1 What a baseless creep. Such hubris, he includes his receiving a speeding ticket as "repression." Pfft.

4 Not being able to ask critical questions is not the sign of a free republic. Believing your TV does not make you virtuous. America is beginning its fascist crackdown with the dittoheads bleating in unison over the necessity to fire tenured professors because they say unpopular things. Well folks, sorry to back this up, but if you really think that the US can keep the world at gunpoint and nobody is going to fire back at you then you are truly totalitarian wonders. Your flag is not GOD. The state is not GOD. Bush does not talk to JEsus...satan...maybe? The Roosters do come home. I know many of you cannot concieve that the military is is essentially an imperial policy. I know you arent supposed to "get it", because if you did, you wouldnt send yourself and your kids to die for resources and the imperatives of internaional capitialists. We are taught to worship our militarists, and hate everyone with blind sheeplike suspicion. This isnt bravery and freedom, but moral cowardice. ernie

6 Ernie: You are wrong. Our flag is God. One of the few in the world worth a shit. I'm supposed to pay for some asshole to teach my children the slaughter of 3000 people is just? I pay the bill but have no control? Tenured or not, teachers should be held responsible for their actions same as every one else. It's not so much what they say, as much as we are tired of subjecting our youth to the rantings of weirdos. As in every industry, academia makes mistakes. Academia deserves to be able to correct their mistakes, same as any other industry. When they no longer offer anything constructive they need to be removed. Tenured or not. Our universities should not be safe havens for incompedent freaks who babble their individual sick political beliefs.Teachers lose their minds, turn stupid and do traitorous things. JUST LIKE YOU. When this happens they should be removed. JUST LIKE YOU.
