The Muslim moonbat was one of several imams recommended for the chaplain's job by the Islamic Society for the Fire Department.
Michelle Malkin writes that just when we think things are getting better in New York City, "politically correct insanity rears its monstrous head again." In pointing to Tom Bevan at Real Clear Politics, she notes Tom's flaging of today's Newsday story about the new Islamist-sympathizing, nutball Muslim chaplain hired by none other than the New York Fire Department. We need to stand-up in solidarity with Michelle's suggestion: "Don't let up on the FDNY commissioner, though. Someone made a boneheaded decision to hire a tinfoil Islamist like Habib in the first place. Make sure it doesn't happen again!"
An imam slated to be sworn in Friday as the second Muslim chaplain in Fire Department history said he questioned whether 19 hijackers were responsible for the Sept. 11 terror attacks, and suggested a broader conspiracy may have brought down the Twin Towers and killed more than 2,700 people.
In a telephone interview Thursday, Imam Intikab Habib, 30, a native of Guyana who studied Islam in Saudi Arabia, said he doubted the United States government's official story blaming 19 hijackers associated with al-Quaida and Osama bin Laden."I as an individual don't know who did the attacks," said Habib, 30, a soft-spoken man who immigrated to New York in July 2000 after spending six years in Saudi Arabia getting a degree in Islamic theology and law. "There are so many conflicting reports about it. I don't believe it was 19 ... hijackers who did those attacks."
Asked to elaborate on his reasons for doubting that story, he talked about video and news reports widely disseminated in the Muslim community.
"I've heard professionals say that nowhere ever in history did a steel building come down with fire alone," he said. "It takes two or three weeks to demolish a building like that. But it was pulled down in a couple of hours. Was it 19 hijackers who brought it down, or was it a conspiracy?
When pressed further about whether the hijackers' backgrounds -- 15 of whom were Saudi -- might make his training an issue for still-grieving firefighters, he went on to express his own doubts about the hijacker story. And just what do we know about the Al-Ihsan Academy in Ozone Park? Not much, but do you think it would be too much of a strectch to connect Al-Ihsan "Academy" with the Al-Ihsan Society? I think not, so let's take a look at the Al-Ihsan Society, also known as The Elehssan Society, which the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated in May of this year as a "charitable front" for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a terrorist organization based in Damascus, Syria. And the "Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center at the Center for Special Studies in Israel (C.S.S.) has a lot more to say about "The Elehssan Society."Habib was one of several imams recommended for the chaplain's job by the Islamic Society for the Fire Department, as a result of his work teaching junior high students at Al-Ihsan Academy in Ozone Park, a private Islamic school, where he worked for about five years.
The Elehssan Society is a network of Islamic “charitable societies” identified with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. It claims to engage in social, cultural and health issues. At the same time, however, it is also part of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's civilian infrastructure and provides support for the organization's terrorist activities, which includes financial assistance provided to the families of shaheeds and prisoners. It should be noted that another Islamic terrorist organization, Hamas, has similar but larger terrorist-supporting civilian infrastructures both on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip. So we don't have to have much of an imagination to figure out what's taught at the Muslim school that this moonbat, now INSIDE the FDNY, taught at for five years. And we already know what he's going to be saying to any Muslims in the FDNY, so what in the hell is the FDNY thinking about? The Elehssan Society has several branches in the Gaza Strip and a few on the West Bank (Bethlehem, Jenin, Tulkarm). It receives most of its funding from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad leadership located in Damascus, which itself receives generous financial aid from Iran. Such aid is intended to foster the deadly terrorist activities perpetrated by the organization in the PA-administered territories, particularly in Israel itself.
In addition to welfare activities, Elehssan branches deal with instigation to terrorist acts against Israel by glorifying the image of the terrorists who have perpetrated such attacks and by turning them into role models.
From Michelle's post:
Government at all levels still refuses to screen out Wahhabist and terror-apologizing influences in our prisons, in the military, at the FBI, and in other prominent positions. (More background here and here and here and here and here.)It's time for the blogosphere to thoroughly check out and expose decisions like these that further entrench Islam into our American society, facilitating the Islamization of America.Tom Bevan writes: "The craziness never seems to end." Neither do our suicidal tendencies and limitless tolerance for the enemy within. Homeland security? What homeland security?
And by the way, it will be interesting to find out just how "connected" our Muslim chaplain friend's school is to to it's namesake, and exactly what they are teaching at that school!!!
UPDATE - Newsday:
An imam slated to be sworn in today as the second Muslim chaplain in Fire Department history, instead resigned after making controversial remarks on the Sept. 11 attacks in an interview with Newsday."The Fire Department this morning received the resignation of Imam Intikab Habib from his position of FDNY Chaplain," said FDNY Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta. "Based on comments he made to Newsday, Imam Intikab Habib would have been unable to effectively serve in the role he was appointed to."
