Bruce Willis Supports the Troops

According to Ace of Spades and RightFaith, the pro-military actor, Bruce Willis, will be making a movie righting the wrongs of MSM bias regarding the war in Iraq.

Bruce Willis comes out fighting for IraqÂ’s forgotten GI heroes (Times Online):

ANGERED by negative portrayals of the conflict in Iraq, Bruce Willis, the Hollywood star, is to make a pro-war film in which American soldiers will be depicted as brave fighters for freedom and democracy.

It will be based on the exploits of the heavily decorated members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, which has spent the past year battling insurgents in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul.

That's the Deuce Four of Michael Yon fame.

Willis attended Deuce FourÂ’s homecoming ball this month in Seattle, Washington, where the soldiers are on leave, along with Stephen Eads, the producer of Armageddon and The Sixth Sense.

[...]

“I am baffled to understand why the things I saw happening in Iraq are not being reported,” he told MSNBC, the American news channel.

He is expected to base the film on the writings of the independent blogger Michael Yon, a former special forces green beret who was embedded with Deuce Four and sent regular dispatches about their heroics.

There is a lot of good, solid info in the news article referenced here. However, I like Bruce Willis and I will definitely add this movie to my list of ones I will actually see in the movie theaters.

1 It's about damn time and we all need to make sure we support this movie at the box office so it will make a ton of money for all involved. Thank you, Bruce Willis, and all concerned with this project!

3 It's cool that someone in Hollywood is finally willing to give the soldiers the praise they deserve. Hopefully the movie will do these guys justice and by that I mean put the emphasis on telling their story and not on just big guns and even bigger explosions. The last time Bruce Willis played a soldier (Tears of the Sun) the results weren't all that good.

4 True, Graeme, I hadn't thought about that movie. I always think of the Die Hard series when I think of Bruce Willis. But this one might be different because of the good people like Michael Yon and others who I trust to do an excellent job at portraying our soldiers. As the son of a retired military man, I can tell you they don't get the graditude they deserve. Hope this movie changes that to a certain degree.

5 It's sure to be contraversial. Can't buy that kind of advertising. Bruce rocks!!!!!

6 Wow, I didn't know this about Yon: "Yon, 41, went to Iraq after a friend from high school, Scott Helveston, a former navy Seal, was hanged from a bridge in Falluja in an incident that shocked the world." Don't forget - this was the incident where Markos "P.o.s." Mousy-liteus of DailyPOS said "F them" re: the hanged men. So P.o.s. said "F" a Navy Seal. Meahwhile he enlists, goes into a cushy unit, and gets into P.U. law because of affirmative action. Ain't life grand.

7 Now THAT'S what I call supporting the troops.

8 Ron Silver also supports the war and the troops. He was a Dem and became a Republican after 9/11. The Political Teen Bruce rocks. I hope the movie is NOT like Tears of the Sun but the truth as Michael Yon saw it, photographed it, and wrote it.

9 Agent Brown ran a search on Bruce Willis. He found Demi instead.

10 As an Aussie, I'm pretty proud of our own servicemen, but I'm lost in admiration of the job the Yanks are doing in Iraq -- they truly are the Freedom Fighters over there. It's good to see that someone is at last getting the story straight. Good on ya mate!
