Knock me over with a feather. I knew that Bernardine Dohrn had managed to escape long term imprisonment for her activities with the Weather Underground by cutting some sort of deal, but the fact that she's a law professor at Northwestern I find rather shocking. Anyway, Ms. Dohrn says that she doesn't support terrorism, which just means that she creatively defines her years with an overtly terrorist organization (not to mention her current sympathies) as some kind of warped public service:

She is a Communist who was a prominent member of the Weather Underground, a group that started riots, conducted a series of bombings, and advocated the overthrow of the government back in the 1960s and 1970s. Her husband, also a professor (of education!), told the New York Times in 2001 that he doesn't regret setting the bombs and, in fact, feels they didn't do enough.

I blogged about this back in January, when one of their kids wrote a book about his parents.

Sounds to me like she has put her youthful indiscretions behind her so that she could pursue a career in academia and work for the betterment of children.

Sounds like Collin is still living in an alternate reality.

Collin,
frat parties and womanizing are youthful indiscretions. Terrorism and treason are something more than that.
It's not bettering the children to indoctrinate them in that kind of crap.

Today:
To clarify, I have never endorsed terrorism, the use of violence to intimidate or coerce a civilian (or any other) population.
Then:
Bernardine Dohrn, saying: "Dig itÂ… First, they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with themÂ… Wild!" -- speaking of the Manson murders. Wild indeed.
"Hello, I'm going to read a declaration of a state of war...within the next 14 days we will attack a symbol or institution of American injustice." - Bernardine Dohrn, member of the Weather Underground
Does she think that the historical record is not available to be searched? More likely she believes, and probably rightly so if Colin is any indicator, that no one will bother to look it up or if they do, will excuse it as a 'youthful indiscretion'.

If you are so afraid of Professor Dohrn, why not call the police?

I suspect that Dohrn is using a different definition of terrorism than is being used by others here. Most likely she doesn't consider crimes against property, as opposed to crimes against people, to be terrorism. It's worth noting that the only people who were killed by Weatherman bombs were members of the Weatherman faction themselves. That said, there's no denying the creepyness of the Mansonoid rant. However, I don't think Dohrn was ever convicted of "terrorism" in a court of law, much less treason. That being the case there's no legal basis for denying her a teaching position. Caveat Emptor.

I watched "the weather underground" film just now and I found their fight style right inside the peace movement think, taking care of cause no deaths.
By the way, I find Ms Dohrn more attractive rather than ugly.
