Gone Fishing

Damn the sitemeter, full speed ahead! No more posting today or tomorrow. I'm going camping. I hate camping. Don't get me wrong, I love nature. I love to fish, SCUBA dive, sail, etc. I just hate sleeping in a freaking tent. My philosophy about nature? It should be loved, cherished, respected---and then dominated! Ciao, peeps.

PS-Sorry about the lack of content and general silliness today, but all work and no play make Rusty a something something....

Double PS- Mucho linkage opportunity for any blogger who get's some of the big-whigs to join the Alliance of Blog Pimps.

1 Wimp. If you don't like to sleep in a tent and eat food with dirt and ash in it, you're not a man.

2 I notice you made a contribution to this discussion http://armiesofliberation.com/archives/2004/09/16/an-october-surprise/#comments I have been trying to exercise my democratic right of free speech but the blogette, Jane, seems not to accept my views (she has blocked messges from my computer's address). This is redolent of Soviet Russia and Pravda. Please would you post my views, as you won't be censored out by the Republican Guard. There is nothing offensive or barbaric in what I have to say, so please post this following messege - Look at Weimar Germany. The Reichstag Fire was used as an excuse to demolish the constitution and democracy, thus leaving the field clear for the National-Socialist Party. Germans were saddled with a government they didn't vote for, neither could they get rid of it. In fact, anyone who objected was quickly dealt with. You either followed your orders or else. I mean, no one could ever envisage the pinnacle of humanity, the USA, being subjected to such abuse by the executive. The President could be impeached for attacking the constitution, which on oath, in public, before the People, he swore to protect. Regardless of an act of terrorism, such as the Reichstag suffered, or say, the Twin Towers, I can't imagine the US executive being able to pass something as democratically backward as the senile- Hindenburg - git-Hitler Enabling Law. I have my doubts though about these Fatherland Security and Patriot Acts (very redolent of Orwellian langauage). There were balloons going up over Washington DC, a wee while back, regarding a possible terrorist atrocity in the US itself (God forbid ! my tongue is out of my cheek here my friends) round about the time just before voting time. I don't think this went down well. People were voicing their concerns in public, about a possible military coup d'etat, and the scheme was quickly shelved. Sorry, did I just say that, I meant, these fears were quickly shelved, thus remaining in limbo. Yours Joe 90 PS is the Demosophist a psychiatrist, ethnologist or just a stupid boring racist ?

3 I have been trying to exercise my democratic right of free speech A blog is someone else's property. Your rights of free speech don't give you the right to break into my house and preach in my living room: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. How the hell is someone else's Blog's rules a violation of that? (she has blocked messges from my computer's address). You think that might have something to do with your tendency to completely ignore any modicum of social propriety and pollute comment sections with completely off topic screeds? By the way, Rusty, how was the fishing?

4 Good job, Brian. That post by Joe was completely out of line and did not belong under this title "Gone Fishing." Anyway, I'm a girl and I must be a wimp, too, because I absolutely hate the idea of camping. I want a real bed, a real shower, a real bathroom and if anyone wants to take me away, there better be a motel around - he can sleep outside in a tent. ICK. Not me, tho. And out of subject, I need to find a new place to live and a new roommate. Maybe even a new state. ~~~wimpy Cindy :-) PS Rusty, you picked one hell of a weekend to go away; lots going on; more kidnappings, more killings. The 4 female hostages have been sold (sold??) and taken to Falluja - and of course, we're bombing the living daylights out of Falluja, so if any of the hostages get killed, it's going to be OUR fault. French journalists?? So much death and destruction this weekend. They're trying to assassinate just about everybody in Iraq and tried again in Aghanistan. Let's put it this way, the terrorists are trying to break any and all infrastructure being built in that country. I'm still waiting for the IRAQI's to STEP UP TO THE PLATE and start doing something about these terrorists and get them out of their country; turn them in - ANYTHING - to stop this from happening. How can they move around so freely and NOT be known by somebody where they are??? Assassinate Al Sadr who's only making their lives worse. When will they smarten up?? ARGH

5 Brian, Fishing was so-so but we found a nice sandbar to lounge on for the afternoon and the water was great.

7 Anyone can become angry. That is easy. But to be angry with the right person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose and in the right way - that is not easy. -------------------------------------------------------------
