out in the future, and think things through before writing.
Anyway, it's back to the grind for me.

Myself too, Rusty. I go to a First Baptist Church, and it has been used on many occasions by others, including a funeral for a man from a small town who was known and well respected throughout the county, but went to a small church that would only seat 20. I'm ashamed to be in the same faith as that First Baptist Church that acted in such an un-Christian manner. Please accept my apologies for such an ignorant bunch of, dare I say, hypocrits.

IÂ’m very sorry for your loss. I to have been though this, just last Oct. my Stepfather and again last month, my Mother In-law. Unfortunately this sort of thing happens far too often. This is one reason why after being raised Catholic, and then at 14 becoming Born Again in a Baptist church that I found men will fail us, because we are all sinners and imperfect. I have since been a Non-denominational Bible believing Christian (Follower of Christ) for many years and have been going to a Non-denominational Church. They just plainly and simply go by what Gods word says without the denominational walls getting in the way. IÂ’ve found that Jesus was, is and always will be truth, the way, the life and totally peace, light and pure love. He never fails us, ever.
I think things like this happen because Satan is always trying to trip us up and get us mad at God and religion. One of his most effective ways is to do it through people, especially those who are Pastors and Teachers. Most people, who leave their Faith, leave because of something that some other man or woman has done.

Listen, these people are more in a snit over how this makes Wilson look like a boob, and thereby makes them look like boobs for putting him on a pedestal, than anything.
And when Bush said he wanted to find the leaker, he was referring to who leaked Plame's name, not who leaked the NIE information. Many of the commenters in the MMA article are a bunch of boobs implying the latter. Some have legitimate questions, but the "leaking" of information in the NIE and the leaking of Plame's name are different issues. They're trying to make them the same thing. Plame's name merely came up because of the nature of the issue and her husband's involvement in trying to lead others to believe that there was never even any meetings between Saddam's cronies and the purveyors of uranium. We know there were meetings. And Plame was a high profile figure more by her own actions than anything.
And if they're trying to nail Bush with something here, then why is Wilson left to strut around the country like a peacock given a free pass by the left; especially after his ridiculous NYT piece? Why? Because he was clever enough not to blatantly lie and only strongly imply, by ommission, that nothing was going on between Iraq and Niger? Bush claimed Iraq was "pursuing" yellowcake, not that they had purchased it. But Wilson's piece implies the latter and uses that as the basis for his piece to discredit Bush.
If they'd just stick to the matter of whether or not Libby told a lie it would be different. But they're grasping at straws to keep this non-issue alive.

By itself, this leak issue probably means little. Yes, as President, George Bush cannot technically leak classified information because the very action of leaking it also declassifies it. And yes, his original promise to remove leakers in his administration was made in reference to the Plame case.
Add this latest incident to the many, many other questionable revelations that keep cropping up, however -- even within the Republican Party -- and you get a picture of an administration all-to willing to break it own rules to cover its tail and/or advance its grip on power, whether it harms the nation or not.

That's where you're wrong. We don't back this "retarded theft/handout system". And trying to find a scapegoat is the furthest thing from the truth. The way most of us feel is that if one deserves help then others should find it in their hearts to help. Indiscriminate charity will be our downfall of this country. And when people are flowing across the border and abusing what system we do have, right or wrong, we get a little perturbed. There are American citizens who need help and are suffering because the system can't accomodate them for all the abuses. And yes, some Americans abuse the system too. They're not off the hook. but we'll deal with our own and Mexico should do the same.
Frankly, I find your inuendos that we are hateful or discriminatory, simply on the basis of one's origin, insulting. When Mexico shows no concern for who comes to the US, via the Mexican/American border, even if they're not Mexican, then we have issues. Especially when they reciprocate by throwing a "gringo" in one of their hole-in-the-wall prisons to be forgotten forever over the most petty of issues - unless they can grease someone's palm and pay their way out.
These people who come over here illegally and send their earnings back to support their families then criticize us for asking that they go through the proper channels aren't doing their families or anyone any favors. They're perpetuating the corruption in the Mexican government by allowing them to continue to ignore their own economic woes, yet, they demand that we accomodate them by fixing our system to suit them.
That's about as simple as I can put it.

I disagree, Howie - execute him now and just get it over with. It doesn't matter if he's considered a martyr. Nowadays in the Islamic world, EVERYONE, so long as they died, be it fighting the enemy or killed by their own is considered a martyr. The US held back on offing Moqtada Al Sadr for the same reason every time his militia has acted up. It hasn't done any good. Moussoui should have died a long time ago.

If they start a war, they won't be able to live in any part of the South for too long, except maybe Florida and Atlanta.

IM you are so right about southerners. Contrary to popular belief, there is less racism in the rural south than there is in any urban setting anywhere in the country. Far less. The people are much friendlier and neighbors help each other out with no expectations.
I would ask one thing though in regards to Florida. North Florida is quite different than South Florida. So when referring to us Floridians, that distinction must be made. South Florida is a bastion of liberalism and lefties. We in North Florida are "southerners". We still know what hospitality is and what it means to have manners.

What the hell, I don't mind NBC going to a NASCAR race, even if it is for baiting purposes — with a few conditions. First, if they're really going to "prove" something (and I use the term loosely), let's not limit it to "flag-wavin' Southern redneck" events; do the same thing at Fenway, at a West-Coast PGA tournament, at a Midwestern Six Flags amusement park, and any place else where large numbers of people gather. Then one could at least draw some slightly - and only slightly - more legit (for TV news anyway) conclusions. Seriously, wouldn't it be revealing if the "A-rabs" got their lynching at The Masters rather than The Brickyard?

Now that would be interesting, and it also might give all those NASCAR fans something to worry about, as a terrorist bombing by radical Muslims is much more likely than an attack on a Muslim by NASCAR fans.
I doubt whether actus and his ilk would be very concerned about a terrorist attack at a NASCAR event anyway. They would probably say serves them right. That king of hate is what drives these NBC bigots to target NASCAR in the first place.

I don't know about any of these examples, they're all conjecture, but if NBC is trying to prove bigotry at the typical NASCAR event, and they show that a Muslim got his ass kicked by asking directions to the can or something, it'll mean nothing unless the same thing takes place at other events deemed less "Southern." If NBC is smart, they'll spread the experiment around.

I was listening to “The Herd” on ESPN this am and they were talking about this. I guess it is true. Hard to believe NBC would put their NASCAR investment in jeopardy to appease Rock Phillips and his arrogant pals in the news division.
NASCAR fans are very loyal to the sponsors and go out of their way to buy the goods and services advertised on the cars. Reason enough for these companies to pay all that money to get their name on the hood. IÂ’m sure the reverse of this will be true as well. Any company dumb enough to buy airtime for Dateline will probably feel it in the pocketbook.
Note to NBC: If you want to see real discrimination and intolerance, park an SUV with “W” and “Abortion is Murder” bumper stickers around the green lake area of Seattle and leave it for a day. Pick up the rig at 5 and see how tolerant the left really is.

Oyster, the term "Florida Cracker" is in reference to the old Florida cowboys who rounded up the wild cattle left by the Spanish; apparently they used bullwhips like the Australians instead of lariats like the Western cowboys, and so were "whipcrackers". The term "cracker" applied by blacks to Southen whites in general also refers to whipcrackers, but as slave masters, not cattle drivers. I could be wrong, but what research I've done, including talking to a couple of old-timers, bears this out.

I see it happening more and more often. Illegal aliens are either not prosecuted for crimes or they are treated leniently. Maybe it's because the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. just grows and grows. Nonetheless, it makes no sense for the justice system to view illegals differently from actual American citizens. Pretty soon, actual Americans would be well advised to just say "No speakie English" on all traffic stops. It's a free pass.

As a conservative immigration attorney I need to weigh in on this. In this particular case the alien is guilty of what's called an "aggravated felony" under immigration law. After he is deported ("removed" is the technical term post 1996), he can NEVER come back to the USA legally. If he returns and is caught, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
And the Feds DO prosecute these matters. I had one case where we were asked to defend a guy from Honduras who returned to see his newborn child. Only problem was he had a conviction for having sex with another, underage female, and had previously been removed for it. When he was caught, he wound up getting sentenced by a federal judge to three years.
The Feds especially don't like violent criminals coming back in violation of prior removal orders.

Wow, three years in the slammer is REAL punishment for statutory rape. I think 30 years would have been more like it, and hard labor at that. Perhaps these illegals would decide the US was not such a gravy train after all.
Wasn't there a recent case in Denver where an illegal alien murdered a police officer? And other cases in California where illegals are committing felonies that either go unpunished or they get favorable treatment.

There was a lot of blame here for all. I ride here in New York City, I would never ride intoxicated, it is just too dangerous

This creation of a two tiered legal system is (among) the issues worth rising up and shuting down the system over.
I sit in court repeatedly and see illegals (non English speakers) given interpreters, heard first ahead of citizens and receiving half or less fines than citizens and less time or no time served compared to us sucker tax payors.

We need a wall, we need troops on the border, we need undocumented aliens deported upon discovery, we need a heavy fine for employers hiring illegals with a bounty paid for turning them in and we need to end completely moslem imigration to name some simple common sense URGENT starting points.
I'm watching for suggestions for depriving the parties, the "representatives", the governments of money and cooperation in a meaningful way.

Apparently, the Revolutionary Guards, the elite branch of Iran's military, have been holding their maneuvers -- code-named the "Great Prophet" - since Friday, touting what they call domestically built technological advances in their armed forces. If these people weren't so dangerous, they'd be nothing less than comical. It's hard to believe that these people are adults, they're more like children living in a child's world.

I've been looking at that picture of the Iranian "flying boat" and as best as I can tell it's not a flying boat at all. It's really a Wing In Ground (WIG) Effect craft, hence the description of it flying low off the water. The Russians had a huge experimental version back in the 1980s called the Ekranoplan which was envisioned as an amphibious transport. High speed transportation is what these things are regarded as being best suited to, plus they're only efficient at very large scales. So their "super moden flying boat" has been around since the 1960s and is very sensitive to weather and sea conditions.....i.e. still useless as a weapons platform.

This raises a couple of questions for me..
1) Will they reject Spainish as their language? that was introduces by the Spainards WAYYY back in the 1500 and 1600s or so..
2) Will they reject Christianity as well and revert back to human sacrifice like that Aztecs did? Okay, so maybe not the human sacrifice.. (insert your own virgin joke here)

The video includes images that would probably rile those who today are calling for the most restrictive immigration laws. At one point, Bush is shown waving a Mexican flag. The footage was shot, Sosa said, during a Mexican Independence Day parade in San Antonio in 1998, when Bush was running for reelection as governor.
The five-minute video, narrated by Bush, opens with an image of him fishing on his property near Crawford, Texas, as he essentially described millions of Americans who populate his home state as the true foreigners in someone else's native land.
"About 15 years before the Civil War, much of the American West was northern Mexico," Bush says in the video. "The people who lived there weren't called Latinos or Hispanics. They were Mexican citizens, until all that land became part of the United States.
"After that, many of them were treated as foreigners in their own land," Bush adds.
He says the "Latino spirit" was fueled by "strong conservative values" of family, a strong work ethic, faith in God, patriotism and personal responsibility. "These values are my values," Bush says. "I live by them, and I lead by them."

The Aztecs never ventured as far north as the Mexican border. Like Rome, in the day, they ran operations from their capital and extracted rents from tribes as many and distant as possible. Unlike the Romans, they weren't that big into road building: Cortez found nothing but trails. Not surprisingly, they didn't establish garrisons like the Romans, either. Bottom line: they didn't have that big of an empire.... It did not ever extend up into the dry deserts up north. It took the Spanish crown to provide any political linkage. It took the missionaries to provide ANY cultural linkage.
Like the Aryan cultural history this one is totally fabricated. It's appeal to blood and land does come from Nazism.
Reconquista needs to be slapped down all the way.

The problem is that the Reconquista is not an armed movement that we can blow up with some bombs. It's a demographic explosion in slow motion that by the time we realize it's a problem it's too late. I worry that too many will come too fast for them to assimilate to OUR ways-- instead they'll just bring Mexico with them and turn us into a third world country. But I am grateful that Mexicans aren't violent religious fanatics of the variety currently overwhelming Europe from the middle east. That's the one thing we have going for us that the Euros don't. Latin Americans are not violent fanatics. They are good christians inculcated in Western values. They're a fairly passive people too, of good values and good work ethic when given the chance. So it's not all doom and gloom. It's the Leftists who want to use them that I want dead.

Be careful what you ask for. What do they think southern California will turn into if they turn it into Mexico?
Come to think of it, perhaps the easiest way to deport most of the illegals is to just build a new fence with them on the other side of it. In that case, everyone wins. They get 'their' land back, and we reassert our authority over our borders.
Maybe not. One the US left that land, everyone would be very eager to get the hell out of there just like they are from the rest of Mexico.

Hey guys, i found this site via google news! I actually think its great that everyone is discussing this... because the truth only comes out when enough people question what has been stated as fact right?
As far as "Mexicans taking over the land" i think its a joke, it'll most likely never happen. (You can never say never and never say always). But, what has been outlined in that aztlan (where did that come from anyways?) more or less actually depicts what used to be considered "mexican territory."
Someone also stated that the capital is in Mexico City, far from "the border" (with the US). That is correct, but it is a little known fact that the "Aztecs" which were the predominent society, did rule that far. It is also sad to say that they didn't treat "native americans" (those we call indians in the US) very well either. But, because of their "advanced civilization" they did pick on them.
For those of you who question what an advnaced society is, compare the aztecs to the romans in that they were HUGE because of their civil engineering and agriculture areas as well as in other areas.
Now, to clarify, many look at mexico like its a country on the same level as one in africa. Mexico is really a different world that is most definitly not comparable to a "real 3rd world country." If you want to play the angle of "technically, yes it is" then i can say, The united states is not one of the largest economies in the world (as a whole), that is soley the west coast of the US, and more exclusively, California (which at least a few years back it was the 3rd largest individual economy in the world). And that is fact. Treat "those people like crap" and you can only imagine what'll happen to the rest of the US.
Anyhow, Everything would be so much better if people kept asking questions and actually knew their history... "history is written by those who win." Many don't know what really happened when mexico "sold their territory to the US." I don't think it matters now. But what does is this, someone said "Do they even speak aztec?" Well, maybe not the actual aztec language, but there are still MANY 'native languages' spoken in mexico. As there were many different types of peoples living in its land.
So if these people causing an uproar to "take the power back" are 2nd-3rd......10th generation "mexicans" i don't think they have any basis to claim anything. I myself am 1st generation "mexican american." Once your family has been in the country more than 1 gen you intigrate much better. Almost ALL 2nd gen and down that i've come across don't even speak spanish anymore! My father was a chemicle engineer sent to new york, and then relocated to Los Angeles. We 'migrated' legally. And to be honest, i've had racist teachers who left me with physical life long disabilities. I'm not crying about it, but i do know for a FACT that this 'stuff' still exists. So i say, "don't try to take back what is lost" but do say, "we have to learn to live with eachother or else everyone loses."
Its that simple! And for those who claim "what racisim? i'm white, i get discriminated more than whoever else..." All i have to say is, when did the signs come down from public businesses that said "No dogs or niggers allowed"... and these are facts backed up by PICTURES.

Just so you know, Aztlan was the land the Mexica people had before they were called Aztecs and before they founded Tenochtitlan on what it is now Mexico City.
Aztec means "People from Aztlan" in Nahuatl, their native language.
Aztlan was located, according to their legends, somewhere at the north of what later on would be Mexico, where now is California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico.
They left Aztlan searching for the "promised land", which would be revealed to them by an omen from their gods. That omen turned out to be an eagle eating up a serpent standing over a nopal tree. The legend was recovered during the independence and is still on the mexican flag.
So Aztlan was really on the north, just before Tenochtitlan was even there.
That being said, let me say I was born in the US from mexican parents and I think this whole "chicano" thing is just bad. If "chicanos" want to have their mexican ways they can very well return to Mexico. If they want to be in the US they better start working and adapting themselves to the society they want to belong.
I am no chicano, I don't undestand that word and I don't share their views. I am a Mexican-American. And I will work and obey the law wherever I am and feeling proud of what I am. I am not a land-less person, I am a child of both worlds and I feel comfortable calling both home. I've been called "gringo" by my mexican relatives and "beaner" by my american friends and it doesn't bother me. I am both.
So please stop the nonsense and let's get to work together. Taking sides it's just stupid and divides us.
