Jawa Taking it to the Terrorists
It has just been brought to my attention that,
er, certain things are being done by,
er, certain "authorities", about,
er, certain things said in the previous post, and that certain,
er, companies are fully cooperating with said authorites. As you can see, I have taken down that post. If you read that post then you are probably as shocked as I am that we, er, were able to get, er, well, you know what I'm talking about.
If you didn't read the post than that will teach you for not checking the Jawa Report every two minutes! And you call yourself a loyal fan?
What was this mysterious post about? I know nothing. Besides, doesn't all the mystery kind of add to the ambience around here?
But, seriously, I'm pretty freaking flabbergasted that my little investigation that I started and e-mailed a few "authorities" about before putting up the post is being taken seriously. Very seriously.
Comment thread on this post will be closed because some of you blabbermouths can't be trusted! More later (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc.)

Terror Suspect Sami Al-Arian Case Drones On
According to Fox News suspected terrorist and former University of South Florida professor,
Sami Al-Arian, has been found innocent of supporting terrorists (more specifically on 8 of the 17 charges against him).
Jury acquits Al-Arian on key charge (Orlando Sentinel):
TAMPA -- A former Florida professor was acquitted on a key charge today that he helped lead a Palestinian terrorist group that has carried out suicide bombings against Israel.
In one of the biggest courtroom tests yet of the Patriot Act's expanded search and surveillance powers, the jury acquitted Sami Al-Arian on eight of the 17 counts against him. The jury deadlocked on the others.
Al-Arian, a former University of South Florida computer engineering professor, wept after the verdicts and his attorney, Linda Moreno hugged him. He will go back to jail until prosecutors decide whether retry him on the deadlocked charges.
There is still a lot more to come in the case of Sami Al-Arian but I wouldn't call this a set back in the war on terror.
Chad Evans, the anti-terror guru, is also covering this story.
Michelle Malkin provides a complete breakdown.
The St. Petersburg Times has a long article which also details the life of Sami Al-Arian.

From reading what the local paper has to say about it, the St PetersburgTimes the government was able to produce only a weak case. When only 2 or 3 jurors are voting guilty on only some of the charges it would seem doubtful of an attempt to retry him on the charges they did deadlock on. http://www.sptimes.com/2005/12/06/Tampabay/Not_guilty__but_not_o.shtml

(UPDATE 3: Images/Video) American Hostage RONALD SCHULZ Threatened on Video by Islamic Army in Iraq

UPDATE: 12/08--The Jawa Report has learned that Ronald Shulz has been murdered.
See this post for update.
The Jawa Report has obtained a copy of the original video. Images from it are posted below and to the right. Unlike other hostage videos, the video edits out the terrorist sitting next to American hostage Ronald Schulz. This is very different than any other IAI produced hostage video I have seen. The image right is of Ronald Schuz's passport as seen in video. Schulz can be seen in the video speaking to one of his captors, but his voice cannot be heard.
Scroll to bottom of post for images. The video is rather large. UPDATE: Long-time Jawa collaborater and terror hunter Infovlad now has the video up here. See Dec. 7th post.
A smaller version of the video can be downloaded from Ogrish. UPDATE: The YNC also has the video here. Another update: Noted terror expert Laura Mansfield also with video--Hyscience also hosting video

In addition to Adopt-a-Soldier, could we put together a program whereby we could donate money for the purchase of ammunition? Each round would have a Terrorist Sand Nigger or Dune Coon name etched on the cartridge, sort of like a personal Adopt-a-Dead-Sand-Nigger for the troops? Further, having a program like that for Liberal Assholes in North America would be a well- received plan. Or, where could we drop a few bucks to "help" loose a few nukes over Iraq and Iran? Fuck these camel fucking shiteaters - it's time to get really NASTY and, once and for all, get even. We could do this all on a Sunday night, when every Liberal Piece of Shit is tucked into its Barka Lounger watching "Desparate Cunts".

Ralph is over the top but think about it. We are over there funding billions of dollars to help those who have lived like animals for the last thirty years as a monument to a dictator who had less compassion for his animals then his people. These people are scarred by the years of war and only understand the rule of law that has been handed to them over the last 1,000 years. Civilation comes in all shapes and sizes and we shouldn't be there then or now. These people have issues that only God can solve. If you want to fund the end to them, stop buying oil and you will send them to hell. The top dogs only exist outside of a tent because they have your oil dollars. I say nuke em but that can't be done as it's not humane. Thus, cut em off at the pockets boys and you will see them starve in the wasteland where they live.

Dean-o Wants the Spotlight Again
Howard Dean seems to have two problems these days. First off, he wants the spotlight. You can tell just by watching him for five minutes that he can't stand it when someone else gets attention. But that only compounds his second problem which is the fact that he doesn't have anything original to say. Because of this, Dean has decided to steal the Murtha-ism that
we can't win in Iraq.
In a most unoriginal speech, he goes on to compare Iraq to Vietnam and insinuate that the Iraqi people are too helpless to take care of themselves. He then concludes with the most original "We cannot have our troops being targets there."
Taken along with his antics during the last Presidential primaries and his shenanigans since, this has made me see Dean in a whole new light...

I found this site surfing, as I've been asked to speak on the radio about Ron Schulz, Terrorism and the war in Iraq. I'm truly sorry for Ron, his family, and to the world for having to deal with this menace, but turning away and losing our resolve is not the answer.
As freedom has expanded through out the world over time, this clash was inevitable. Unfortunately, I think it's going to last much longer than the current administration has planned for. There's an ideological undercurrent to it that will spur many other conflicts.
There are a few things we have to get straight before we can hope to win this fight. First is the open, sound financial management of America, which requires a complete reeorganization of our banking system. Second is a transformation for Christianity into a nature-respecting philosophy.
Aristotlean philosophy has helped me define a completely organic moral code for mankind. My new book on the subject, Moral Armor, can show you how to move through the world with complete moral certainty, and without question, arm you for what is to come.

Howard Dean Traitor and Ally to Zaqueery
Hey, don’t take this Michael’s word for it. How about Michael Reagan son of the late great President Ronald Reagan who seems to know what country he lives in? Seriously Howie Dean, Howie gets all miffed when he googles himself and you are polluting my search. Go away boy you bother me. So while Mr. Dean is just the kind of energy the Democratic party needs to fisk it’s problems, the traitor thing kind of hurts. Don’t you think? If traitor Dean put that energy to exposing the enemy what good he could do! I admit I was kind of entertained by the “OH YEAH” stuff, heck I like good comedy. But I fail to find the humor in Mr. Traitor’s latest comments.
Dean Via WOIA:
What we see today is very much like what was going in Watergate," Dean said. "It turns out there is a lot of good evidence that President Bush did not tell the truth when he was asking Congress for the power to go to war. The President said last week that Congress saw the same intelligence that he did in making the decision to go to war, and that is flat out wrong.
OK Mr. Traitor, Howie says Mr. Bush is not our enemy. Drop me a line when you wake up to who the actual enemy is. Once again the Left attacks America and gives terror a free pass.
The highly respectable Michael Reagan Via Newsmax:
Howard Dean should be arrested and hung for treason or put in a hole until the end of the Iraq war!"
Now thatÂ’s a good idea.
Why is it that Joe Lieberman seems to be the only sane Democrat left in America today.
And why is he under attack for loving his country? The Left has abandoned the platform that kept it relevant and acceptable to Americans in the middle since FDR in favor of attack politics and treason. Right now IÂ’m considering my first strait ticket ballot ever in my life. I really thought Dean would be good and bring energy and core Democratic values to the Democratic Party. It seems now that hating America and loving terror is a core Democratic value.
Others: Captain Ed, Rightwingnews and Dr. Sanity to name just a few.
Oh I forgot Hat tip: Cube neighbor Dave.

Howard Dean and his ilk, Michael Moron, Babs, Ward "Big Chief Two White Parents" Churchill, et al, are the best thing that could happen to America right now, because letting them run loose is like that scared straight program that prisons have, where they send in punk kids to spend time with lifers, to show them their future if they don't straighten up. In reality, the liberal traitorcrats are the "lifers" and We, the People, are the kids who need to be shocked into reality. We need to be made realize that if we don't start taking politics seriously, then our future will be run by those least worthy of such a great trust. Like the saying goes, just because you don't take an interest in politics, doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you. So yeah, Dean's a traitor, along with almost every other dhimmicrat, and they should all suffer the lawful consequences of their treason, but for now, we need them to show us how bad things could get if we don't straighten up.

Let me make one point about "defeating terrorism": You can't, because terrorism isn't a party, nation, or ideology, it's a method. What you can do, however, is to hound and crush anyone who employs it, and make the repercussions for its use so onerous that nobody with even a tiny, miniscule, infinitessimal fraction of a brain, (which would probably include most, if not all muslims, fascists, communists, and other assorted leftards), would consider it a viable strategy.
Terrorists can be defeated, but terrorism cannot, so it's best to stay focused on realistic, achievable goals, and stay away from the talking head soundbites.

We can also minimise our chance of being screwed by terrorists by keeping likely terrorists from our shores. A ban on islam would be a good start. Laura Mansfield and other writers have exposed the mosques as breeding grounds for hatred against the west. This has been proven time and time again and yet we let these evil structures exist in our communities. The day will come when we burn them all and drive the vermin out.
Posted by: Jester at December 06, 2005 07:57 PM (wBDaS)
19
Good point Jester, but we could get off to a better start by simply prosecuting violations of standing laws against incitement to violence. If we want the government to notice and start doing something, some famous Christian preacher should stand up and call for the eradication of Jews so that the media could make a big deal of it, and then we could expose them for the hypocrites they are, because they never seem to notice all the islamic anti-Jewish hate speech.

The Blame Game
Well, you can tell that an election year is coming up. The Democrats are trying to indict Tom Delay for anything that they can possibly scrape up. Democratic mouthpieces are coming out of the woodwork to talk about how corrupt this administration is and attempting to tie them to every wrongdoer being indicted, investigated, charged or on trial. They've even trying to use the 9/11 comission in their desperate grab for power. It seems to me that when the original 9/11 report came out, they went to great lengths not to blame anyone for that horrible act of terrorism. Yes, Clinton could have done things differently. So could most Presidents before him. Of course that doesn't keep the Democrats from taking that report and attempting to point fingers.
It seems that the one thing they want to harp on most is the lack of a unified communication system for all police, fire, emergency and other first responders. The 9/11 comission had recommended this as a suggestion in their report. Now Democrats are saying that this "Republican stranglehold" on Congress is preventing anyone from doing anything to implement it. A number of Democratic congressmen are attempting to place the blame solely at the feet of the Republicans for this not happening yet. Now, I can't seem to find a straight story on the whole thing, but it looks to me as if Congress has been attempting to free up some spectrum for this for some time. There is currently a law that requires TV broadcasters to give up analog spectrum in favor of digital by December 31, 2006. Unfortunately, there was also a huge loophole left in that law. TV broadcasters only have to give up the spectrum in areas where 85% of the TV sets are digital capable. By those standards, it could take quite some time to clear that spectrum. Senator McCain (a Republican of all things) and Conrad Burns (another Republican) are attempting to change this by setting a hard date of January 1, 2009 for release of the disputed spectrum. This bill was amended in comittee (by another Republican!) to set the deadline at 2008 instead of 2009. It has currently been introduced to the Senate, but I can't find the status of it from there.
Now, there were a number of Democrats on TV last night at a press conference taking every possible shot at their Republican counterparts, and of course the emergency spectrum was something they harped on quite a bit. I don't seem to recall, however, any of them mentioning McCain's actions. But hey, maybe they just forgot. No, that couldn't be, because they actually did mention one part of McCain's bill. They mentioned the fact that the original estimate for getting the needed spectrum was $15 Billion, but the Republicans were only willing to spend $500 million on it. Their conclusion, of course, was that the Republicans wanted to put a cheap price tag on the safety of American citizens. Of course the actual truth of the matter is that passing McCain's bill will only cost a small fraction of what they started out wanting to spend. I can only see saving $14.5 million as a Good Thing.
The yammering went on for quite a while after that, but to be honest I lost interest in listening to how Evil Bush and his Republican Cronies are responsible for all the woes in our society. One of the reporters at that press conference must have gotten a little tired of it as well. He asked them why, if these issues were so important, the Democrats hadn't done anything about them. That was when the whole "Republican stranglehold" was mentioned.
So I just want to make sure that I have this straight. A conservative judge on the Supreme Court is such a horrendous threat to our American way of life that the Democrats are willing to stop the entire government from moving forward by filibuster simply to prevent him from being appointed. But when it comes to potentially saving the lives of thousands, or even millions of Americans, you are completly powerless? Something about that doesn't sound right. I'm pretty sure that any Senator or Congressman can introduce a bill. And I'm pretty sure that there are enough Democrats still in both houses that it would at least stand some reasonable chance of getting through. So take a good, hard look at yourself and give us a real answer. If this issue is as important as you say it is, are you REALLY doing everything you can to make sure it is taken care of?

Of course the best way to defuse the democrats argument of corruption is to TAKE A STRONGER STANCE AGAINST IT We should be MORE critical of our own party than the opposition. Would you spend more time in disciplining your own children then the neighbors ? Should we as republicans appear to condone corruption in our own ?

John, you're exactly right, and I say that if a Republican is caught in an actual, factual, verifiable incident of corruption, then ready the gallows. Of course this goes for Democrats as well, but they will destroy themselves with their own corruption eventually, which is a good thing, but we must not allow corruption within the only major party that currently holds any traditional American values.

Agent Jones has trawled up a treat and has received the Architect's "Diligence in Chowder Award":
As quoted from http://kurtnimmo.com/?p=147
"Norman Kember and Bluto
Friday December 02nd 2005, 9:54 am
Some guy calling himself “the Dread Pundit Bluto” is confused because Google returns Uruknet as a news site. Mr. Bluto was in search of news on Norman Kember, the Christian abducted in Iraq by the fake resistance—or alternatively one of the Pentagon’s black op counterinsurgency pseudo-gangs—and stumbled upon one of my blog entries, posted on the Uruknet site. According to Bluto, it stands to reason Kember, a pensioner in his mid-seventies with a long history of pacifism (the 1950s, according to Kember’s family, he chose to work as a hospital porter rather than enter into any form of military service), is indeed a spy, probably because Mr. Bluto, like so many Americans, believes whatever pabulum the corporate media feeds him. Of course, this should probably be expected from a guy who goes by the name of a thick-witted cartoon character.
Instead of telling us why he believes my assertion arrives from “tinfoil hat territory,” Mr. Bluto instead decides to play a semantic game, stating that white phosphorus is not a chemical weapon, as I erroneously stated in my blog entry. Indeed, white phosphorus is not technically a chemical munition, like nerve or CS gas. Instead of elaborating on this “faux pas,” Mr. Bluto mentions in passing my assertion (well enough documented) that the Pentagon is running counterinsurgency ops in Iraq and concludes I am insane. Of course, as a good (brainwashed) American, Mr. Bluto believes the Bushcons and the Pentagon are sincerely incapable of such behavior and naturally Arabs and Muslims are responsible for such. Yes, of course, and Saddam had a tea party with Osama, and Saddam showed Osama his shiny new aluminum tubes. I know this because Judith Miller and crew told me so. Never mind that Judy now admits to being a scurrilous liar, although she does not characterize herself as such (she simply made “mistakes” contributing to the mass murder of over 100,000 Iraqis).
Normally, I ignore chowderheads such as Mr. Bluto, real name unknown. But I couldn’t resist because the guy is a primary example of the typical brainwashed American completely void on the subject of military and intelligence history.
Mr. Bluto is the prototypical American no-nothing."

Religion of Peace Jamboree
(Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) Kings and presidents of the 57 nations comprising the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will meet for an emergency
summit meeting tomorrow in the city of Mecca. Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz called the meeting to discuss the Muslim world's pressing issues and predicaments. According to OIC officials, the meeting's
emphasis will be "reforming, restructuring, and redefining the OIC charter and its mission."
Specific agenda items to be considered include:
- Adoption of a 10-year plan to restructure the Islamic nation,
- Approve a name change for the OIC to "Organization of Islamic Countries,"
- Discuss and implement proposals to address Islamophobia,
- Implement a strengthened Islamic academy of jurists to issue unified fatwas,
- Discuss and implement reduced obstacles to trade and business among Muslim countries,
- Discuss proposals for the empowerment of women, and
- Discuss a proposal for OIC member countries to collectively design and build a passenger plane. Late-night joke writers take note.
My thinking is that the idea of unified fatwas should have been implemented long ago. The current system seems to allow anyone to issue a fatwa about anything at any time. In
my estimation, there are more controls on fortune cookies than fatwas.
Notably, the leaders of all 57 member states of the OIC have been invited to the meeting with the exception of non-Muslim leaders. Non-Muslims are not allowed in Mecca (Makkah). According to OIC spokesman Atta Mannan, "Reports in the local media that they would monitor the proceedings on closed circuit television in Jeddah are not true," he said. "We can't expect the heads of state to sit in Jeddah while the summit is taking place in Makkah," he said. "They will, however, be represented by high-level delegations."
OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stated that the body wants to have a significant role in resolutions adopted by the UN. He also stated that the OIC should have a seat on the UN Security Council. The summit is planned to end on Thursday.

This should be a productive meeting. On par with all the others in the past that have produced so many changes and benefits.
Just some thoughts on this one:
Adoption of a 10 year plan to restructure the Islamic Nation.......to include Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Holland and Denmark
Discuss proposals for the empowerment of women....by providing them with better kitchen appliances and heavier, more durable burqas, possibly without the pesky breathing holes.
Discuss a proposal for OIC member countries to design and build a passenger plane.......economics are promising since issues such as performance and durability are negated due to each plane only having to make a one way trip.
As a side note, design and construction in the Middle East has a completely different meaning. Since memorising the Koran doesn't make one an engineer, design and construction translates as "we'll write the cheques, pay the bribes and get the infidels to do all the work for us - as we have done with every other project considered to be a source of national pride in the region".

They should not limit themselves to opening up trade within Muslim countries, they should ponder buisness with all countries. Egypt comes to mind. India. This should also be lumped in with Empowerment of Muslim women. Enough of handicapping your economy by forbidding the contributions of women.
Pick up a glove and get in the game!

On Saving Saddam
Looking at pictures from
carnivale (a.k.a. The Saddam Show in Baghdad), I noticed a few things. First, the odd similarities between "President" Hussein and Don Flamenco from
Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Compare Don with
the picture in this post and judge for yourself:

See? Anyway, that was an unimportant point, as I have NES flashbacks constantly. Beyond that, I came to a startling conclusion. We MUST save Saddam Hussein. We cannot let him die. His DNA is too important to piss away, especially since his sons met a far nobler end (well, as noble as perishing in a shootout with a teenage boy in your company can be).
But why must Saddam live?

The Erotic Bible Calendar

Finally a calendar that says "I'm Christian" and "I love to lust after nude women" all in one. Move over Hooker Headers, here comes the erotic bible calendar! I'm thinking that
Professor Chaos might finally be won over to Jebus with this one.
You can see some of the calendar here. (NSFW or Church or Synagogue and definitely NSFM [not safe for mosque]) Unfortunately for you pervs, the calendar is sold out.
Perhaps the most disturbing thing about this--besides the fact that's it's a fundraiser for a Christian youth group--is the fact that there is a disclaimer on the site that reveals that some of the models were under 18. So, is this German 'Christian' organization peddling child-porn for Jesus?
I guess that simply being nude doesn't meet the legal requirement for child pornography, but it is kind of creepy. I mean, exactly what do these people think guys are going to be doing while looking at these hot young chicks in erotic poses? Contemplating the mysteries of the Trinity?
Apparently the kids who were over 16 but under 18 had permission from their parents to pose nude for the calendar. Yeah, I'll let my little Grettle pose nude, I mean, as long as it's for Christ. This is equally disturbing.

Bernard Planche of FRANCE Taken HOSTAGE in Iraq

A French civilian has been taken hostage in Iraq. His name is
Bernard Planche. He is reported to be a civil engineer helping to rebuild Iraq. This would be the fourth French hostage taken in Iraq since the beginning of the war.
Forbes:
Masked gunmen grabbed a French engineer off the streets of Baghdad on Monday, the latest in a spate of kidnappings of Westerners that coincides with Saddam Hussein's trial and the run-up to parliamentary elections. ...
French officials had also warned Planche, who was abducted from outside his home in the Mansour district of the capital, French Foreign Ministry spokesman Jean-Baptiste Mattei said.
The kidnappers used three cars to surrounded Planche and take him away, police Capt. Qassim Hussein said. Planche is the head of mission for a group that works on U.S.-funded water projects.
Diplomats have said they are in close contact with Iraqi authorities to win the release of the hostages.
That makes 6 Westerners taken hostage in the last week. All of them either in Iraq as anti-war activists or from countries that were against the Iraq invasion.
See The Jawa Report's hostage page for more.
Developing...
Planche was in Iraq to work on water sanitation projects, much like American hostage Jeffrey Ake. He worked for AACCESS a U.N. recognized NGO and which was funded by the U.S. Army. Your mujahidin at work........

The French are ungrateful frogs with short memories. They are without national pride and have gone butts up to the muslim and african hoardes the dumbshits have allowed to enter their nation. Soon their will be no france. Personally, I was sad to the the riots in france stop. But, I know there will be more and much worse.

Islamic Jihad Targets Civilians

Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for today's murders of Israeli shoppers near a Netanya mall. While such acts of terror are nothing new from Palestinian terrorists, the image above and to the right shows just why this is a much larger problem. It is a photo of an Islamic Jihad rally in Gaza. The rally is both
public and
sanctioned by the Palestinian Authority.
The image below was taken at an Islamic Jihad press conference. Yes, you got that right, this was taken at a press conference held by various terrorist organizations and known by the Palestinian Authority.
Whatever happened to the Bush Doctrine of treating terrorists and the states that sponsor them alike? Clearly, the Palestinian Authority is much more closely linked to terrorist organizations than Iraq ever was.
Via Charles Johnson this JPOST article:
Four people were killed and 66 were wounded - three seriously - in an explosion that rocked the entrance to the Hasharon shopping mall on Herzl Street in Netanya at 11:25 a.m. Monday morning. Another person died on the operating table at Laniado Hospital in Netanya.
Police Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi told reporters that the bomber was "identified 15 meters in front of the mall by policemen and a security guard. Police managed to keep him away from the gate, and he blew himself up when police approached him to conduct a search of his bags."...
The Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the attack in a phone call to Palestinian journalists, identifying the bomber as Lutfi Amin Abu Salem, a resident of the northern West Bank village of Kafr Rai, located between the towns of Jenin and Tulkarm.
File under: how about giving these guys a full-fledged, U.N. voting state?
Check out Powerline with images from mall.

A bit of humor from a friend in California...
NEW ELEMENT FOUND!
The recent hurricanes and skyrocketing oil and gasoline prices helped to prove the existence of a new element. In early October 2005, a major research institution announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element has been named "Governmentium."
Governmentium (Gv) has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called 'morons' which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called 'peons.' Since Gv has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Gv causes one reaction to take over four days to complete, when it would normally take less than a second!
Gv has a normal half-life of 4 years; it does not decay; but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact,Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming 'isodopes.' This characteristic of moron promotion leads most scientists to believe that Gv is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as 'Critical Morass.'
When catalyzed with money, Gv becomes "Administratium' (Am) - an element which radiates just as much energy as Gv, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

The asswipe in the ski mask could be used on lefty humanitarian posters:
This is Khaleed. He lives in Gaza and is ruthlessly oppressed by evil Zionists and their American weapons. When Khaleed isn't trying to kill one of his sisters for dishonouring his family, he must struggle to survive. Everyday at first light, he goes to the nearby highway where he shoots at passing cars and school buses in an attempt to get them to stop and 'donate' money and valuables which he will then use to buy essential items such as anti-personnel mines for self defense against the Zionist enemy. You can make a difference in Khaleed's life. For just one dollar a day, you can provide him and others like him with a new M-16 rifle, ammunition, an education in beheading and explosives use and help in locating his sister who married the Afghan car salesman without permission. Please donate now.

Somebody Forgot to Tell the Troops That They're "Worn Out"
When US Representative Jack Murtha publicly characterized our troops as "broken, worn out" and "living hand-to-mouth," I decided to check the allegation out. Since Murtha was complaining mainly about military equipment, I reasoned that the symptoms would show up at major theater repair depots.
So I sought out the opinion of an NCO I know, who supervises mechanics at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. Early in his deployment, this soldier had mentioned trouble getting parts and snafus like the engines of some "up-armored" Humvees not being able to handle the extra weight of the armor.
The sergeant had not heard about Murtha's comments; outside news sources are few at Arifjan, and the soldiers there are too busy keeping things in good repair to spend time surfing the 'net.

Come on lil' jawa ... - be truly bold n' don't play this whinney weinie legalistic semantic game of the wishy-washy Dems ... "broken???????"
be proud n' say it ...
"We are defeated! we have lost! We must retreat!"
Broken is a discriptive adjective but it is also extremely vague, and open to selective interpretation with implied "nuiances" (love that word).
The Dems use language like this to "walk the line"- to give them the option of saying "I didn't mean it that way".
If they did come out boldly and clear - then the American public would demand 2 things ...
1) Some realistic degree of PROOF of our defeat provided by (guess who) the MEDIA! This would put the media on the spot! They can slant the news, focus solely on hardships suffered by the Iraqi people (from the insurgency - its unavoidable) and other issues ... but they can't actually show a "DEFEAT"! Nor can them Dems for that matter. (note HRC is currently trying out "mis-managed")
2) The American people would fully expect the Dems to end it with bills and votes in Congress!!!!!!!! Not press-releases or 15 minutes on Face the Nation! And that is not happening!
Everyone note - the Dems may not be doing anything to help the war effort (and some trying to undermine it) - but none are actually trying to stop it with their congressional authority and powers.
An old (& now conservative) term many here would understand
NO BALLS NO GLORY

rummy spoke of the left-wing meme - that the army is broken, and called it unadutlerated BS (NOT his words!).
he said that the army is stronger, better trained, better experienced now than at any time EVER in our history.
also: he cautioned against using NUMBERS to grade the military.
3 smart bombs are more effective than 50 dumb bombs.
ditto other miltary assets - including service members.
so: murtha is just flat out WRONG!

The Struggle to Gauge a War's Psychological Cost
By BENEDICT CAREY
Published: November 26, 2005
http://tinyurl.com/cltz5
A continuing study of combat units that served in Iraq has found that about 17 percent of the personnel have shown serious symptoms of depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder - characterized by intrusive thoughts, sleep loss and hyper-alertness, among other symptoms - in the first few months after returning from Iraq, a higher rate than in Afghanistan but thought to be lower than after Vietnam.
In interviews, many members of the services and psychologists who had completed extended tours in Iraq said they had battled feelings of profound grief, anger and moral ambiguity about the effect of their presence on Iraqi civilians.
Psychologists and psychiatrists on the ground have to break through the mental toughness that not only keeps troops fighting but also prevents them from seeking psychological help, which is viewed as a sign of weakness. And they have been among the first to identify
the mental reactions particular to this war.
One of them, these experts say, is profound, unreleased anger. Group cohesion is strong, and the bonds only deepen in the hostile desert terrain of Iraq. For these tight-knit groups, certain kinds of ambushes - roadside bombs, for instance - can be mentally devastating, for a variety of reasons. "These guys go out in convoys, and boom: the first vehicle gets hit, their best friend dies, and now they're seeing life flash before them and get a surge of adrenaline and want to do something," said Lt. Col. Alan Peterson, an Air Force psychologist who completed a tour in Iraq last year. "But often there's nothing they can do. There's no enemy there."
Another powerful factor is ambiguity about the purpose of the mission, and about Iraqi civilians' perception of the American presence. The Americans had been handing out candy to children and helping residents fix their houses the day before the ambush, and they felt they had been set up, he said.
The entire unit, he said, was coursing with rage, asking: "What are we doing here? Why aren't the Iraqis helping us?"
The emotional casualties, Colonel Ritchie said, are "not just an Army medical problem, but a problem that the V.A. system, the civilian system and the society as a whole must work to solve."
That is the one thing all seem to agree on. Some veterans, like Sergeant Flanders and Sergeant Willis, have reconnected with other men in their units to help with their psychological adjustment to home life. Sergeant Willis has been transferred to noncombat duty at Camp Pendleton, in an environment he knows and enjoys, and he can see Commander Hoyt when he needs to. Sergeant Flanders is studying to be an officer.
But others, particularly reservists and National Guard troops, have landed right back in civilian society with no one close to them who has shared their experience.
Specialist Pickett, since her return, has felt especially cut off from the company she trained and served with. She has struggled at school, and with the Veterans Affairs system to get counseling, and no one near her has had an experience remotely like hers. She has tried antidepressants, which have helped reduce her suicidal thinking.
She has also joined Operation Truth, a nonprofit organization that represents Iraq veterans, which has given her some comfort.
Finally, she said, she has been searching her memory and conscience for reasons to justify the pain of her experience: no one, Specialist Pickett said, looks harder for justification than a soldier.
Dr. Marlowe, the former chief of psychiatry at Walter Reed, knows from studying other wars that this is so.
"The great change among American troops in Germany during the Second World War was when they discovered the concentration camps," Dr. Marlowe said. "That immediately and forever changed the moral appreciation for why we were there."
As soldiers return from Iraq, he said, "it will be enormously important for those who feel psychologically disaffected to find something which justifies the killing, and the death of their friends."

>>>"they're not worn out, the force is "broken"
hondo,
their whiny talk isn't all that hard to decipher. Here is a direct translation from the Libspeak: the U.S. must be defeated at all costs and our troops withdrawn with tail tucked securely between legs so that Democrats can win in '08. Should America win the Iraq war, Democrats are toast for the next 40 years.

Hostage Video: "We are being treated well"
We have finally obtained portions of the unedited hostage video of four Western peace activists. The names of the four activists are American Thomas Fox--
who is also a blogger, Canadians Harmeet Singh Sooden and James Loney, and British citizen Norman Kember.
The Jawa Report was the first media outlet to reveal the names of the hostages.
You can watch the video here (hat tip: Shawn at Bareknucklepolitics, Ian at Political Teen, and Doubletap at Infovlad--all of whom e-mailed me)
Here is a transcript of the video, via Doubletap at Infovlad:
Thank you very much we are being treated well and we hope to be out of here soon.
Um We are being treated well we are both well all of us are well.
We are all being treated well we are sleeping ok um and um we would like to thank the people holding us for that and hopefully we will be home soon.
I ask Mr Blair to take British troops out of Iraq and leave the Iraqi people to come to their own decisions on their government.
As a representative of Christian Peace Maker Teams we feel that continued British and American occupation is not in the best interest of the Iraqi people.
The peace activists seem much more reluctant than Giuliana Sgrena to pour out their emotions.
We will be following this hostage crisis carefully.

From Jihad Watch:
CAIR protests kidnapping of collaborators
Has CAIR ever protested against the kidnapping of anyone else in Iraq? If so, please send me the links here and I will post them as updates. But this protest of the kidnapping of the collaborators is the first one I personally can recall ever seeing from them. From "Frenchman target of latest Iraq kidnapping," from AFP, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
Just a day earlier, one of the most prominent US Muslim organizations, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, became the latest group to demand the release of the four Western Christian peace activists kidnapped last week.
The two Canadians, one Briton and an American, are linked to the US and Canada-based Christian Peacemaker Teams opposed to the continued presence of US-led foreign troops in Iraq.
"Those who left the comfort of their homes to advocate for the rights of others that do not share their faith, ethnicity or language should be celebrated and honored by Muslims, not humiliated by being made captives or, God forbid, killed," said Parvez Ahmed, the organization's chairman.
"This is a universal human ideal and a cherished principle of Islam."
In other words, "They're on your side, you idiots. Let them go."
So, I'm not just a voice crying in the wilderness.

Shackleford Opts for Free Agency
Despite rumors, started by

Lee Greenwald did an excellent job of describing why Willis, and those like him, used one disingenuous sentence as a ploy to end discussion rather than encourage it and to paint a majority with a broad brush. I thought Greenwald was fair and concise.
The comment section gave further proof of why some refuse to admit that they may have to adjust their opinions if they actually listen.
Yet, they'll make excuses when unfettered immigration threatens to undermine the social fabric in other countries.
For example; if an American moves to, say, France and refuses to learn the language, won't adapt to social norms and expects special treatment economically, they would quickly criticize that American. As well should be. All in the same breath they have a different opinion on the recent turmoil in France involving a large number of immigrants and their children who have not adapted or assimilated. They say
France hasn't help them to assimilate. Here, they demand a different standard. We shouldn't force them to assimilate and should just let them stream across the border and off the planes and boats. It usually boils down to whether Americans are involved on either side of the issue as to what standard is applied.
Sometimes I think we should just hand half the country over to them, let them screw everything up (which they'll inevitably do) and then invade them, straighten it out and ensure their marginalization permanently.
