Ward Churchill Threatened, Speech Cancelled
No surprise here. Nor is it surprising that it is a bunch of 'ethnic studies' students who are up in arms over the cancellation. Oh, and when they say they don't wish America to be attacked they aren't lying. Committed pacifists on the Left always deplore violence, even violence against the US. It is not terrorism, per se, the Left hates--it is violence. "9-11 was tragic," and ethnic studies major might say, "but an even bigger tragedy was the US invasion of Iraq, Bush lied, no blood for oil, blah, blah..." See how this works.

Why yes, this A--hole has first Amendment rights! . . . and if the Regents aren't careful, Churchill, who has lied about his ethnic qualifications to teach this course, will retire well on the State of Colorado. He'll sue their asses off! In about 3 years the State will pay him a king's ransom if he gets the right Judge!
Better, the Regents and the University ought to just cancel the course. Let him try to make a living preaching his warped mantra. Only Idiots and Berkley Students would want to listen to him! Tenure or no, if there isn't a course, then we don't need Churchill! And if we can't completely exclude him from the system that way, then let him teach a Post Grad Course in Custodial Engineering . . something useful . .
And the course he taught, "Ethnic Studies" is no more than College accredited training for more Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons . . to teach excuse making . . that the "Man" has his foot on your neck . . instead of getting a real education and going out and competing in the open marketplace.

Perhaps Churchill should have created an annonymous blog to express his views instead. I don't agree with all of the things he said but still...the guy has balls.

Churchill is a perfect example of unmitigated, raw and quite powerful stupidity.
He's another member of the "Hating America is cool" club. Bill O' Reilly, while I'm not a huge fan, put it very well yesterday when he described hating the U.S today as being "chic." The U.S, the iconic, globalization-worshipping crusaders yadda yadda yadda. I'm not even American and I know this to be a significantly flawed view.
As for comments like "Sure the people inside the WTC were civilians, but innocent? Give me a break" and the one about the potential need for more 9-11s to make people realize etc. etc., all I can say is, what a bitter, morbid, apathetic and completely inappropriate thing to say. This man looks like a cross between a mad scientist and a recovering junky with several relapses under his belt, so I'm not surprised.
Let him wallow in his own misery. Hopefully one day, and preferably sometime soon, he'll pick up and move to a country that's a bit higher on his good list.
