Lebanese Man Kidnapped in Iraq

Mustafa Abdul-Rassul Hussein was kidnapped Friday. Apparently, his kidnappers are after money. This reminded me that several Americans are still being held hostage in Iraq. Keep them in your prayers.

They are:
Roy Hallums Nov 1 2004
Radim Sadiq (aka, Dean Sadik) Nov 2 2004
Jeffrey Ake April 11 2005
Tim Bell April 9 2004 Daily Star, Lebanon:

A Lebanese citizen was abducted in Baghdad, after a period of relative safety for Lebanese expatriates, who suffered a violent year in 2004. Mustafa Abdul-Rassul Hussein, 49, from the South Lebanese village of Gebaa, was kidnapped Friday while on his way to complete a business transaction, his family said.

"Hussein is married to an Iraqi woman and has two sons. He went to Iraq two years ago, and we haven't seen him since," said his brother, Hachem.

According to The Daily Star's sources in Iraq: "Hussein was a provisions' merchant, who was invited to an Iraqi's house on Friday to conduct a business deal. The invitation turned out to be a trap and he was abducted."

Hachem said he was informed by the Lebanese Embassy that the kidnappers have demanded a ransom, though the amount is undisclosed.

The sources confirmed Mustafa is healthy. They added that negotiations with the kidnappers have already begun.

Some 31 Lebanese nationals have been kidnapped in Iraq since April 2004, including Mustafa Hussein, and five others have been brutally murdered.
