The storm missed the denser areas of the city but struck smaller towns and suburbs to the south and east. Mrs. Stella Rawlings and her husband stepped out so see the entire area around their home destroyed The elderly couple credited their minor damage and tremendous luck to the Lord

Then it started a long time ago. The largest Tornado ever passes right over where I grew up. I know a lady sh'es passed now that lost an arm as a baby whn it hit. Everyone had a storm cellar. Not so much any more but they should I should. Tonado damage looks like a big gieant come stomping through. One hit south of here two years ago. I still remember the one house was just a bunch of insulation in what was left of the trees which were pretty damaged as well. Two miles either side nada nothing but if you are in the path whew. That one went about 20 miles and really left a trail.

I live about 50 NW of E'ville. That storm woke me up about midnight. Was an eyelash away from getting the wife and kids up for a move to the basement. It was a very odd storm, not alot of rain but tremendous thunder, lightning and STRONG cross winds. Rare to have that vicious of a storm that late at night.

We used to live on the east side of Evansville, just off of Lincoln. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends, their families, and to those who are strangers as well.

Haven't had the chance to ask this before, but since there's been lots of weather disasters lately: What's this sites collective view about global warming?

No serious meterologist without an agenda believes "global warming" has anything to do with it. These weather patterns are cyclicle and we are entering a similar situation as we had in the late 40s and 50s. Pure junk science to assert otherwise.

Global warming is caused by the CO2 that constantly spews from A Finn. Finn Tornados can form any time any where if you are in the midwest it's just fact of life and has been for 300 years. Warm air to the South cold to the north and a cold front = maybe. Storms this late in the year are considered to be less dangerous but that's not true. March and Nov are just as bad as high summer due to the clashing of cold and warm during the change of the season. We like out T-storms it's a great thing about the midwest but they can turn ugly when you least expect it.

Yeah, they keep talking about the weather cycle here too, but the once in 50 years weathers have suddenly become annual here. Still no snow, same thing for ten years now. Back when and 5 years after the CCCP was clouding the sky snow came in August, and before that October at latest. Another view is that you're warming the Gulf stream so it warms the air more here, might not be so global.
