Best News for Labor in 50 Years

Four dissident unions representing about one-third of the union members in the US will boycott the upcoming AFL-CIO Convention. The boycott is more than symbolic. Two of the unions, the Service Employees Union and the Teamsters, have already withdrawn from the federation. The reason given for the withdrawal, as announced by MSM, is that the AFL-CIO has placed too much emphasis on political lobbying at the expense of membership recruitment, and for once MSM isn't far off the mark.

The reason the US is the most religious nation in the Western world is simply because we're sectarian. There are lots of little churches instead of one big one. All the little churches have to compete with one another for members, so they excel at the task.
Hear, hear! I've long since decided that if the secularists in America
really wanted to eliminate religion as a force in American life, instead of demanding hyperenforcement of their version of the Establishment Clause, what they should be doing is trying to repeal it.
Wouldn't it be awesome if it turned out that Madalyn murray O'Hare contributed more to religious revival in modern times, than any ten televangelists?

At one time 65% of all Americans were in a union. Now it's 17%. I wonder why they quit? Perhaps they were not getting their moneies worth.
I grew up in San Francisco. The most unionized city in America. I don't see them living any better than other areas of the country. I fact with in the cost of housing and living their life styles must be much more stressful.
