Authorities have arrested a Palestinian man who allegedly trained al-Qaida-linked Abu Sayyaf guerrillas in the past and returned to the Philippines for a possible terror mission, government officials said Thursday.
Fawas Ajjur, whom security officials suspect may be an al-Qaida operative, was arrested Saturday in Zamboanga City as he arrived after a baffling, circuitous journey that took him to Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, the officials said.
Ajjur did not have a visa and was taken into custody by immigration agents at the Zamboanga airport, Immigration Commissioner Alipio Fernandez Jr. said.
He was later allegedly identified by captured Abu Sayyaf guerrillas as one of the foreign militants who trained them in bomb-making near Patikul town of Jolo island a few years ago, a security official said on condition of anonymity.

Why doesn't it surprise you? Take a map of the Philipines and draw a line 1/4th through it. The rest are terrorists and terrorists property. They were showing it after the Filipino was killed, no more work permits were going out to Iraq and they pulled their troops home. all of you are wrong. philippines is trying to help us in the middle of the war in eraq. but philippine goverment have no option when the eraq terorist hostage one of the pilipino civilian and the ronsome is to retreat all the pilipino troops from eraq. pilipino goverment have no choice. but the time when pilipnino goverment send troops to eraq they already mean that they help for the fredom. at the time when australian civilian got kidnap here in philippines the philippine goverment did all theire best just to rescue the hostage. that means that philippine govermen is wheling to help with theire own frewell. how much more to us.
