3 Actually, the young man with Down syndrome was a Shiite who the family believes was taken by the bombers while they were voting. He was 19 years old and routinely wandered the neighborhood by himself safely, although he had the cognitive level of a 4-year-old. On election day, he apparently ran into the wrong people who used him. The bomb blew up when he was in the clear, and nobody died but him. The family heard the blast shortly after voting, and when they heard a "mongoli" was the bomber, they ran to the scene and found their son's head. According to stories I read, the family is broken up over the death of their son. No relative was involved in his death.
