A Word About Identity Theft

By Demosophist

Someone in the comments section of several of my posts has been impersonating me by posting in my name. The fellow also posts under other names, including "Cornell," and his IP address is listed as 207.69.138.6 . This is a Redhat Linux test page for the Apache server, so it appears that whoever the imposter is he has enough savvy to also fake his IP address Here's what Austin Bay said recently about "identity theft," one of the primary reasons he gives for instituting a cumbersome system of comment moderation:

Abu Farraj al-Libbi Reported in US Custody

It's times like these when you wish all the horror stories about Camp X-Ray down at Guantanamo were true. At the very least let'l get a female guard to do the cavity search when he arrives. AP:

Pakistan said Monday it handed over a senior al-Qaida suspect to the United States even though he had been the country's most wanted man for allegedly masterminding two bloody attempts to blow up President Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

Some Pakistani officials have described Abu Farraj al-Libbi as al-Qaida's latest No. 3 man, after Osama bin Laden and Egyptian surgeon Ayman al-Zawahri. However, he did not appear on the FBI list of the world's most-wanted terrorists, and his exact role in al-Qaida remains murky....

Because of the grave nature of the attacks, al-Libbi had been widely expected to stand trial in Pakistan. But last week Musharraf told CNN his government would turn the Libyan over to the United States. In a newspaper interview published Monday, he confirmed the handover had taken place.

"Yes, we turned Abu Farraj al-Libbi over to the United States recently, and we don't want people like him in our country," he was quoted as saying by al-Ittihad, a newspaper in the United Arab Emirates.

Musharraf's spokesman, Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan, verified the comments, which were made during an official visit to the UAE.

A Pakistani intelligence official said al-Libbi was whisked out of Pakistan with U.S. officials on a plane "a few days ago." The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the clandestine nature of his job, said he did not know where al-Libbi was taken.

The U.S. will not confirm that al-Libbi is in our custody. You will recall that al-Libbi is much more important to the Pakistanis because of his involvement in several assasination attempts on President Gen. Pervez Musharraf. It seems odd that Musharraf would want the US to deal with this guy rather than deal with him himself. Is it possible that al Qaeda sympathy runs so deep in the Pakistani security forces that Musharraf can no longer trust his own people?

Earlier report on Abu Farraj al-Libbi here.

Citizen Tips Leading to Terrorist Arrests

You won't see this tonight on TV. DOD:

Tips from local residents helped Iraqi security forces rescue a kidnapping victim, seize weapons and uncover a weapons cache June 5, Multinational Force Iraq officials in Baghdad reported today.
Iraqi police from the Shaab Police Station responded to a tip and launched a raid on a local residence, where they found a kidnapping victim unharmed inside, officials said.

Four suspects were taken into custody for questioning, officials said.

In other anti-insurgent activity, an Iraqi citizen who witnessed two sacks of ammunition and weapons being dropped in a field turned the contents over to soldiers at Camp Justice.

Officials said the citizen saw a white Toyota pickup truck drop the sacks and investigated the contents. Inside the bags were 37 Iraqi hand grenades, 101 Bulgarian grenade fuses, two Spanish artillery fuses, two French 130 mm artillery proximity fuses and one heavy machine gun, officials said.

The resident transported the cache to Camp Justice and turned it over to soldiers at the gate, officials said.

Also in Iraq, soldiers with the 1st Brigade, 3rd Iraqi Army Division, acted on a tip from a civilian and uncovered a weapons cache consisting of 20 122mm rockets.

No injuries or damages were reported during the incidents.

In related news, over 900 suspected terrorists arrested in the last two weeks by the Iraqis themselves. AP:
The Iraqi government announced Monday it detained nearly 900 suspected militants and set up more than 800 checkpoints in a two-week sweep that appears to have somewhat blunted attacks in the capital. ...

The latest figures released from Operation Lightning, which began May 22 in Baghdad, included at least 887 arrests and the establishment around Baghdad of 608 mobile and 194 permanent checkpoints. Also, 38 weapon stores were raided.

The operation is the biggest Iraqi-led offensive since Saddam's ouster two years ago. Before it began, authorities controlled only eight of Baghdad's 23 entrances. Now all are under government control.

'CIA Agent' Taken Hostage in Malta (images/video)

malta_cia_agent_hostage2.jpg
For those of you paying really close attention you will know this is last week's news. But I didn't get the video until today, so I thought I'd pass it along to those that hadn't heard about it. A group calling itself the Badr Brigade released this video last week of a 'CIA agent' they had 'captured' in Malta. But this one was allegedly debunked by OSINT and SITE as really another case of a doll being taken hostage. Chad also reported the erroneous story here.

Here is the problem with the debunking: a) Polish Expert of OSINT told me in an e-mail that he hadn't seen the video. His report was just a link to an AKI story that made the claim it was a hoax. The AKI story seems to have just been a report on what SITE had written. Now, SITE has changed their entry deleting the part that this was a doll. b) the 'CIA agent' moves in the video!! Now, I understand special effects, but how can this be a doll? Watch the video yourself. I asked Vlad of Infovlad to find it for me and he did. He has the video here for your downloading pleasure. I have still images from the video below and right.

This might very well be a hoax, but it is definitely not a doll as earlier reports indicated.

What do we know about the Badr Brigades? Not much. There is a group in Iraq that calls itself the Badr brigades, but which is more of an armed militia front for the Shia Islamist party. The group has been blamed for the murder of several Sunni clerics. It is not likely that the group who claims they are holding the 'CIA agent' are related to the group in Iraq given the close alliance that has formed between the ruling Shias and the US.

The name of the group, though, suggests Shia militism with ties to Iran. If that is the case, then big worries are headed for Europe. The largest source of militancy Europe has had with its Muslim minorities has been with Salaafist Sunni groups with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Wahabbi mosques, or even al Qaeda.

Maltamedia:

militant Islamist Group has claimed that it has kidnapped an American CIA secret agent carrying a Maltese passport, adnki.com reports.

Maltese authorities and police immediately carried out investigations about the hostage named Hajya Khalil. The police confirmed that the name was not found registered on Maltese passport and identity card lists. Several international news agencies are reporting that the man is not a Maltese citizen, as it was being stated.

According to the group which calls itself Badr Brigades, the hostage is suspected to have passed secret information to ‘the enemy’ regarding Islamist militant movements in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

Badr Brigades also stated that the man was arrested in a European country and will be killed without negotiations.

All like-minded bloggers ought to check the map out to see if they made the cut. A note to the Commissar: Notice how the Kingdom of the Politburo Diktat occupies East Prussia and The Jawa the Muscovite Rus Kingdom? Recall that East Prussia now belongs to which country?? More evidence that the Jawa will rise to become the biggest blog in the sphere!!

German TV: Bush Family Behind 9/11

Un-be-freaking-lievable! Dave Kasper at Medienkritik blogs out of Germany and keeps an eye on that nation's left-wing press. The latest lunacy out of Germany is a show broadcast on Germany's largest state-run television station which alleges that the Bush family was really behind 9/11.

Throughout the mystery the woman was chased by groups of unidentified villains who were out to kill her because she had a CD with photographic evidence of the Boston hijacker who got away. The subtext of the plot was her explicitly stated allegation that 9-11 was instigated by the Bush family for oil and power. The hit men were CIA/FBI types and the TV audience is led to believe they were the ones who killed the pilot and were now after the woman to insure her story would never be known. The conclusion of the mystery has the detectives believing her story as she escapes the CIA by fleeing to an unnamed Arab country.
This isn't exactly surprising news given what we know of the Left's love of conspiracy theories.

Natalee Holloway

Red at Scared Monkeys is following the story closely. Updates will be posted here.

Me? I'm not so interested although this is clearly a tragic story. But there are millions of tragic stories that could be told on any given day. I can't help but wondering if this would be the lead story if Natalee wasn't a gorgeous blonde? I'm serious. In my book this is the lead story for a local TV station at best. There is no reason this ought to be the lead at CNN and Fox. More evidence of the vast gynocratic conspiracy and the Oprahization of the news.......

Letters to Heroes: A Request

Rusty has given me permission to post this upon The Jawa Report and I thank him for doing so. I started a campaign to send letters to our service men and women about a week ago after seeing how many U.S. soldiers simply want mail. Letters for Heroes is about to ship out therefore this is your last chance, and to some it may be their first and last chance, to submit a letter that will be sent out tomorrow to the following service men and women.

SGT George W. Granter who is the squad leader of a recon team in Afghanistan. There are eight people on his team and their request is mail from the States.

PV2 Eric Avila who is stationed at Kandahar Air Base in Afghanistan and has yet to recieve even one piece of mail. His request is simple mail and we should do our part and send him letters of encouragement.

SPC Jon Drzewiecki who is stationed near Tikrit, Iraq and wishes to recieve mail for himself and his 17 other fellow soldiers. SPC Drzewiecki wishes to get some email penpals as well therefore include your email address in the letter.

Basic rules of submissions: Simply said, there are none. Your letter can be one line thanking a soldier for his or her service or it could be a very well thought out draft as some submissions have detailed. There are both men and women in these groups so please keep that in mind. If you wish further correspondence, include your physical address and/or email address.

How to be included in this effort: It cannot be more easy than this. Simply comment to my post here (I can pull email addresses off the comments if you wish but please state you wish me to do so) or email your letter to me.

While this is a small sacrifice for us to undertake, spending 10 minutes of our time, it means the world to our soldiers fighting for our freedoms accross the globe. Please take the time to create a letter and include it in Letters to Heroes.

I also want to thank those who have supported this effort and who have already sent in letters. I've recieved 23 letters thus far and I'm hoping to get another seven in this last minute push. Let's show our soldiers how much we care for their putting their lives in harms way by sending a letter.

The Dhimmitude Press Standard

By Demosophist

What I'd really like to know is how we can expect the Ummah to exercise reasoned judgment when our own press refuses to do so? In the words of the late Desi Arnaz: "Can somebody please 'splain that to me?"

The Aussie Street: A Lesson for the Ummah

By Demosophist

In a recent post on Qu'rangate I speculated that there might be a silver lining:

But sometimes I wonder if Muslims, the deeply religious and the fanatical alike, shouldn't be a little more worried that we might just fly off the handle once in awhile. I worry that our apologists have been too successful at convincing them we're nice, even-tempered barbarians.

Well, I'm not kidding. And a recent post by The Belmont Club demonstrates why it's important.

Lowly Adjunct Suffers Ignominious End

By Demosophist

Well, we know how that goes, don't we? Typically adjuncts are treated with about as much collegial respect as third-string badminton players, but this case takes the impertinence to a new level. After being shot by his wife with a 0.38 cal. Taurus, Bill McGuire, an adjunct professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology, was dismembered with a power saw, packed in three cheap suitcases, and tossed in the Chesapeake. Ouch!

Serbian Civilian Murders Broadcast on TV, Leads to Arrests

Amateur video taken of war crimes committed by Bosnian Serbs against civilians has been aired on Serb and Bosnian TV for the first time. I first saw this story at my yahoo mail account. I see Hysciene is also covering it here. I'm going to archive the story and the photos below since The AP has a tendency to take them down after a week or so.

Jihadi Training Video

I've seen a lot of jihadi videos in my time, but this one takes the cake for sheer retardedness. I'm calling it the al-Timmy video. You know, if this is the kind of training the mujahidin are getting now it's no wonder they have to resort to suicide missions as their only successful means of attacks. Even so, it's amazing that these retards could pull off killing themselves let alone any one else. Yes, the video is that idiotic.

It's also quite funny. Below are a series of vidcaps I pulled off from it. The quality is bad, due to poor lighting in the video, but trust me these are beyond funny. more...

Pantano resigns commission, retains honor

Thanks to relentless villification by the press, desertion by the government he swore to uphold, and the ingratitude of the country he swore to protect, Lieutenant Ilario Pantano has resigned.

h/t Michelle Malkin:

Here are some of Pantano's comments upon announcing his resignation at a fish fry today:

Congressman Jones, You once shared a verse with me:
Greater love hath no man - than to lay down his life for his friends.
That spirit of sacrifice defines the soldier and Marine. And it defines you sir. You know in your heart and your soul what is right and you are willing to fight for it. Even if it is at great risk to you and your career.
As my family and I faced our darkest hours you fought for us, and in doing soÂ…You fought for every man and woman in the uniform, past present and future - not because of the opportunity to challenge the military, but for the opportunity to protect it from itself.
Day and night you appealed to any that would listen. You were tireless in your defense of me, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
My family and I want to thank you for your courage and your leadership.
First, I present to you my innocence, known to you and many many others from the outset, but proven finally by our justice system after a yearlong investigation and prosecution.
Congressman Jones, You werenÂ’t just brave to defend me. You were RIGHT.
And finally, from one warrior to another, I present to you my most cherished possession: my sword. My love of corps and country will never be broken or diminished, but now it is my love of family that I must honor most with my decision to resign.
I have taken up arms for my country and my corps in two wars and it has been my privilege to serve beside real heroes- some of whom are here today.
Even as I step aside it is my greatest hope that young men and women continue to follow in the footsteps of those who have gone beforeÂ… To push themselvesÂ…To rise to the challenge of becoming Marines. Our country needs you and we will always be grateful to you.
The Marine OfficerÂ’s sword represents the highest ideals of military excellence and professionally, one of my greatest achievements.
Honor, courage and commitment are principles by which we Marines LIVE AND DIE.
You, Congressman Jones, through your actions, have demonstrated that you live by those principles as well.
And I, for one am grateful that you do.
Thank you Sir, may God bless you and your family and may God Bless America.

Religion of Peace Update: Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta edition

Now that I've got my Instalanche, I can just sit back and watch the hits coming. But in the spirit of solidarity to all my homies, here is what I'm reading this morning. Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta!

Others (following our lead) now reporting Zaraqawi dead, however all of us are relying on the same source. I'll try to contact some alternative sources about this and see what the Jihadi boards are saying. Laurence Simon, over at The Dead Pool, has a pretty funny poll going on Zarqawi's demise. Go vote early and vote often!

Suicide bombers, not content with murdering Shias in Iraq, murder 10 Suffis.

American soldier, not content with being dhimmi, becomes a Muslim.

Top Islamofascist cleric in Australia believes hostage, Douglas Wood, will be freed. No word on how he know this, who his contacts with the terrorist in Iraq are, and how come he knows how to contact the terrorists yet somehow the Australian government can't send a commando team in.

Can chicks have balls? Cause Cao has a massive set of cajones taking on the Islamofascists here.

Good news everyone! This Islamofascists in Iran may kill you if you convert to Buddhism but they will allow you to get breast implants!! Cause Allah loves big knockers.........
