Iraqi Interior Minister Falah al-Nakib announced today that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al Qaeda in Mesopotamia (Iraq), has been surrounded.
The Sofia News Agency reports the Interior Minister as saying, "He is surrounded in a certain area, and we hope for the best. This operation is ongoing. We hope that the situation will be completely different in Iraq at the end of this year."
Al-Nakib said al-Zarqawi was moving in "more than one area," but declined to provide more details, reports BNN.

Nothing would be too much for this Z chump, but I do have a problem with torturing inocent people (as I am one), as are many in Gitmo, etc. I dont think that anyone in or out of the military really disputes that, so yes there is a problem. And we should try and solve it. Thus classifying everyone in the miltary justice system as filth is not a good start- which is what some seemed to be saying.

If the U.S. actually "took" Baghdad, then all the duties required of any occupying power would have been carried out per the Geneva Convention, including full control and administration. As the U.S. has not been able to achieve monopoly-of-force in Baghdad, it miserably fails the litmus test for having either taken it or having had controlled it. So far, Ritter's 2003 prediction has not entered the endgame phase - the phase when American troops depart Iraq.
