Images and links to video below.
Two new hostage video emerged over the weekend. One depicting two Americans and a British hostage being threatened with death unless "female prisoners in Iraq were released". I am afraid that these hostages have no hope--none. Another video shows the murder of three Iraqi kurds by the Army of al Sunna, a terrorist organization run by Abu Musab al Zarqawi with links to al Qaeda. The beheading video begins with a 'confession' by the three Kurds who were working for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, a long-time partner of the United States against the Hussein regime. The terrorists then cut off their heads with a knife. In Afghanistan, the remnant Taliban army has announced that it has beheaded three government soldiers. The Religion of Peace and compassion has struck again. You can download the Kurdish beheading video here or here, both require free registration but at least they are not Ogrish and are openly pro-American. I have posted several pictures from the video below, in the extended entry. Why do I do this? Because we need constant reminders of the evil forces we are fighting against. We are up against people who do this sort of thing because they believe it is the right thing to do. We are fighting an ideology, not simply a gang of criminals. When are so-called decent Muslims going to rise up and revolt against the extremists in their faith? I am beginning to think that the Islamic leaders are moral cowards. If you cannot stand against the evil in your religion, then you are as much to blame as Bin Laden. The day is coming when even goo Muslims will pay dearly because of the evil ones in their midst. It will eventually lead to nuclear war.

There are some sick Mother Fuckers in this world. They think this is the only way to solve their problems. These people shouldn't even be called people. they are taking away someone's life for the sake of their own. I mean what the fuck do these innocent people have to do with anything that is going on in the world? This is some twisted wierd shit man. They are monsters they don't deserve to live.

What is wrong with these people? Beheading is not something great and wonderful. These three men were not against them. They were trying to help them. This is sick and so wrong in every way possible. These men had familes. They weren't meant to die. The men who have done this deserve to not be alive.

Its unremarkable how this outrage is done in the name of religion that Allah Our Father in heaven would even want these killings to happen. In all religions there are rules and killing is prohibited in all. " Thou shall not kill." These are unjustified killings. These killers are so unhappy with their earthbound state, that all they want is to watch others suffer, instead of protecting the land and keeping it sacred they shed blood upon her. No man/human has the right to take what Allah Our Father has placed on his grounds. Repent for the time is near for peace to come and Allah who knows all even the number of hairs on your heads will have his justice, just as you think you are having justice. Admit you kill because you love it and not because it is justified under Allah. For The Father is very angry for these things. You have damned yourselves for nothing you say will grant you the kingdom of heaven for even Moses in his day of death was almost in the chalice of Satan for even God knew he had repented and done good therefore won his soul. And for all the People of God and the Americas as will as around the world. Fear not the body for the soul is something only God owns. Justice will come and those who have condemned themselves for the sake of anger and jealousy will be forever lost in Gods eyes. Peace God is with all of us. Shalom. Walk with no fear. Love be to all people of God!

Australian's Body Found in Iraq
Is the body of a Westerner found in the Tigris River that of an Australian said to have been abducted last week? Don't know yet, but the Aussies are looking into it. Have I mentioned that the Aussies already have sent an 'Aggressive Negotiations' team to Iraq? Oh, and
Aussie Pixie Misa notes that "
Yes, all [Aussie] negotiators are equipped with grenades and 50-cal sniper rifles, why do you ask?"
Queensland Sunday Mail:
AUSTRALIA'S embassy in Baghdad is investigating a report that the body of a western man has been found in the Tigris River near Samarra in central Iraq.[MORE]

American Hostages Named
Earlier I reported that two more American hostages have been taken in Iraq.
Reuters now names them as Jack Hensley and Eugene Armstrong. The third hostage's name will be released later, after the British authorities have contacted his family.
All three worked for Gulf Supplies and Commercial (GSCS) services, a Doha Qatar company. On 4/16/2003 GSCS was awarded a contract by the US Army Corps Of Engineers for "Life Support Services". On 3/14/04 GSCS was awarded a $47 million dollar contract with with the Coalition Provisional Authority for "Base Camp Life Support". GSCS also has several sub-contracts providing services in Iraq, including: building and servicing camps for coalition forces and civillian construction workers, installin LAN equipment and other telecommunicatins equipment, servicing Seabees engages in building orphanages and other infrastructure improvements, and other general contracting and servicing projects.

The video opens with shots of a truck convoy that has just been attacked. It then shows three Arab men 'confessing' to the 'crime' of driving trucks bringing supplies to the coalition forces. The tape then cuts to three people being shot in the back as they lie face down on the ground. According to Global Terror Report, the terrorists warn on the tape:
"anyone who co-operates with the crusader forces to repent [from supporting] the infidels and apostates... or the mujahideen will kill you."

Hostage Update: Americans, Britons, Australians
Earlier reports had said that 3 British citizens were kidnapped in Iraq. It looks like it might have been 2 Americans and 1 Briton. But you know what they say: "All infidels look alike". Also, the Aussies have decided to send in the

British Man Shot in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Religion of peas update. Notice the last sentence.
JPOST:
A British man was shot dead Wednesday in a parking lot outside an eastern Riyadh shopping center, a Saudi Interior Ministry official said.
An unidentified Interior Ministry spokesman gave no further details about the victim, who was shot near the Max discount shopping center in the eastern districts of the Saudi capital.
Earlier, Saudi-owned TV station Al-Arabiya said the man was shot dead with four bullets while in the shopping center's car park.
Police ringed the area looking for whoever was behind the killing as an ambulance removed the victim's body.
The motive for the killing was not immediately known.

He wasn't an Arab muslim. Maybe he was someone's boss. Maybe an owner of a company that works in Iraq. Unless the Saudi's release his name and profile, we will never know why this man was shot four times. Saudi Arabia is full of terrorists, even tho it seems they are actively searching them out.

3 Beheaded Bodies Found, Possibly Australian or French Hostages
UPDATE: Newer sources indicate the bodies were probably those of Arabs. Frequent commenter Cindy put two and two together and wonders about the fate of the
four Iraqi policemen that were captured five days ago. Could thre of them have met this horrible fate? Oh, and PS:
Beheading is unislamic.
Via the Drudge of the blogosphere, Jeff Quinton, this rather disgusting if not surprising news. Notice the allusion to the 3 bodies being those of foreigners. Perhaps the Australians or the French journalists? Which reminds me, I need to get on the murdered hostages update. What are we up to? 35 murdered hostages, since 9/11? Does any one have a running count of how many of those hostages have been beheaded?
The decapitated bodies of three men, their heads strapped to their backs and the corpses put in nylon bags, were found dumped by a roadside north of Baghdad Wednesday, Iraqi police and U.S. officials said.

Oh, and PS: Beheading is unislamic.
Question: Probably a stupid one but I'll ask it anyway. The Saudi's are islamists, correct? Well, their normal penalty for a crime is death and death by beheading. It's done all the time. But the way they do it is a lot different than the way the terrorists are doing it. But death by beheading is a really strict penalty and it's done like almost immediately after conviction. Gosh, can you imagine if they were ever wrong? Man, what I can't figure out is how we actually allow these countries to do this - ick. I'd be afraid to jay-walk with their penalties.
And on those men, their hands were tied behind their backs (I think with plastic ties) and were definitely Iraqi. They should know soon who they are. If it is the Iraqi police - where's the fourth??

Syria Using Chemical Weapons in Sudan
A German news report is about to break claiming that the genocide in Darfur is being helped by Syrian chemical weapons. Perhaps Saddam's missing WMD are being used after all? Just thinking out loud. Via
Charles Johnson this really
odd news. Note that the source of the story is an Arabic internet site. The credibility of this report is pretty doubtful:
Syria tested chemical weapons on civilians in Sudan's troubled western Darfur region in June and killed dozens of people.

Sudan is thought to have a miniscule latent Chem capability (primarily ancient blister agents), but I would count this story as being unlikely in the
extreme. First off, Arab news sources are some of the world's most *ahem* 'poetic' when it comes to WMD reporting. Secondly, there's just no sense in using such weapons on front stage. And third, Syria may be dumb, but they're no where near dumb enough to have supplied weapons to help in the genocide right now. The Sudanese (if there using any at all) may be using something gotten from Syria years ago.

Actually, it's from a European source, AFP, reporting on what's supposed to be in Wednesday's edition of a German newspaper. The fact that the wire happens to be found via the website of an Arab news site is what you're getting wrapped up in.

I agree. I'm losing count of them all. Somebody, somewhere said there were 80 plus kidnapped and over half already dead. I'm forgetting where I even put the info, it's getting so hard to keep up. Weren't there 2 others taken at the same time as these two? This is getting ridiculous. If US and Coalition are bombing the daylights - which they could do but aren't - out of the areas they believe these assoles are, the hostages could get killed, too. As Much as I'd see a hostage get killed, it would be worth it if we could get these bastards dead to rights.

KESQ:
Al-Qaida-linked militants have posted a videotape on a Web site purportedly showing a kidnapped Turkish driver's beheading.
The video has the victim identifying himself as one of the Turkish contractors kidnapped last month. He speaks in Turkish with Arabic subtitles, describing his job transporting goods to an American military base in Mosul.
After that, the picture fades to a black screen with a title reading "the execution," followed by warnings from masked, armed militants to foreign drivers and grisly footage of the beheading.
The video was digitally dated August 17th. It was posted on the Web site used by a a group headed by Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Updates later.
UPDATE: The victim's name is Durmus Kumdereli. He was killed last month. What is especially odd about this is that his companion, Mustafa Koksal, was released a month ago. Why would they let one go and kill the other one?

Rusty,
You and I both know that 98% of the people in this world, especially here in the United States have no CLUE as to the barbaric savagery of these terrorists. If they did, I swear they'd be more support in getting rid of them around the globe.

thenausea.com has it too. Longer version. Gross.
How did these people come to be? How do they find such pleasure in such a barbaric act? How can they even do it without puking? I honestly do not know what makes terrorists tick.
Can anyone explain to me this mindset?

It's a real tuff one. To destroy all the footage is like choosing ignorance. I decided to watch the footage and my heart fell as before I had not imagined such acts of barbarity possible. What a complete and utter disregard for life. This breed of human has been grossly misinformed from birth.
If nothing else allow the footage of these poor innocent victims deaths to be shown in order to raise awareness.
Us as a species has made this World a very sick place to live and all based around our belief in something that has never been seen and doesn't exist!!!

Are they imbreed? I don't understand how they can do this. I wish something could be done to kill off all of those people. All they are doing is taking up air.

My friend recently returned from Iraq. He has been helping the Red Cross in digging wells for the people in the villages without water. You need to take a look at the destruction that the american army is doing over there. Children are dying daily from the massive air strikes in Fallujah. He says the soldiers kill innocent people for fun and have a total disregard for the iraqi people. They opened fire on a non-violent protest in May and killed 170 people. Just like that. We didn't hear about that one on CNN. Another ironic fact that he passed on was re: the Ministry of Oil and how that was the first building that was secured. It has to this day remained unscarred while the buildings around it are left to ruin. You know, 3 hard facts remain: 1. No WMD's found, 2. Tyrants have been untouched by the U.S in other nations such as Darfur Sudan, Moggabe in Zimbabwe, North Korea, Ivory Coast, the list goes on... Saddam (hand-picked by the americans) has now been found to have no real links with Al Quaeda as admitted by Rumsfeld. What is the difference between the tyrant of Iraq and those mentioned above?; 3. Bin Laden is still at large.
This is not a war, it is an invasion. The biggest lie comes from the puppet iraqi government and US forces stating that the insurgents want to create unrest in iraq. History tells us that the rich and powerful nations have always used propaganda and force to create unrest in developing countries rich with natural resources for their own purposes. One does not want to view their own country as being an invader of another, particularly us in the West, but the reality is, it's true.

There are many animals and sadists in this world espessially in the middle east. When they are not put in a jail other people suffer. And it does not matter who they are. So Fucking W.Bush created mess in Irak. And now he has to be executed first. Then there will be peace.
All american propaganda must be put down . Most NATO people are fuckers.THOSE WHO ARE KILLED ARE INNOCENT. A couple of nuclear bombs would be good for the whole midle east. Then nobody would suffer any more. And nobody would fight for oil too. Fuck turks though. They are most fuckers in this world. They are the most garbage of this civilization. Their country should have been attacked instead but they have much oil. Some of them are good... . But you can not compare them with arab people. Turks are idiots at least and ass fuckers. Fuck all stupid europeans and other fuckers.
This is sadism. Nothing else- nobody proves nothing. All these guys should have been in jail at least. But there are many fuckers in this world who has to care for something but they don't. They want people to suffer. In conclusion fuck Bush and his friends including Turkey

{Smile} Hey Wild Bill, you know what they do with women, don't ya? Go back to Beslan School, Russia; not only did they rape and kill some of the girls and women (when they had time to do that I have no idea) but it's a fact that this was done, among other things. In that part of the world there is no respect for women and these two women who were abducted along with two Iraqi's (men or women??? notice noone says what sex the other 2 are?) are way too pretty for them not to do their "thing" with them. At the Russian seige, one idiot blew up the woman for the hell of it, so I sure hope these women are rather strong emotionally/psychologically. As to women prisoners, I have yet to hear of any, although I'm sure there must be but since women are degraded over there, useless and worthless, I'd say the odds are that any female prisoners in the US or Coalition forces is probably unlikely.

Ok so you guys might find these facts kinda interesting.
Dr. Khiltdon wrote a book about the phycology of Terrorist. The funny part is that it goes deep in their emotional being and it all comes down to some hidden homosexual desires.
I thought this was funny because they are so against homosexuality, yet internally thats what each Terrorist is fighting, so in essense they should just acknowledge their homosexuality and make love not war.

Do we need more evidence that Bush is escalating a war on terror? It's a good time to step back and ask ourselves whether attacking a country that didn't have an Islamic extremist problem and turning it into a breeding and training grounds for Islamic extremists, while angering the rest of the Arab world, alienating our own allies, and moving our focus away from the guys who attacked us on 9/11 (anyone remember bin Laden? -- three years is too long!) is really the best approach. This war is costing us an awful lot of money (not to mention lives, God bless them).
The point isn't really whether the terrorists are justified in what they're going. The point is whether WE are going about this in the best possible way.

Iraqi Policemen Held Hostage, Threatened with Murder
This is a good sign. Why? Because it confirms what Rumsfield and co. have been saying: the Iraqis are slowly becoming the frontline in the war on the insurgency. The terrorists feel the threat is now coming from the interim government as much as they do from the Coalition. Let's just hope these guys make it out alive.
Reuters:
An Iraqi rebel group has seized four Iraqi policemen in Najaf and threatened to kill them unless police agree to stop hunting insurgents and pressuring rebel cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, Al Jazeera television said Friday.

Of course they consider them a threat. Why do you think they keeping bombing, suicide bombing, car bombing police stations and training areas? If these people stand up for themselves, which they SHOULD be doing anyway, they CAN indeed stop the terrorists in their country. Look at the massive demonstrations against Al Sadr whom they do not want in their cities now? He and his Mehdi army are getting them killed and they want no part of him. Why can't we infiltrate and assinate the bastard? The Interim Government is deciding on whom to bomb and when, so these terrorist better learn that sooner or later, the Iraqi's will have to take care of their own country and pronto.

al Qaeda Tape Claims Winning in Afghanistan
Via
In the Bullpen news of a new al Qaeda tape. Right: A still image of Ayman al-Zawahri from the tape.
Fox News:
Ayman al-Zawahri (search), Usama bin Laden's right-hand man, appeared in a new videotape aired on Al Jazeera on Thursday, Reuters reported.
The number two figure in Al Qaeda (search) said U.S. forces have only limited movement in Afghanistan, Reuters reported.
Al-Zawahri was wearing a white turban with a machine gun at his side and spoke for several minutes in the videotape, Reuters reported.
It is largely believed that Al-Zawahri, an Egyptian doctor, is the brains behind the terror network.
Do I believe we are losing in Afghanistan? No, not on your life. But how can we win the minds and hearts of the Middle East as long as you have al Jazeera running stories like this? The image below is what Arabs see everyday. If you read this stuff and saw these images you would hate us too. Why do you think Noam Chomsky hates America?

They keep shutting down Al Jazeera but without missing a beat, they are always up again. Pure bias against the US and especially President Bush - probably because they weren't invited to the RNC.
As to the tape, I would imagine it's only there to further terrorize. "they are doing the maximum damage they can just about everywhere so that people in the US will not re-elect President Bush. Unfortunately that's just less than 2 months to go and you think it's nasty here? They are going to make it even nastier everywhere so people will think it's all his fault.

The US attack on Fallujah looks bad, really bad. To me as an Australian citizen it appears the US is using it's Armed Forces to brutally murder innocent civilians in order to secure access to oil reserves. Oil that it is then going to use to pollute and kill the Earth. The world is scared, Bush is the real dictator. How can such an advanced country be sooooo stupid?????

Islam means Peace, dude
From the Religion of Irony comes this op-ed out the Arabic
Dar al Hayat. The gist of the op-ed is that murdering hostages is not justified. Great, but notice the contrast between say Paul or Peter or Buddha, who spread their faith through persuasion and Muhammed who used coersion to spread Islam.
There is an undisputed history, from which I will choose what was written back then, and was saved until today.
A military expedition was sent to Syria, in order to convert its people to Islam. [there is no condemnation of this in the op-ed] All the members of the mission were killed, except for 14 men and their commander. Also, Al Harith bin Omeir Al Azdi was sent to Hercules in order to convert him to Islam; but Sharhabil bin Omar Al Ghassani killed him on the way.
The Arab Prophet worried about the enemies who were waiting to kill the Muslims, [notice the spin here: Muhammed sends an army to force people to become Muslims, then the people who are defending themselves are somehow to blame for defending themselves] so he sent an army of 3,000 men, and told them: "do not backstab, do not get carried away, do not kill an infant or a woman, nor an old man, nor a hermit; do not harm palm trees, do not cut tress, and do not demolish constructionsÂ…" [thank you Muhammad, glad to know you just want to force us to convert to your religion, not kill our women, peas be upon your name]
These clear commandments were repeated by Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, who added to it, prior to sending the expedition of Osama bin Zaid, in the first of Apostasy Wars (unlike in Christianity and Judaism, apostasy is punishable by death in Islam). [that was the author's note, not mine. Get it dumbass multiculturalists? In Islam they kill you for leaving the faith. Once again, you leave you die.] He told the Muslim soldiers: "do not betray, do not get carried away, do not backstab, do not disfigure, do not kill an infant, nor the old; do not kill a woman, do not harm a palm tree or burn it. Do not cut a fruitful tree; do not slaughter a sheep, cow, or camel, except for food. You will encounter hermits on your way; let them be, and let them pursue their dedicationsÂ…" [again, thank you Muhammed, peas be upon your name, for only killing me for leaving your faith]

I would note that earlier in its evolution (round about the Middle Ages), Christians certainly had their share of warmaking in the name of spreading the Good Word.
I might also note:
* Ferdinand and Isabella expelled Moors and Jews from Spain.
* Under the Spanish Inquisition, repeated heresy was punishable by death.
* While the Thirty Years War had its roots in preservation of the Hapsburg dynasty, it was also a military conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism.
* In Salem, the Puritans hung individuals accused of witchcraft.
If we were to dig further, I am sure we would find that Christianity's litany of sins is as long as Islam's.

That's a total cop-out. Christianity evolved from a passifistic religion which operated outside the normal government santioned worship regime. It was not until Constantine that Christianity had to deal with the notion of Christians in power doing violence. From it's inception, Islam was violent. Further, Islam is rooted in the notion that there can be no seperation between Church and state which seems the crux of the dilemma. It officially endorses violence as a means to an end. Chrisianity officially rejects this from the beginning. Violence is introduced into Christianity at a later date. I'm no pacifist, violence is fine in my book under some conditions, but the Christian New Testament explicitly rejects the Old Testament violence.

I would further point out, then, that Christianity has evolved from pacifism to violence and to a more pacifistic state. Is it not possible for Islam to do the same?

It is not possible for Islam to do the same. Everything Islam is violent; everything about it is violent. The terrorists of today are muslims: I'm not saying every muslim is violent and soulless but I am saying that every (98%) of the terrorists are muslim. So, no, they can't be peaceful. These people are barbarians and should be wiped off the face of the earth; they have no right to live on this globe with the rest of us. Sure, there are sickos here and there but we're talking an entire religion of sickos but they are more than that - they are inhuman, inhumane, souless, unconscionable and this kind of crap has just got to end. It's that simple [PW].

I would argue in return that an overall condemnation of Islam for the deeds of a few terrorists makes no more sense than an overall condemnation of Christianity for the deeds of the Spanish Inquisition.

Listen Up Y'all it's a Genocide
Cajones? Check. Expect not so veiled threats from the Arab world
IBD:
The United States declared on Thursday genocide has occurred in Sudan's Darfur region and blamed the Khartoum government and Arab militias for the crisis that has driven more than a million people from their homes.
"We concluded that genocide has been committed in Darfur and that the government of Sudan and the Janjaweed bear responsibility and genocide may still be occurring," Secretary of State Colin Powell said in testimony prepared for delivery to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

They will continue to die by the thousands a day because the UN is not doing a thing about it and every day, every report sickens me even more. The hell with politics and the hell with the UN, somebody has to do something NOW rather than LATER. It's already too late.

Australian Embassy Bombed in Jakarta
Simon, an Australian by birth, is doing full coverage. He also has a blog roundup and reaction. Excellent resource. Might I be so bold to remind you that one of the convicted Bali bombers which killed 202, including 88 Australians,
was recently seen in a coffee shop with his Indonesian jailor? That is called "getting tough on terrorists" I guess in that part of the world. Oh, and when they
indicted another member of Jemaah Islamiyah last week for his part in the Bali bombing, it caused a riot.
VOA:
"Naturally enough, our suspicion turns to Jemaah Islamiyah," he said. "We had some advice a few days ago of possible terrorist attack in Jakarta focusing on Western-style hotels. And we changed our travel advisory to take that into account but we didn't have any information on a specific attack on the Australian Embassy at this time."

Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun Returns to his unit
File under: eating crow. When it was first revealed that Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun was abducted
I was among a number of notable bloggers (I'm also looking at you
Spoons) who said there was something fishy about this. I publicly apologize for casting dispersions on Cpl Hassoun's version of the story. I was completely wrong. I should not have jumped to any conclusions. I was way out of line. I also admit that his ethnicity as an Arab probably did cloud my judgement. Again, I am sorry. Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun deserves better than this. It looks like the worst he might have done was leave the base without permission, but probably to visit a girl he had met. He is not being accused of dessertion or treason. I am sorry for doubting your story. Thank you Cpl. Hassoun for your service.
UPDATE: Spoons responds.
AZCentral:
Marine Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun has returned to his unit in North Carolina, although his mysterious abduction by Islamic militants in Iraq has yet to be publicly explained.

An excellent post Rusty. You've shown once again why the new media is so much better than the old media. When we mistakes we most of us put those mistakes front and center and own up to them. Its not an easy thing to do. But we should remember that owning up to mistakes is much better than hiding them. To own up to them is to remain honest. To hide them is to start down a slippery slope of dishonesty.

I stand by everything I wrote. This guy went AWOL at the very least. I still firmly believe that by far the most likely explanation was that he was in league with his "kidnappers."
And I completely reject the idea of apologizing for believing this guy's Arab descent was a reason to suspect him.
OF COURSE it's a reason to suspect him. An Arab muslim goes AWOL from his unit, and ends up with a bunch of terrorists. That terrorist group threatens to kill him, but then doesn't. Still, by far the most reasonable assumption is that something hinky was up.
I suspect this guy more because he was an Arab muslim, and I'll be damned if I'll ever apologizze for it.
Besides, did you even read the story you linked to? It says right there that the military guys are still not sure whether they believe Hassoun, and that he could still face desertion charges.
You've got this one badly wrong, Jawa.

hmmm... not reading links, know the story.
Spoons, do you?
I think the only reason he's alive, was because at the time and the people who had him, respected the fact he was of Arab descent. When he did arrive in Lebanon, he somehow got to his family's home there and they all blocked the streets and the home with cars to protect him and keep him from any harm. The entire neighborhood did. He called the embassy right away, so neighbors and family kept watch until the Marines or whomever was able to get there and pick him up. From there he was flown to Germany and he spent about a month there in the psychiatric ward and physically treated as well; I'm not sure what his physical injuries were at the time. The psychiatric nurse was interviewed along with his muslim cleric (is that the right word for them?) after he left Germany. The doctor said that in time, after all he's been through, he should be okay as long as he kept up with therapy, et al. Obviously he was traumatized and more. The priest or whatever you call those guys said that someday his story would come out and when it did, everyone would understand. Both did say he had been through quite an ordeal but felt he would get through it and be allright in time. When he left Germany, he was flown to Quantico, where Marines are also based and spent another month there being debriefed, having therapy and so on. Twice the marines came out to do a short press conference and on the second one, Cpl Hassoun had a small statement that he read and then left. He did not look all that well; very pale, very stressed, sick-like and I know that look well because I have that same look. After a month there in Quantico, they reintroduced him to his family and slowly they let him go to spend time with his family. That also took another month of his life. After that, he returned to his unit and duty. Now that he is back, the questions remain and of course, the people we are hearing from are the media, not the marines, not Hassoun or a spokesman. After three months, I'm pretty sure they know his story exceptionally well and what he had been through. I blame the mainstream media for all this big deal mystery when to them, the Marines, and others, it's probably no mystery at all.
So I don't think it's very fair to judge him; we are not in his shoes, we have no idea what he went through or how the last three months of his life have been. It's not easy to be a marine, their boot camp is nothing like regular boot camp and you have to be mentally, psychologically, emotionally and physically strong to be a marine. I think we should give him more credit than doubt, Spoons. After all, he is a United States Marine.

I would just like to say that his whole story is BS. I am also a Marine, currently in Iraq, and I speak for all of the servicemembers that I have discussed this issue with, when I say that he is full of crap. I have heard his version of how he was supposedly abducted, and it is ridiculous. Just because NCIS hasn't charged him yet, doesn't mean he is not guilty. The only reason they even let him go home for a month is because that is standard protocal for POW cases, they rate 30 days convalescent leave. They certainly didn't send him home so that he could recover formt he "trauma" that he had endured, they sent him home because they had to.

Hassoun has been charged with desertion. He's probably guilty. His story is fishy, which is to say, it stinks. The French have the best explanation for his desertion, "cherchez la femme."
Hassoun looks like a horn dog. He's been married twice, seems to have no shortage of girlfriends. Should he be jailed for itching to get laid?

Three Muslim 'Informants' Beheaded by the Religion of Irony
What was that line again about Islam and peace and only a few and all that stuff? The borders of Islam are indeed bloody. Russia and India are our new natural allies in this war.
Hindustan Times:
Three Muslims were dragged out of their homes and beheaded amid rising civilian deaths in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Wednesday.
Police suspect that the three were killed because they were informants of Indian security forces. There was no way to independently verify the police claim.
Terrorists stormed into the village of Mara Doria in the Rajouri region, 180 kilometres northwest of Jammu, according to the duty officer at the Rajouri police station.
Kalu Din, 25, and Mishri Gujjar, 35, were taken from their homes to a nearby forest and beheaded, he said.
In the adjoining Fabri Dhok village, the attackers took Ghulam Shah, 50, and also decapitated him, the officer said on customary condition of anonymity.

Why the hell can't they get a clue, and just behead that guy on the Dytex commercials? Or Greg Cenimone[sp?]? (He's the guy threatening to turn your fat into concrete, so your pants will fit.) They'd have most infidels cheering Allah as a liberator.

Sorry, I think that's DiTech rather than Dytex, but who the hell knows for sure. It's not as though I've ever lifted my head to look at the TV while the commercial was playing. I have a theory that Alzheimer's is a diseased caused by watching too many TV commercials, or reading too much SPAM.
And that suggests another politically savvy move to give Allah a helping hand. They could start tracking down and kidnapping spammers, which would have the added benefit that they'd probably end up heheading themselves... which would be the holiest irony that ever tickeled Allah's funny bone, I bet.
Well, it's funnier than making war on children and humanitarian aid workers because those are the only people you can beat, anyway.

Like I said before - 98% of the terrorists are muslims but not all muslims are terrorists. These people were obviously innocent and what happened to them was not right but I can understand it. The problem is, go after the ones who ARE doing it and kill them.

Hello..
Praise be to Allah....
I know it was meant well by all comments, but I want to point out something... Not 98% of Muslims are terrorists... Muslims are misunderstood and mistreated in many different parts of this world... Islam is a religion of peace, justice, merci and equality... The word "ISLAM" it's self is taking from: selm and salam (which means: peace in Arabic_)...
“We are ordered to keep away from violence and arbitrary acts" People who don't ... are being disobedient to God... and are guilty of violating the laws of God.. As a Muslim.. I don't consider them any of us...
It hurts to see the destruction of buildings and properties, bombing of many innocent people... Those are all forbidden according to Islam.. Where prophet Mohammed (PBUH) has said: (Whoever has killed a person shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance is found for a span of forty years).
Prophet Mohammed also listed murder as the second of major sins. He (PBUH) has said: (The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed.)
In the holy Quran.. Allah has said: (God does not forgive you for showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers.)
Soldiers themselves were also forbidden from killing children and women and elderly people during warsÂ…
Muslims are also commanded to be kind to the e-mails.. And are forbidden to hurt them..
I thank you for your time..
alsalam alaykum.. o rahmat allah.. o barakatuh... (Peace be upon you all, and God's merci.. and forgiveness...)
