Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho Plea for Hostages

BBC:

Brazilian football star Ronaldo has made a televised plea for the release of a countryman kidnapped in Iraq [ Joao Jose Vasconcelos ]...

"I hope they will show pity and let him return home to his family and friends."...

Ronaldo's fiancee and the hostage are from the same Brazilian state...

Barcelona midfielder Ronaldinho and Brazilian legend Pele are also preparing to record messages, reports say....

Maybe we should get Brett Favre to do the same?

3 Why do we need sports figures to plead for our hostages? The American Muslem community has taken such a large role in the condemnatin of beheading that it is not necessary.I work about a mile from a Mosque in Seattle. The daily protests by the followers of Islam against beheading hostages are just about shutting down the city. It sure feels good that these guys have our back.

5 Brett Favre was raised a few miles from where I am sitting. Down in the Kiln, on monkey bayou. Sure is boring around he without him in the Super Bowl. We still have Payton Manning, but he didn't get there either. Maybe Eli soon. On the good side, look at all the crawfish whose lives were saved. Not many boils this super bowl Sunday.
