Pointing out to the Dutch that the Nazis too killed crippled children isn't morally wrong, and I doubt even the offended Dutchman thinks so. If his reply is accurately translated, his objection is that Giovanardi was being unacceptably rude. He might have also added impertinent, since the justification for the Dutch policy has nothing to do with whether the Nazis had one that resembles it. There is a logical fallacy here that a parliamentary minister isn't stupid enough to be excused for making. A policy stands on its own merits. If your best criticism of it is that the Nazis did it too, you don't have a criticism.
Culling infants in a place like Netherlands or the U.S. can be attacked on moral grounds either by Christian or humanistic principles--that is, you can apply either the standards of God or Man. It would be easier to do the former, but still problematic. For one thing, the Dutch government may be reluctant to accept the authority of God in this case since He does not give reimbursement for neonatal intensive care, and therefore any demand of His to preserve badly damaged babies is tantamount to an unfunded mandate. Also, Christians overwhelmingly believe that God holds men individually accountable for their acts, hence no dissenting Dutch Christian can claim that he might be dragged into Hell if his doctor murders a child.
Attacking this on humanist grounds is much trickier of course because humanism permits Man to make the rules he must abide. Usually these are whatever moral opinions he happens to pull out of his wazoo and tend to be uncannily convenient. Hence, rich humanists who make their living spending other people's money on crippled kids they never have to see tend to have a different morality from medical humanists who spend 12-hour shifts propping up hideously deformed babies with zero outlook of participating in life. Since it's a contest of opinions humanist ethical debate, even among intellectuals, tends to degenerate quickly to name-calling and other shabby tricks like this case of playing the Nazi card. It's all very depressing.

Hondo, I am in complete agreement with you on this one. If the Dutch had any sense, they would stop all Muslim immigration until they get a handle on the problem. But rather than take any concrete steps, they come up with making someone watch a gay movie. They are gone. This is truly one of the most foolish things I've ever seen.

well.. if you live in Amsterdam, as i did, and you encounter many people from marocco spitting and insulting very much on daily basis on gay's and lesbians and other 'sexual' noticable people .. then i think actcually the movie should be a test too all people. On the other hand, in the small strict dutch religious villages woman are not even allowed to dress in jeans because of there calvinistic strict laws, so yes, some Dutch are also restricted too there 'burka'. It's not called Taliban, but Calvinistic, however there is a big difference, the calvinistic do tollerate absolutly homosexuals, but most moslims don't.

.. but the difference is that most Moslim immigrants are poor people looking for new future etc. .. so this is only a part of the moslim world. The immigrants in the Netherlands are not the usual people living in moslim countries, but mostly the poor ultra old fashion mountain farmers. The modern moslim people do not immigrate because they having fun in there own country including tollerance. So, the immigrants is not a common dominator of the moslim world, but instead are poor usually farmer people. Suddenly living in appartments in Holland where they slaugher their goats inside the bathrooms 6 floors up. And living as nomads within a complete different society (The Netherlands is one metropolitan) and they come 'from the country' 600 years ago. So the differences is far much bigger as, you, the internet reader, reading from your country can imagine.

What you say is the absolute basiqs of this whole issue: arms are not allowed in europe
so if you calculate: 10 million (only a fraction of the moslims who live here) would participate on slaughtering, then you need only too kill 30 people in a day too reach a 300 million death, and that's just one day. Whether the guy is playing with a full deck or not, I still see some things in what he says that make some sense. If I were in Europe right now, I would do exactly what this guy is doing, getting the hell out ASAP. He sees the demographics even though he doesn't see the solution to the problem. And I think he is spot on with his assessment of the Euro feeling toward Bush and the US. My brother-in-law just returned from Italy and France and he says he has never felt unwelcome in either place until this trip. He said that you should not even mention Bush or the US Military, or you were likely to be attacked, and he said the suburbs of Paris were taboo. Not a good overall experience is the way he described it to me.

I must honestly say myself that it's hard too find any pro-israel reason, as yes, the israel millitary is really abusing it's rights and they kill indeed a lot of innocent people. That is the big mistake many people make. People who (too say it brutal) suck the dicks of moslims, think they are not being killed. As thus .. as you calculate the many people who 'suck the dick' of bin laden idea's (many many europeans).. then calculate how affraid they are in fact. .. now .. for me is people , massive amount of people being affraid , is for me indeed a huge big signal something is heavily wrong. people are not anti usa because they really think so, but because they are scared. the whole issue of the problem is that the moslim believe does have in it's sense a much more peace approach of an estabilished society. so, they massivly, including the europeans, accept it as a logical way to go. nobody believes that 'we' all being chopped off... so, why not accept the new way of thinking of moslim believe, as they are even right in the usa messing around the half of the planet in sake of oil, christianity and stuff. .. now personally i disaggree, but again, who cares what i personal think, it's the whole demographics in total. my exwife is marocan, and i myself came in many coffeeshops (marocan bars in amsterdam where you can smoke and buy dope), so yes, i really know what's going on.
another aspect is also the differences of way of life.. we in the west.. work, work work and sit in the traffic jam, needs some rest in the evening, watch tv, and go too sleep, maybe an hour talking about politics but not really, because daily life requires in the west a lot of time. .. now.. compare this with africa and the midle east countries .. not many people really work in offices where it's not really appropiate to talk nonestop about politics or religion, now .. in those countries the whole foundation is not only builded upon religion, but it's a daily nonestop issue, and they feel humilitated with the way israels army (and thus the usa) acts.. thus.. it's like for them, there is somebody in your house (israel) and pissing on your family, that's there perspective, right or wrong, who cares, so.. for them indeed it feels as cancer, day in day out. for us, we don't feel that, because israel is not in our neighbourhood, for them it's a daily humiliation.
now,,, that you only know as westener, as for example me who married an marocan woman, and move within the arab society a bit.
problem of the whole issue is that it's not clear anymore for the usa what is being used as contra terrorism logic or what is indeed an abuse by own (usa people, like the president himself) of this counter terrorism strategy, only too use for his own purposes of moving too the arab countries because he knows himself it's the end of the west, so pretty logic he votes himself for this new modern arab world. he knows europe is gone and will be slaughtered this or next year.
it's that simple.

That was a long time ago, now however and Britain has continued to call for 'diversity' while having an extremely lax immigration policy [look at all the radicals openly preaching in the U.K]. Diversity often comes at the cost of watering down one's own culture, and history. If X amount of population finds my custom/history offensive? remove it, and apologize for it. The whole culture then revolves around tip-toeing around each other, and ensuring they do not insult anyone.
I find Europe does not understand America at all, but believe me that's a good thing.

If things keep going the way they are now, with a rapidly growing and completely unintegrated muslim population, there will be a tipping point when the Muslim population of European countries will reach the point of no return. I'm afraid the Muslim hypothesis is quite correct, thus far. The West has no actual ideals that it insists on imposing onto the barbaric cultures of the middle east. Sure, we have an abundance of bombs, guns, planes, tanks and skilled soldiers who can accomplish what we tell them to, but that does not win a war.
What wins a war, especially this kind of war, is a clearcut ideological position. "Democracy" (especially of the absurd, unlimited kind that is being perpetuated right now as the Iraqis and Afghanis decide how best to slip back into theocracy) is not an ideology, contrary to socialist/Wilsonian idiots' claims. Who, in any situation, would die for a vote in a democracy? Minus all the rights and protections to the individual we enjoy here, a democracy is just another form of dictatorship - and a shifting, shakey form at that.
Yes, our troops will trounce the Islamists whereever they meet. Thats not the point. The point is that we either have to convert the Muslim population into something less insane or kill them all. The will to do the latter doesn't exist, and the ideology to do the former is likewise lacking.
Until an actual ideologue who is willing to say "Our culture is better in all objective terms than that of the Islamists': in addition, Islamist culture is a clear threat to the United States. So we're going to have to change them, whether they like it or not," the United States will not - and can not - win the war on terrorism.
In any conflict between two sides, the most ideologically pure wins out over the long term. You've seen it for almost a century as communists kept rising to power when opposed only by mixed-government socialists and sundry defenders of "Capitalism" who seethed and cowered in fear of any socialist proclaiming a crusade for 'social justice.' Now you will see the rise of Islamic Rule in at least half the population of the world, for the exact same reason.
America will grow a backbone, an ideologically pure one, or it will fall, not in a nuclear holocaust with millions killed, to a giant enemy with a huge military, but to a cockroach that we willingly bowed to, for fear of being thought of as intolerant.

But here's the clincher: They still go to football games, they use credit cards and do fifty other things regularly that Muslims are forbidden to do in the Middle East. Why, they even fly kites!
