So Peaceful And Tolerant

[note to Islamotards, this was originally posted at Vince Aut Morire, if you want to issue a fatwa, it goes to ME, not Rusty. Well, okay, you can fatwa Rusty too, but I call shotgun.]

All it takes are rumors of Koran flushing and silly little cartoons to send the muslim "street" into a frothing rage.

"You can't do that, you'll make a billion people mad!" the useful idiots throw at us.

How about making 2 billion people mad? (story link)

Five coordinated car bombings targeted the Vatican mission and at least two churches in Baghdad and two churches in the northern city of Kirkuk within about 20 minutes.

In response to this latest atrocity commited by the cowards of Islam upon my faith, I am going to post the entire string of Mohammed cartoons that were published in Denmark underneath the fold. more...

Obama and Biden See Alito Filibuster As Lost Cause

From the Associated Press:

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., predicted on Sunday that an effort to try to block a final vote on Alito would fail on Monday. That would clear the way for Senate approval Tuesday of the federal appeals court judge picked to succeed the retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

"We need to recognize, because Judge Alito will be confirmed, that, if we're going to oppose a nominee that we've got to persuade the American people that, in fact, their values are at stake," Obama said.

"There is an over-reliance on the part of Democrats for procedural maneuvers," he told ABC's "This Week."

"I think a filibuster makes sense when you have a prospect of actually succeeding," Biden said on CNN's "Late Edition." "I will vote one time to say to continue the debate. but the truth of the matter" is that Alito will be confirmed, he said.

These remarks beg the question: if you know you can't filibuster before you vote, why not just go to a straight up and down vote, and quit jerking everyone around?

Answer: the Democrats have veered so far to the Left that they have to pander to the tantrums of these nutcases.

HowieÂ’s Roundup: Lobby Blender Edition

All this talk of Lobby reform is OK. But we do have a check that is supposed to balance corporate and special interest money against the interest of the people. That check is the representative or Senator that the people elect, pay, provide the greatest heath care plan on the planet, pay their staff and give them a very, very cool place to work. I think Tom Coburn (R rep. OK) said it best on NPR last week.

Until we change the motivation that the next election is more important than the next generation we wonÂ’t solve problems, the problem is us.
Anxious to distance themselves, the Democrats are. More than one reason, they have.
The Filthy Report : Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV): "Law-Enforcement Authorities And Others Said The [Abramoff] Investigation's Opening Phase Is Scrutinizing ... Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat ..."
Oh and when Fox gets the transcript up check out Dean attemting to defend this against Wallace.
FOXNEWS : WALLACE: So if we find — and I just want to — we have to wrap this up. But if we find that there were some Democrats who wrote letters on behalf of some of the Indian tribes that Abramoff represented, then what do you say, sir?
DEAN: That's a big problem, and those Democrats are in trouble, and they should be in trouble. And our party, if the American people will put us back in power in '06, we will have on the president's desk things that outlaw all those kinds of behaviors. Right now it's a Republican scandal. Maybe they'll find that some Democrats did something wrong, too. That hasn't been the case yet.
IÂ’ll add Mr. Wallace's links when I get in Monday(done). Nope Mr. Dean YÂ’all suck, both sides. To the blender with them!

Hmm I wonder which group of scoundrels I would vote for or if there was no one else and he had at least some brains and some talent maybe. But not the nutty bunch. Or even the new nutty bunch over the old nutty bunch.

Hat Tip: Instapundit.

More Blender on "high" links for your reading pleasure.

Good news From Iraq Roundup From Vonski.

I missed posting on this topic last week, so I apologize if you came by last Friday hoping to find the article up. CNN didn't report on my failure to produce, so I must be somewhat safe.
No the map thing was cool really.

Michael Yon at USA today. Don't miss Michael's new site here!

Captain Ed single-handedly saves Canada from certain ruin! But we knew he could.

RockyMountainNews : Morrissey then published reports on his Captain's Quarters Web site. Canadian media continued to obey the publication ban, but Canada's CTV reported on the existence of Morrissey's site, which soon was attracting hundreds of thousands of readers daily.

ABCÂ’s Bob Woddruff injured in roadside bomb attack.

ABCNEWS : Woodruff, Vogt and their four-man team were traveling in a convoy with Iraqi security forces in Taji, Iraq. They had been embedded with the 4th Infantry Division and were in a mechanized vehicle when the explosive went off. The explosion was followed by small arms fire.
Prayers and good wishes for a speedy recovery to all involved, less the enemy, including the Iraqi Army unit they were traveling with.

Powerful clicking action from Powerline.

So there we have it: just another routine morning of Bush-bashing in the liberal press. There are too many Ahabs to count, all single-mindedly hunting the same whale.

I did my taxes yesterday.

Democratic Tax Cut : They tell you it is a tax cut. You have two lawyers, a tax accountant and spend another 78 hours and 500 dollars documenting your right to said tax cut. Then attach schedule A to for B with notarized copies of all supporting documents. Retain copies in triplicate and lawyer for 27 years, put aside bail money.

(Political) Circus Coming To Town

Radical eLeft Pushing For Filibuster

The mainstream media are missing, or ignoring, the pressure on Senate Democrats organized by lunatic fringe, diehard Leftists ("netroots") in the blogosphere. These are folks who despise the idea of Constructionist judges who (horrors!) actually use the Constitution as the basis of their rulings. This is not just blog rhetoric, but an organized campaign of pressure on Democratic Senators.

After Plowing

I've been shirking a bit in the culture wars, mostly because I'm in the midst of a career shift and engaged in an almost constant round of job interviews. Ugh! It's tough, but as James Buchanan used to say, just about anything is "better than plowing," albeit not necessarily by much. Traipsing in from the field with my wheat-farmer Dad after a day of weeding, seeding or plowing--so caked in dust and fine dirt that it would have been a horrifying hallowe'en disguise--made the feeling of showering and heading to dinner clean as a newborn all the more glorious. So, the main thing I appreciated about plowing was the transition to afterplowing. And that's sort of the way I feel about looking for a new job. It's the aftershower that I look forward to, and that lets me appreciate the value of the toil.

I'll be back as soon as I get cleaned up...

Since Vinnie appears to be asleep at the wheel on that whole Blog Sabbath thing, enjoy this music video. It's even got words so you can sing along!

Islamic Media Center Tied to Danish Terror Threat?

Aaron at Internet Haganah has this fascinating expose of the potential ties between the Islamic Media Center and the recent terror threats against Denmark:

Shortly after the appearance of the threat to attack Denmark, in October 2005, a series of arrests occured throughout Europe. We suspect that there may be a link of some sort between the individuals rounded up in Bosnia, the UK and Denmark in late October, and the person or persons currently issuing threats as "The Glory Brigades of Northern Europe".
Among the global jihadi community, there are few names more recognizable than Zubbeiddah1417, the person behind the artfully made IMC videos. more...

An Open Letter to Iben Khattab (fatwa issued)

dale_gribble_rusty_shackleford_anonymous2.jpgTo 'Iben Khattab', the assmuncher who is using my avatar on Islamic bulletin boards,

Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have thought some one would ever use the avatar I created on Islamic bulletin boards. Big foot sightings boards? Yes. Alien abduction support communities? Yes. Angelina Jolie lesbian fan clubs? Certainly. But not bulletin boards set up for pro-jihadi propaganda!

Now, I know many Muslims don't believe in 'copyright laws', but don't worry, I'm not threatening to sue you. I just want you to know that I think that you're an asshole and a thief. Stealing my avatar, that I created, makes you a thief. Using that avatar to spread pro-jihad propaganda makes you an asshole.

In the name of Allah, the unmerciful, the uncompassionite, the Lord of Moons, the enabler of pedophiles, I issue a fatwa against you. All who meet Iben Khattab are hereby ordered to flip him the bird and fart in his general direction.

Love,

Rusty Shackleford

PS-Thanks to Tribeca for noticing the avatar and to Richard from Hyscience for helping me translate the threads in question.

Maybe Google Isn't That Evil

Google is being bashed for cooperating with Chinese communist authorities to restrict what Chinese citizens are allowed to search for on the web. I'm certainly no fan of the liberal establishment that runs Google, (and awards "newsite" status to obvious Islamist propaganda sites) but, fair is fair.

Junkyard Blog correctly points out the surreal tranquility of the images obtained by a Chicom Google search for "tiananmen"

However, if you click on the Chinese character at the left above the search window (which probably corresponds to "Web"), you find this link, which contains a number of violent images of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, including this one: more...

Arrests in Jill Carroll Kidnapping

The story of three arrests in the Jill Carroll hostage crisis came out last week when I was sick and I somehow overlooked posting on it. The story is now four days old, and, despite the arrests, Carroll's fate remains unknown. We pray she is safe from the hands of the bastards holding her.

Macsmind has the details.

New Hostage Video of Four Western Peace Activists

four_peace_activists_hostage_new_video.jpgA new video has emerged of four Western peace activists being held hostage in Iraq. The hostages are: Norman Kember, 74, of England; Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32; and American Tom Fox, 54. Background information on the four peace activists held hostage in Iraq can be found here.

The video is a very bad sign. While al Jazeera chose not to air the audio from it, the video is said to demand the release of all Iraqi prisoners or the four Western hostages will be murdered. Up to this point, speculation has abounded that the 'Swords of Righteousness Brigade', the organization behind the hostage crisis, was a criminal organization interested in ransoming the hostages for money.

However, The Jawa Report was the first media outlet to reveal the 'The Swords of Righteousness Brigade' may be a front for the radical Islamist terror organization, The Islamic Army in Iraq. Analysts working for major MSM outlets later confirmed our initial reports.

The Islamic Army in Iraq has murdered foreign hostages in the past, including Italian Red Cross worker Enzo Baldoni, and has worked with Abu Musab al Zarqawi's al Qaeda in Iraq in the past.

More recent reports indicate that The Islamic Army in Iraq (IAI) has broken any ties it had with al Qaeda. There is even some indication that IAI and al Qaeda are openly fighting in some areas.

Thanks to George for sending this link LTV:

Al-Jazeera television broadcast the video Saturday showing the four hostages standing against a wall. The four have been held hostage since November 26, 2005 and is the only evidence of the four peace workers still being alive after the first deadline passed in early December.

The kidnappers, a group calling themselves the Swords of Righteousness, believe the men were spying for U.S.-led forces and threatened to kill them if Iraqis were not released from U.S. and Iraqi prisons.

The group issued a statement saying this was the "last chance" for authorities to release all Iraqi prisoners or "the hostages will be killed."

Suicide is Painless...

In a particularly lugubrious piece for the LA Times, breathlessly entitled, "Witch Hunt at UCLA", English professor Saree Makdisi whines:

My colleagues and I are being targeted for speaking out on the kinds of urgent social matters and universal principles that it has always — in every society and every age — been the task of intellectuals to address.
This sounds admirable and important.

What kind of "urgent social matters" and "universal principles" does Dr. Makdisi address? Many of them seem to be similar to this: more...

Non-Scandal Scandal #3450834

Duh.

Look, maybe it's the 14,084 Ann Rule type crime books I've read, or the 105,799,409,849 newspaper recorded accounts of criminal investigations I've seen, but detaining family members of suspects is unremarkably routine in our own country.

So the wives of terrorists are being taken in and held for questioning.

This is remarkable? This is a story? This is somehow different from Ted Bundy's girlfriend being subjected to hours upon hours of interrogation? No, a wife cannot be compelled to testify in court against her husband, but that doesn't mean they aren't held for questioning in the course of an investigation.

Yet, suddenly, in the middle of a war, the bar gets raised, when it should be lowered. These women talked about in the article hitched their wagons to terrorists. They aid, abet, and support the slaughter of innocent people.

The media expects us to weep for them?

But this is the money line. The part of the story that lit the match under my scrotum:

The documents are among hundreds the Pentagon has released periodically under U.S. court order to meet an American Civil Liberties Union request for information on detention practices.

What the f*** is a U.S. court doing ordering the f***ing Pentagon to release documents related to anything anywhere when we are in the middle of a war?

Since when is the AMERICAN Civil Liberties Union privy to what our military is doing with prisoners who are not American citizens and not residing in this country and who are our enemies doing everything they can to kill as many Americans as possible?

When one of our military members, or civilian hostages, or workers over there dies in an IED explosion, isn't that the ultimate violation of their American civil liberties?

I was born in 1967. Stories like this make me wish I had been born in 1907. If this were 1946, and I were the age I am now, I wouldn't have 30 yards of duct tape wrapped around my head to keep it from exploding when I read news of the war.

Warnings of Impending Suicide Attack in Denmark

The Glory Brigades in Northern Europe are now threatening suicide attacks in Denmark. The originals can be seen and downloaded at Infovlad who has them archived. A rough translation of the warning from an Islamic forum can be seen at Tracking al Qaeda.

The Glory Brigades of Northern Europe have threatened terrorist actions in both Sweden and Denmark in the past. The current threats are being made in retalliation for cartoons appearing in Danish papers which are said to be offensive to Muslims.

I wonder how many Christian fundamentalists have threatened to blow themselves up in New York over Kanye West's portrayal of Christ in Rolling Stone?

I was born a poor black child: The Rusty Shackleford Autobiography

An excerpt from my soon te be released autobiography:

My life as the son of a sharecropper was no picnic. In town there was always the worry that Boss Hogg and the powers that be would take some offense and confiscate what little we had to themselves under the perversity that was Jim Crow.

And home was no better. Emasculated by a system that drained by father of all that was manly dignity, he found his only solace was the bottle. And when my father drank, he was mean. Real mean.

Is it true? Does it really matter? It sounds true.

And if Timothy P. Barrus, a white guy from Lansing, Michigan, can win awards for writing about growing up on the Navajo Reservation, why can't I shoot for the same? He's pretty much my new hero, anyhow. Except for the gay porn thing. Can't say that I know enough about that to make up a true sounding story.

Crack Dealer Hands Out Business Cards

Life imitating Chappelle.

Belch has the details:

He said police had heard for some time that Williams had been selling drugs in the area. “Then we heard that he was handing out business cards,” the officer said. “In the course of our investigation we were fortunate to come up with one, and we gave him a call.”

Kitchens said the business card had an image of what appeared to be an alarm clock being hit by a boxing glove and said: “For a quick hit on time call the boss.”

“When he answered, we agreed to buy some crack from him, we went up there, and we arrested him,” Kitchens said.

This Is Just Wrong On So Many Levels

From the Associated Press:

An Italian judge heard arguments Friday on whether a small-town parish priest should stand trial for asserting that Jesus Christ existed.

The priest's atheist accuser, Luigi Cascioli, says the Roman Catholic Church has been deceiving people for 2,000 years with a fable that Christ existed, and that the Rev. Enrico Righi violated two Italian laws by reasserting the claim.

Okay, I know that Italy has become a cesspool of neo-communists, terrorist sympathizers and other assorted pinheads and kooks, but come on.

Australia Cracks Down on Rioters, Unless They're Muslim

Remember those Australian race riots last month? Well it seems that it was the official policy of certain provincial governments to crack down on all of the white kids, but to let Muslim youths engaged in the same activities go free.

Ghost of a Flea sends me this story from The Australian:

UNTIL just over a week ago, not one alleged revenge attacker [Muslims] in the wake of last month's race riot in southern Sydney had been charged, despite the charging of up to 30 white men over the initial affray.

He claimed the state Labor Government of Premier Morris Iemma had encouraged police to go soft on revenge attackers, most thought to be Middle Eastern, because of what he called Labor's political correctness....

Iemma and Moroney still say the police have not been soft on Middle Eastern crime. But the evidence suggests otherwise. A notorious police document outlines how, the night after the Sunday riots, "numerous vehicles were sighted congregated in the vicinity of Punchbowl Park [in Sydney's inner southwest]".

"These vehicles and the crowd that had been gathered were suspected to be Middle Eastern criminals who have been involved in malicious damage and civil disobedience offences throughout the Sutherland Shire and St George areas," the document says. "A direction was given to police around midnight not to enter the area and antagonise these persons."

The last thing we need is for all those hot Australian sheilas to start wearing burkas!

Video Emerges of Two German Hostages in Iraq

Al Jazeera has broadcast a video of two German engineers taken hostage in Iraq. As reported earlier on The Jawa Report, the names of the two German hostages are Thomas Wischke and Rebiti Drata (transliterated from Arab reports). Their correct names are Thomas Nitzschke and Rene Braeunlich. We will link to the video as soon as we find it. Please e-mail us via the Contact link above if you have any information on the video.

Al Jazeera:

Two German hostages held in Iraq have appealed to their government to help secure their release, in a video aired by Aljazeera.

The two German engineers, who disappeared in northern Iraq on Tuesday, were shown on their knees in front of four kidnappers on the video shown by the television station on Friday.

The tape was dated 24 January, the day they were abducted in the northern industrial city of Beiji, about 240km north of Baghdad.

The hostages, identified by relatives as Thomas Nitzschke and Rene Braeunlich, arrived in Iraq on 22 January.

The German Foreign Ministry said the two only planned to remain in Iraq "for a short time".

They were working for a German company which has a commercial relationship with an Iraqi government-owned detergent company.

In Berlin, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the German Foreign Minister, said on Friday that contact had been established with the kidnappers.

"The first contact was made by the kidnappers," Steinmeier told RTL television.

He described the pictures as "shocking".

Earlier, Gernot Erler, the Deputy Foreign Minister, told ARD television that a ministry crisis unit "is working constantly to save the two engineers."

We pray for their speedy release.
